Sean Strickland has recently offered to fight internet sensation Commander Dale Brown from Detroit Urban and Survival Training. In the UFC, Dale from D.U.S.T was last seen cornering Joaquin Buckley for his fight vs. Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Vegas 48.

There has been much speculation as to whether Brown is a legitimate self-defense expert or just an internet troll.

If it weren’t apparent before, Strickland’s love for fighting is unparalleled. As if two main event headliners in a row for Strickland weren’t enough, Sean has now extended a lucrative offer to Dale to fight him. Via Alex Behunin on Twitter, Sean offered Dale:

“I will buy your plane ticket; I will put you in whatever hotel you want. I will take two-hundred thousand dollars in cash and put it in the sand, and you can have that money. All you have to do is beat me, just say when man. I promise we will do this whenever you want. The problem is you’re a fraud, you’re a phony, you’re a con artist…”

Recently, videos have emerged on the internet of Strickland and Dale meeting, where they get into a light scuffle. Dale, getting his fame from the internet and TikTok, seems keen to accept Strickland’s proposal.

Chris Curtis Sides with Sean Strickland, Calls for Dale to accept the Fight

UFC Welterweight and Strickland’s teammate Chris Curtis added his input to the situation via Twitter. Curtis believes “the challenge must be met”.

Will the time finally come that we get to see if Commander Dale Brown is legitimate? None other than Sean Strickland will hopefully be the one to find out.

In a recent viral video, the 31-year-old accidentally collided with Brown who ran into a shelf full of guns and tipped it over. It was all fun and games with Strickland and the self-defense practitioner.

Strickland reacted to the video with an Instagram caption. He jokingly said that he’ll start his own self-defense initiative.

Well I will say that felt mildy uncomfortable but I think I should start a self defense program???? What should i call it??? last time I get invited to any events lol Thanks for having me @thegunstore.”

Sean Strickland Is Constantly Going Viral

Strickland (26-5) is known for being a unique figure in the MMA world. His recent interaction with Brown is not the first time he went viral. In November, he released a video of his sparring session with an online troll. He has also released clips of his intense sparring that involved knocking out sparring partners. He also had a physical altercation with BJJ champion Orlando Sanchez in 2021 which was caught on video.

‘Tarzan’ recently bounced back from a two-fight skid. He started off 2023 with a unanimous decision win over Nassourdine Imavov this past weekend at UFC Vegas 67. It was a quick turnaround for Strickland. He became the first fighter to headline back-to-back events since 2005.
He is currently ranked #7 in the UFC middleweight division.

UFC middleweight striker, Joaquin Buckley has revealed the reasoning regarding his decision to host Detriot Urban Survival Training self-defense instructor, Dale Brown in his corner at UFC Vegas 48 last weekend, claiming that the practitioner’s techniques are also well advised.

Buckley, who opened the UFC Apex facility’s main card, managed to narrowly survive a late rally against Abdul Razak Alhassan to score a close split decision victory against the Ghana-born knockout kingpin.

The victory came as Buckley’s second consecutively, following a third round knockout win against Antonio Arroyo last year – which returned him to the winner’s enclosure.

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland recently called out and questioned Dale Brown and his techniques

However, Buckley hit the headlines during fight week ahead of UFC Vegas 48, with reports detailing how the aforenoted self-defense instructor, Brown would be cornering him for his fight with Alhassan.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Joaquin Buckley revealed his reasoning for starring Brown in his corner, intending to capitalize on Brown’s recent viral success.

“We just started brainstorming, what if I put this man (Dale Brown) in my corner?” Joaquin Buckley said. “What type of impact would that make? After that, history was made on Feb. 19. When everything started blowing up the way that it did, I reached out to him and was like, ‘Hey, would you be cool being in my corner?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, I think we’ll pretty much blow up the internet.’ which we did. It went crazy.”

“He was down from the get-go,” Joaquin Buckley said. “Shout out to Dale Brown. He’s a cool dude, he gets a lot of negativity about the things that he’s doing but he’s legit in the self-defense and security game (for) 26 years. He was a military paratrooper, he knows what he’s talking about. He’s been in the game for a minute.”

Following his close decision victory over Alhassan, Buckley maintained that he was now only interested in securing his next bout – against an opponent with equal or more followers than him across social media.

UFC middleweight contender Sean Strickland isn’t a fan of the internet sensation and self-defense guru Dale Brown.

Strickland is fresh off his win over Jack Hermansson at UFC Vegas 47. He appears to be just one step away from a middleweight title shot following the victory and could get a No. 1 contender fight next.

But the added success inside the cage hasn’t tampered Strickland’s ferocity outside of it.

Brown has accumulated a large following on social media due to his unique self-defense instructional videos. He’ll also reportedly be in Joaquin Buckley’s corner during his fight against Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Vegas 48.

During a recent Instagram post, Strickland called out Brown for a fight should they run into each other while Brown is in Las Vegas.

“This Detroit tactical guy, he’s in fucking Vegas,” Strickland said. “I don’t really have anything against him besides he’s a fucking fraud, He’s probably a big, old fucking pussy.

