After a controversial decision that crowned Ok Rae Yoon the ONE lightweight world champion just under a year ago, Christian Lee recaptured the lightweight title in an incredibly dominant performance on Friday at ONE 160.

‘The Warrior’ had every intention of keeping it out of the hands of the judges. Hot out of the gate, Lee immediately put pressure on the South Korean champion. Ok had his moments early on, but Lee was proving to be the much faster and more powerful striker. Near the two-minute mark of the first round, Lee landed a solid left hook followed by a partially blocked right head kick forcing the champion to retreat. Following Ok to the fence, Lee looked to take advantage, but the South Korean was able to circle out and get himself back to the center.

Continuing to bring the pressure, Christian Lee landed an overhand right followed by a 1-2 combination that dropped Ok near the fence. Following him to the ground, Lee delivered vicious knees to the head of the champion. Ok was able to get back to his feet and create separation until Lee dropped him again with another devastating overhand right. Ok again recovered and backpedaled, his only goal being to survive the opening five minutes.

Christian Lee Puts Ok Rae Yoon Away With a Series of Knees to The Head

Coming out for the second round, Ok Rae Yoon was wearing the damage from the first. Intent on adding to the damage, Christian Lee picked up right where he left off, bringing pressure to the defending champion. Less than a minute into the round, Lee delivered a superman punch-calf kick combination that backed Ok to the fence once again. From there, ‘The Warrior’ once again landed the overhand right, dropping Ok to the mat. Pinning the South Korean to the fence, Lee threw a series of brutal knees to the head of the champion.

With no response from Ok, the referee had no choice, but to step in and call a stop to the action just one minute into the second round. Christian Lee had recaptured the ONE lightweight world championship in an absolutely dominant performance.

During the post-fight interview, Christian Lee discussed his first meeting with Ok Rae Yoon nearly a year ago and the changes he made heading into the main event rematch.

“The biggest mistake I made in the previous fight is when I get into the Circle, I just want to fight. And so I calmed it down a little bit. We laid out a game plan, I stuck to it, I just tried my best to take my shots. Take what was there, not rush anything. And the finish happened on its own.

“The confidence comes from all the hard work. There’s no way to fake it in this game. I said it in the last fight. I thought I won it. At 50%. This is my performance at 100%. Ok Rae Yoon is without a doubt one of the top lightweight fighters in the world. So respect to him. But I knew this is how it’s gonna go down tonight. I knew that the training ang hard work that I put in was going to be enough to get it done. And here I am, I’m happy to be with my baby girls.”

For his performance, Christian Lee was rewarded with a $50,000 bonus. While Lee’s sister Angela Lee, the ONE atomweight world champion was not present at ONE 160, Lee was joined by his wife and daughter inside the ONE Circle to celebrate his new reign as a ONE world champion.

Graduating high school is a big accomplishment in itself, but ONE Championship’s Victoria Lee has done it as a professional fighter.

ONE Championship is home to some of the best fighters on the planet, from Demetrious Johnson to the champion siblings Angela and Christian Lee. Those who follow ONE Championship surely know that the Lee siblings are very talented fighters, but there is another sister who is doing amazing things both inside the cage and out, that is younger sister Victoria Lee.

Lee has just turned 18 years old and has recently graduated from high school. In addition to this achievement, Lee is also a professional fighter. So far, she has had three professional fights under the ONE Championship banner and has won them all.

Her nickname of “The Prodigy” seems to hold water and she began fighting professionally at just 17 years old and has shown that she may be the next in the family to hold the gold in ONE Championship. Many professional fighters devote their entire lives to the sport. Many quit other jobs when they go pro, but Lee has to juggle both school and training. She has spoken previously about this to Sportskeeda.

“Most of my teachers do know me, are really understanding and they extend deadlines for me,” Lee said. “But some are kind of like, more stiff on their requirements. And then I’ll just, like, miss the test, or I’ll make it up. But for the most part, my grades are good, and my teachers are understanding about it.”

Now that high school is behind her, Lee may be ready to return to the cage, although she does not have a date set as of now. She has not publically mentioned her plans for the future at this time.

Angela Lee Not Opposed To Christian Lee vs. Eddie Alvarez Title Fight

Eddie Alvarez is not deserving of a title shot. However, Angela Lee is willing to look past that as far as her brother Christian is concerned.

Christian is the current ONE lightweight champion with Alvarez recently calling him out.

Christian, however, was dismissive of the callouts given Alvarez has only won once in four ONE outings with his last fight being a decision defeat to Rae Yoon Ok.

However, Christian’s sister Angela acknowledges that it’s the biggest fight that can be made — which is why she isn’t opposed to Alvarez getting a title shot next.

“If you look at Eddie’s record on paper since he joined ONE, it’s not too impressive,” Angela said (via MMA Junkie). “Just looking at what fights he’s had in ONE, you’d think he’s undeserving of a title shot, but given that Eddie comes from a history of being previous UFC champion, being previous Bellator champion, and he has a huge following, and a lot of fans want that fight then I think that would be the only reason for Christian to take the fight against Eddie, is that’s the fight the fans want.

“That’s the fight that’s gonna be the biggest draw. So I don’t think that Christian owes Eddie this title fight, I don’t think Eddie’s deserving of the title fight, but just because it’s in such high demand by the fans that I think, yeah sure, why not? Make it happen.”

Even with Alvarez winless in his last two, it’s hard to deny that him against Lee would be one of the biggest fights the Singapore-based promotion can put out.

Do you think Alvarez should get the next shot?

Christian Lee believes that he is the best Lightweight MMA fighter in the world.

On Wednesday night, he put on a performance that may back up his claim.

Lee, the One Championship Lightweight champion, needed less than 2 minutes to stop Timofey Nastyukhin

Lee, the One Championship Lightweight champion, needed less than 2 minutes to stop Timofey Nastyukhin on One Championship on TNT II. Lee stunned him with a vicious counter left and wasted no time following up with a barrage of punches before the referee jumped in to stop the fight. Nastyukhin tried to get up for his part, but Lee’s speed and tenacity were too much for him to recover from to avoid the stoppage.

If styles make fights, this fight is one everyone was eager to see. Most looked to see how Lee, a very well-rounded fighter, would do against a power puncher in Nastyukhin. He established his speed advantage very early in the first round. It was clear that Lee was looking to time the openings Nastyuhkin’s power shots provided. As Nastyukhin pushed forward, Lee ducked and threw the counter left hand that slumped him and started the fight-ending sequence. (H/T MMAFighting.com)

“I couldn’t have asked for a better story,” Lee said after his latest title defense. “I trained 10 very hard weeks leading up to this match. This was the most important fight of my life. Very soon, I’m going to become a father so this fight was dedicated to my baby girl Leah on the way and my wife Katie back at home,” Lee shared after the fight.

“Timofey, he’s a dangerous opponent. He likes to go in there and he goes for the knockout. So our game plan was just to capitalize on that. Speed and accuracy beats power so that’s what happened tonight.”

Though there was no controversy, Nastyukhin did protest the stoppage immediately following the end of the fight.

“If I was in his shoes, I would probably be feeling the same,” Lee said about Nastyukhin’s complaint. “I’m sure he felt that he could have continued but the way I hurt him right there, I was about to take his back and look for a submission. So I feel confident I would have won the fight either way.”
