Conor McGregor has found his way back into the headlines for everything but his MMA career, but even if he does make it back to the Octagon, there are apparently some stipulations he’s bringing with him.

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley says the 155-pound champ refuses to fight on a pay-per-view with any other high grossing fighters.

Woodley discussed the word on McGregor’s current relationship with the UFC to MMA Junkie Radio and the demands McGregor is now making as a multi-millionaire following his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in August:

“From what I hear, if he’s on the card, he doesn’t want any pay-per-view grossing fighters on the card with him. Because he doesn’t want to feed us any more, which I can respect. The dude is the draw. You can hate all you want, but he’s the draw. He’s that dude right now.”

“They’ve kind of opened up the door for Conor to do whatever the hell he wants to. He’s slapping commissioners and doing whatever he wants. The blueprint is kind of set for Conor to have his own set of rules, and then everybody else follows the old-school rules.”

“The people that are going to watch me are going to watch Conor. There are people that watch Conor that might not watch me. So I can see where he’s coming from, in basically feeding us to get pay-per-view. I really don’t have an issue with that.

McGregor hasn’t stepped foot in the Octagon since defeating Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight strap back in November 2016. The aforementioned Mayweather bout proved to be a massive financial windfall for the UFC champion, making his MMA return uncertain at best.

UFC President Dana White said recently that he wasn’t sure if or when McGregor will return, citing the money he had made from the Mayweather bout and the grueling lifestyle of a professional fighter.

In McGregor’s absence, Tony Ferguson is now interim lightweight champion, but there’s no guarantee McGregor’s potential comeback fight would be against him.

Conor McGregor just can’t stop making headlines for incidents that have nothing to do with actually fighting.

One day after a prominent Irish crime reporter believed him to be in ‘very serious danger,’ after he allegedly got into a brawl with the Irish mob in Dublin on Sunday nightMcGregor issued a response to those who were supposedly looking for him.

McGregor’s dad wasn’t worried about it all, but the UFC lightweight champion, who has yet to make a title defense since winning the belt in November 2016, has now angered an authority of an entirely different sort.

According to a report from the Irish Independent, McGregor no-showed a court appearance in Dublin’s Blanchardstown District Court for a speeding violation earlier today, a hearing that had already been adjourned twice this month. McGregor’s solicitor Graham Kenny, who was present to enter a guilty plea for McGregor, said he would call McGregor to come to court and the hearing was scheduled for later today.

But judge Miriam Walsh was none too pleased by the brash MMA superstar’s decision not to show up, stating that he needed to be present as he was ‘disrespecting the court’:

“I’m getting nothing but fingers from Mr McGregor, if he wants to make a case he has to be here,” she said.

“This is absolute disrespect to the court.”

Walsh also went on to say that a bench warrant would be ‘coming his way’ if he failed to show up, which was revealed he eventually did to pay a small fine:

A bigger story than his speeding ticket, which he was cited for after breaking the 100km/h limit on N7 Naas Road back in March, was his short response to reporters outside of the court, which many took as a direct response to the mob members who are allegedly looking for him.

Just another day in the life of MMA’s biggest star. Now if fans could only see him fight in the Octagon.

Reports have been flying out of Ireland that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor’s life is in ‘very, very serious danger’ following his alleged Dublin bar fight with a notorious Irish gangster last weekend, but his father, Tony McGregor, doesn’t seem to be all that worried.

‘The Notorious’ MMA star’s father recently spoke to Irish Mirror (via Balls.ie) to offer his view of the situation, offering the stance that it had grown completely out of control and that his son had nothing to worry about:

“It’s grown legs and it’s getting that ridiculous – it’s become funny. We have nothing to fear here whatsoever. There’s no one after us for anything.”

McGregor insisted that he and his family were law-abiding, and offered an odd comparison of his son’s current situation, which he views as almost total nonsense:

“We’re a law-abiding family and we’ve stayed a law-abiding family. As a matter of fact, right now I’m going out to buy my TV licence. I’d view 95% of that story as nonsense and the other 5% is overly exaggerated. And that’s it.”

Finally, Tony McGregor also heard the rumors that the Irish Gardai were preparing to approach his son with an order declaring his life was in official danger, but he also shot down that possibility by confirming his beliefs that guards wouldn’t be looking for Conor because they had no reason to.

With that established, McGregor revealed that Conor was reportedly at home with his son and girlfriend Dee Devlin as their family got ready for Christmas:

“Guards have no reason to be in touch. Why would they?”

“He’s at home with his son. We’re all just settling down for Christmas now. I’ve just got the grandson’s presents in today, they just came in from America.

“I’ll be wrapping them, putting them under the tree for the big day. That’s it.”

Tyron Woodley is not happy with UFC President Dana White after his recent comments.

For the past few weeks, rumors have been circulating that “The Chosen One’s” next title defense could come against Nate Diaz at December 30’s UFC 219.

When White was asked about this at a recent media day, he claimed that one of the UFC’s lawyers, Hunter Campbell, who joined the company nine months ago, got carried away ‘playing matchmaker.’

Campbell has been involved in negotiating deals with some of the UFC’s biggest stars (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“One of our attorneys here started playing matchmaker and — he has a good rapport with the Diaz brothers — and he basically said [to Nate Diaz], ‘What if you could fight Tyron Woodley?’ Me and Sean (Shelby) were like, ‘How does he deserve to fight Tyron Woodley? There’s a f*cking list of guys that are waiting to fight Tyron Woodley and this dude’s gonna fight … what are you talking about?’

“So he kind of went off the reservation a little bit and started playing matchmaker. That’s why you started hearing Woodley saying, ‘I got offered a fight with Nate Diaz,’ and we’re like, ‘No, there was never a fight.’ So there was really never an offer for Woodley vs. Diaz. That’s not true.

“?First of all, Woodley’s been talking about, ‘I need shoulder surgery. I need shoulder surgery,’ and then … ‘I’ll fight Nate Diaz’ and then starts calling him out and shit. It was a nightmare. None of that was true.”

Woodley reached out to MMA Fighting to respond to White’s comments, claiming that the UFC boss ‘constantly demotes’ him rather than do his job and help promote him:

“Delusional Dana constantly demotes me as a fighter when the job is to promote his fighters, especially champions,” Woodley said. “Why would I get in camp, and why would Nate give a 15 million dollar purse request if there was no fight? It’s obvious they haven’t found their blockbuster headliner yet. This was a reality, and they know it. The inability to come to financial terms with Nate killed it.”