“But that being said, I want to be proved wrong. I want to think you’re a fucking ninja. I want you to disarm me and kick my ass. So I will make you an offer. Cause I think you’re a fucking fraud. Monday, come to the gym. We could fucking spar. We could use plastic knives. We could use real fucking knives. I guarantee I will fucking sodomize you with whatever you pick.

“You should man the fuck up and show everybody you’re such a fucking bad-ass, but you’re probably going to be a pussy and ignore this. So continue to be a fraud, get people killed.” (h/t MiddleEasy)

UFC fighters such as Kevin Holland and Derek Brunson have criticized Strickland for how he handles himself in and out of the Octagon. Strickland also published a nearly violent road rage incident on social media just months ago and also said that he would take pleasure in killing someone in the cage.

Brown has yet to respond to Strickland’s video, and it’s unknown if he’ll take him up on the offer to fight while he’s in Las Vegas.

Who do you want to see Sean Strickland fight next?

Self-defense trainer, Dale Brown, who heads up D.U.S.T (Detriot Urban Survival Training) is reportedly set to corner upcoming UFC Vegas 48 feature, Joaquin Buckley this weekend for his middleweight clash with knockout artist, Abdul Razak Alhassan. TMZ were first to report Brown’s presence in Buckley’s corner for UFC Vegas 48.

Dale Brown, who has seen numerous self-defense videos starring him go viral across social media over the last year, also taught Buckley some techniques during the latter’s visit to the facility.

During his visit, Buckley was disarmed on numerous occasions whilst utilizing various firearms, and was also taken down from a leg grab from Dale Brown – in a very similar situation to his 2020 Knockout of the Year stoppage over Impa Kasanganay.

Joaquin Buckley has scored 10 knockout wins from a total 13 career victories

Returning this weekend at UFC Vegas 48, Buckley is set to meet with the aforenoted knockout finisher, Alhassan in a main card opener at the middleweight limit.

Buckley, a native of St. Louis returned to the winner’s enclosure back in September, earning a Performance of the Night bonus with an eventual third round strikes stoppage victory against Antonio Arroyo.

Snapping a disappointing three-fight losing skid in his most recent outing, Alhassan, who holds a 100 per cent knockout win rate from his 11 professional victories, finished common-opponent, Alessio Di Chirico with a jaw-dropping high kick in just 17 seconds back in August – also earning him a Performance of the Night bonus to boot.

While Dale Brown received props from Buckley for his techniques and ability to attempt to increase survivability, the self-defense trainer’s method’s have been wholly criticized across social media, with many questioning the effectiveness of some particular methods and teachings.

UFC Vegas 48 takes place from the UFC Apex facility with a light heavyweight clash between Johnny Walker, and Jamahal Hill booked to headline. Original headliners; former lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev saw their main event bout cancelled last week, with the pairing moved to UFC 272 on March 5.

Detroit Urban Survival

UFC middleweight contender, Joaquin Buckley recently shared footage of himself training alongside, Dale Brown from the Detroit Urban Survival YouTube channel, who is responsible for numerous viral videos in recent weeks, on how to defend yourself from armed combatants.

Buckley, who was slated to meet with fellow knockout artist, Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Vegas 46 this weekend, saw the bout fall to the wayside after the latter was forced from proceedings for reasons currently undisclosed. The bout is, however, expected to now take place at a UFC Fight Night event on February 28. instead.

Joaquin Buckley holds 10 professional knockout victories across his 17 fight career

The St. Louis native returned to the winner’s enclosure back in September at UFC Vegas 37, stopping Antonio Arroyo with a massive third round knockout. The victory earned Buckley a Performance of the Night bonus.

Posting a near-six minute video on his social media, Buckley, who appeared quite sceptical about the aforenoted, Brown’s ability as a self-defense instructor, was informed of the three main principles thought at Detroit Urban Survival: Escaping, controlling, and lastly, immobilizing threat.

Cook, from Detroit Urban Survival, then demonstrated on Buckley how a threat could be immobilized via a stomp to the assailant’s knee, an eye poke, or the crushing of his hyoid in his neck.

Equipping Buckley with a knife, Cook encouraged the 27-year-old stab him, before eventually disarming Buckley. Demonstrating a hip toss, Buckley, who was taken down onto protective floor mats, remarked, “it ain’t no joke”.

Armed with a handgun, Buckley was once more disarmed as Cook then reversed and pointed the gun at him – leading Buckley to wince in pain as his finger remained in the trigger guard, before jokingly asking Cook, “you want me to pay your bills?”

Buckley then finds himself in a similar position to his infamous Knockout of the Year of Impa Kasangany in July 2020, where he scored a breathtaking spinning back kick knockout, but rather than execute the kick once more in a similar position, Buckley appeared to be immobilized once again.

Rising to notoriety in recent months, Cook, who heads up Detroit Urban Survival had his fair share of critics who question both his approach, and the actual survivability and real-world application of the manoeuvres he is charging his students to learn.
