UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway has fought Conor McGregor and as such, knows the controversial Irishman well.

Most of McGregor’s UFC colleagues have excoriated him for injuring several innocent fighters two days before April’s UFC 223 during the now-infamous Brooklyn bus attack.

Count Holloway among the very few who still wish Conor the best; the featherweight champion spoke to TMZ and gave a brutally honest yet positive response when asked about McGregor’s legal issues.

To somewhat surprising results, Hollway said he actually felt bad for “The Notorious”:

“Conor’s got some serious stuff going on and I wish nothing but the best for the guy.

”I feel bad for the guy right now with his legal issues and I hope everything goes good for him.

”As a family man to a family man, I hope everything turns out good for him.”

McGregor has been dealing with the legal fallout of his actions that day in Brooklyn ever since, having to fly to New York City for court appearances multiple times by the time he wraps it up. At the same time, he’s balancing out life as a new father, after his longtime companion Dee Devlin gave birth to their son Conor Jr. last year.

Holloway and McGregor threw down in McGregor’s seond-ever UFC fight back in 2013, with “The Notorious” leaving with a decision victory. “Blessed” hasn’t lost since that fight and has picked up the featherweight belt in McGregor’s absence.

Holloway will defend his belt against Brian Ortega at UFC 226 on July 7 while McGregor is set to return for another court date on July 26.

Dana White Unveils New Meeting With Conor McGregor

Dana White has another appointment to meet with Conor McGregor:

The post Dana White Unveils New Meeting With Conor McGregor appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

UFC President Dana White says he has a new meeting set up with Conor McGregor, who hasn’t stepped foot in the cage since 2016.

McGregor infamously got himself into hot water (as well as legal trouble) after attacking a bus containing UFC fighters in Brooklyn right before UFC 223. “Notorious” was looking for his nemesis Khabib Nurmagomedov, but ended up injuring several other fighters while Khabib went unharmed.

White told TMZ on Wednesday that he will be meeting with McGregor on June 18th, after an attempted meeting during the weekend of UFC Liverpool didn’t end up happening for whatever reason:

”He and I are meeting on the 18th of this month. I don’t know whats gonna happen. I don’t know what Conor has planned. I don’t know what Conor and his team have worked on.”

McGregor will be in Brooklyn on Thursday for another court appearance regarding his arrest for the bus attack. The Irishman faces charges of assault, which has kept him sidelined until the case is adjudicated.

He and White have another date set to hash things out and hopefully get McGregor back into the cage soon. While he did box Floyd Mayweather last August, McGregor hasn’t defended either of his UFC titles he earned nor has he fought in the octagon almost two years.

Do you expect to see McGregor back in the UFC anytime soon? Or will White’s meeting with McGregor get canceled again?

UFC 223 will forever be remembered for Conor McGregor’s gang assault on a bus containing fighters attending a media day for the card.

Lightweight contender Michael Chiesa and flyweight Ray Borg were forced off of the card at the last minute after glass from the broken bus windows cut and damaged their face and eye respectively. The whole scene was complete bedlam, and McGregor is still dealing with the legal process of it. The former two-division champ will appear in court on June 14 in the next step to possible legal ramifications.

The whole scene erupted from a beef between Khabib Nurmagomedov and McGregor’s longtime teammate Artem Lobov.

There was so much at work going into what was essentially an issue between McGregor and Nurmagomedov, who had physically accosted his SBG friend Lobov days earlier.

See the timeline and the full details for McGregor’s bus attack in Brooklyn last month in this revealing video via MMA Mania:

McGregor will return to court in Brooklyn on June 14th as his case for charges of felony assault is adjudicated.

Considering the full details, does McGregor’s actions here make any more sense? Or is he still just an egomaniac running around going completely unchecked?

Ray Borg was forced out of his UFC 223 fight after he was cut inside his eye when Conor McGregor and his goons attacked a bus carrying UFC fighters in Brooklyn last week.

Borg was subjected to online trolls, likely McGregor fans, who assailed the UFC flyweight for pulling out of his fight.

He finally opened up about the fallout of UFC 223 on The MMA Hour on Monday:

“They didn’t see the rest of it, when I wiped my eyes and the glass went right onto my face.”

“My eye was a little irritated, but I didn’t really think much of it, and it wasn’t until later that day that the small shards and particles of glass that were on my cornea were what really caused the irritation. I personally didn’t even want to get looked at by a doctor, but as I was trying to get on with my weight cut, my eye just started killing me and I was advised to go see a doctor and get checked out.”

Borg’s eye was injured when glass from the bus window McGregor smashed came into contact with his cornea, forcing him out of his fight with Brandon Moreno.

As much as Borg wanted to fight on Saturday night, both a UFC Doctor and a hospital deemed him unfit to fight:

“I was first checked out by the UFC doctor. The doctor that they always have there, I forget his name, but I got checked out by him first. He looks in my eye and tells me it looks like I have some corneal abrasions, maybe iritis, because I was kinda sensitive to light. So as I get to the hospital, they admit me and they didn’t just look at my eye and say, ‘Oh, yeah, your eye looks a little messed up. You can’t fight.’ They ran a whole [gamut of tests]. They did it twice just to double-check to make sure. I had them do it twice.”

“To be honest, I thought I was going to be fine. My coach Brandon [Gibson], he had told me that he had gone through the same thing before, to where he’d had shards of glass in his eye and it just bugged him and bugged him, and then they kinda gave him some drops and some medication and he was better in a few days. Even the UFC doctor told me that it would be better within 72 hours, so I truly thought, ‘Okay, you know what, I came in, got checked out like they needed me to. Maybe they’ll just send me on my way and give me stuff that USADA will approve and I can take the next couple days until fight night and be fine.’

“But no, after that the UFC doctors as well as the doctors in the emergency room didn’t advise me to fight Saturday night.”

Borg and Moreno will instead fight at UFC Fight Night: Chile in May. Borg says he was the target of online trolls when the news of bis removal broke:

“I was advised to kinda just leave it alone, not say anything, just let the trolls be troll. I was always told don’t feed the trolls, don’t feed the trolls. But it had gotten to the point where some of these people were just getting so outrageous, so outrageous that I had to defend myself. I can’t just ignore certain things, same thing with wanting to get off the bus when all this happened. I felt the need to defend myself, so as much as I would’ve rather not put all my personal [information online], put a doctor’s note and everything that gave me — I would’ve rather not had to do that, but unfortunately the fanbase that is involved with MMA right now required me to do that.”

The person behind this particular injury is Conor McGregor, who was charged and arraigned in New York for assault charges in connection to the attack.

Conor McGregor caused quite a stir on Thursday after attacking a bus containing fighters preparing for UFC 223, and actually turned himself into police after several fighters sustained injuries.

McGregor’s manager Audie Attar finally released a statement over the matter, and naturally came to his client’s defense:

McGregor himself has yet to comment on the matter and was bailed out Friday by his friend Dillon Danis following his arraignment in Brooklyn. McGregor will return to court on June 14th as his case is adjudicated.

Meanwhile, Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg filed orders of protection against McGregor after injuries sustained during Thursday’s melee forced them out of their respective bouts at UFC 223.

Do you agree with McGregor’s manager in that rumor and misinformation have obscured what really happened? Or is this just damage control from McGregor’s team?
