Given their longstanding Twitter beef, it looks like Ben Askren and Dillon Danis are finally open to competing against each other.

The pair have gone at each other’s throats for a while now, most recently engaging in a back-and-forth last week. However, for the first time, Askren has finally become receptive to the idea of facing Danis, even if it’s in a grappling match.

“At this point it’s my MMA career,” Askren said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show this week about his main focus (via BJ Penn). “When I am done with that if I chose to take part in a grappling contest it would be Dillion Danis.

“Obviously, he challenged me to a grappling match. After my MMA career, that’s something I would definitely do.”

Danis would respond while Askren was on the air with Helwani:

“Biggest grappling match in the history of the sport Dillon Danis vs @Benaskren let’s f*cking do it!” he tweeted.

However, like Askren said, it’s unlikely to happen until after his mixed martial arts career is over. That’s because Danis is currently in Bellator and a cross-promotional bout with the UFC looks unlikely.

Things could change if Danis were to jump ship to the UFC later on, however.

Dillon Danis has been trash talking seemingly everyone in the UFC.

Yet, this past weekend, he said he has hit rock bottom as he attended a Tyron Woodley concert.

“you know you hit rock bottom when you go to a @TWooodley concert,” he wrote on Twitter.

Tyron Woodley, of course, has released several songs and has spent time on his music career. He has recorded songs with Wiz Khalifa and others. Yet, Dillon Danis is still not impressed with his music.

But, this could very well be just Dillon Danis just being himself. He trash talks seemingly everyone. He has taken shots at likes of Ben Askren, Jon Jones, and even YouTube stars in Logan and Jake Paul.

Many fighters have responded to him, even Jones after Dillon Danis said he offered to do a grappling match with him.

“I offered to do a grappling match with him,” Danis said on an episode Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “If we fought in MMA, I feel like, from his stance and how tall he is, if I did an Imanari roll I would take his leg home with me.

“Why not? I come from jiu-jitsu where we fight the biggest guys,” he added when asked why he believed he could overcome the size disadvantage. “I’ve fought guys that are like 300 pounds in jiujitsu. You have to do it. I fought seven of them in the same day. So I don’t know man, I’m a different kind of martial artist. I’ve been doing this since I was a kid, training with anybody and anywhere.”

Jones then responded with the following:

“Dude, nothing is going on with Dillon Danis,” Jones said. “I think he knows I’m the type of guy to respond and it’s getting his following up. So, I think that’s what’s going on with him. At the end of the day, I don’t come out and talk trash about these guys. That just came out of nowhere. I feel like I’ve been in this sport for over 10 years now, some guys just like to bring up my name because it looks cool.”

“I wouldn’t grapple him but I’d put my foot in his mouth,” he later added.

Dillon Danis Wants To Fight Khabib Nurmagomedov Teammate Islam Makhachev

Bellator’s Dillon Danis has asked for a fight against a UFC fighter once again. This time, he has called for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s teammate in Islam Makhachev.

Of course, Makhachev was a part of the UFC 229 brawl that involved Danis in the corner of Conor McGregor. The two camps have had a rivalry since Nurmagomedov and the Irishman fought, and now Danis took to social media to ask to fight Makhachev.

Immediately, Makhachev and many AKA teammates responded to Danis.

Then, Deron Winn, who trains at AKA, gave his thoughts on the fight, where he warned Danis it would be a bad idea.

Danis who is 2-0, last fought back at Bellator 222 in June where he submitted Max Humphrey in the first round. Before that, he submitted Kyle Walker at Bellator 198 in his pro-MMA debut in the first round.

Makhachev, meanwhile, is set to fight Davi Ramos at UFC 242. Before that, he last fought in April where he beat Arman Tsarukyan by decision. The Russian is 6-1 inside the Octagon with notable wins over Nik Lentz, Gleison Tibau, and Kajan Johnson.

It seems unlikely this fight will ever happen given the fact they are in two different promotions.

Who do you think would win the fight between Dillon Danis and Islam Makhachev if it does happen one day?

Dillon Danis Gives Props To Nate Diaz For ‘Masterful’ UFC 241 Performance

Despite their past beef, Bellator prospect Dillon Danis could only give props to Nate Diaz for his showing at UFC 241 last night.

Diaz put in a dominant performance on his way to a clear unanimous decision victory over Anthony Pettis. Outperforming Pettis in the striking as well as grappling, Diaz notably won the fight 30-27 on all three judges’ scorecards. It was all the more impressive considering it was his first outing in nearly three years when he last lost a majority decision to Conor McGregor.

Because of his rivalry with McGregor, Diaz naturally had some back-and-forth trash talk with the Irishman’s friend and training partner Danis. But even considering all that, the Bellator star could only applaud the Stockton native’s performance.

“I know I have had my beef with Nate Diaz but you gotta give respect where it’s due that was a masterful performance,” Danis tweeted.

It’s a welcome change from Danis, but not one that fans can expect to see more regularly. After all, the 25-year-old has made it a habit of going after the well-known UFC stars on social media.

Regardless, were you as impressed with Diaz’s performance as Danis was? And do you think Danis will go back to trash talking Diaz eventually?

Dillon Danis has become a heel of MMA and he has embraced every second of it.

Following UFC Newark where Colby Covington beat Robbie Lawler by decision, Jon Jones took to Twitter to say the following.

“Robbie just the let the whole world down,” he wrote.

Immediately, Dillon Danis took to social media to reply to “Bones” and like usual took a dig at the light heavyweight champion.

“something you should know a lot about,” Danis replied.

Of course, Jon Jones has had a ton of legal issues which has resulted in him not being able to fight and being pulled from fights at the last second. Along with the picogram, USADA issues.

Nonetheless, Dillon Danis continues to play the heel role and plays it well. Although he is just 2-0 as a pro, with both wins coming by submission, he gets on the nerves of many fighters. The Bellator fighter last fought back Bellator 222 where he submitted max Humphrey in the first round by armbar. The SBG Ireland-product is also the jiu-jitsu coach of Conor McGregor.

Jones, meanwhile, last fought back at UFC 239 where he beat Thiago Santos by split-decision. Before then, he beat Anthony Smith by decision at UFC 235, and at UFC 232 he TKO’d Alexander Gustafsson. The Gus fight marked his return to the Octagon where he has been active ever since and says he would like to fight again in November or December.

Colby Covington opened many eyes about his ability to fight during his UFC Newark performance. Dillon Danis was not impressed, though.

Covington dominated Robbie Lawler over five rounds to win a lopsided unanimous decision in their UFC Newark headliner last night. Despite his brash attitude and antics, even his detractors couldn’t deny that Covington was the real deal as he backed up his trash talk.

However, Danis found faults with the performance and believes he would put a beating on “Chaos”:

“Colby is so sloppy i thought I was watching ufc 1 with those choke attempts ? if we fought the cops couldn’t even save him from the beating i would put on his b*tch ass,” Danis tweeted.

Danis was referring to the number of times Covington was in a position to put Lawler in a rear-naked choke submission, only to never follow through with it. It was an aspect of the fight that Ben Askren also commented on.

However, it didn’t make a difference in the end as Covington got one of the biggest wins of his career and is now set to face current champion Kamaru Usman next. Danis, on the other hand, is still very early into his mixed martial arts career and only became 2-0 earlier this year.

Regardless, what do you make of the Bellator prospect’s comments?
