Dana White Shuts Down Talks of Dillon Danis Fighting in the UFC: ‘A total unprofessional clown show’

Don’t expect to see Dillon Danis step inside the Octagon anytime soon.

Earlier this year, Danis proved himself capable of selling a fight, though his tactics were nothing short of questionable. Leading up to his fairly uneventful showdown with Logan Paul at the Misfits Boxing event on October 14, Danis targeted the WWE Superstar and his fiancee, Nina Agdal, on social media, posting NSFW images of the Danish swimsuit model and a host of memes poking fun at their relationship.

The harassment went so far that Agdal ended up suing Dillon Danis for allegedly violating state and federal ‘revenge porn’ laws.

Even that was a bit too much for the UFC CEO.

“I have no beef with the kid at all, I’ve probably said two words to him in my whole life — but every time he’s around, sh*t going down,” White said about Danis on The Full Send podcast. “We can’t have that stuff going on here.”

The biggest issue for White is the frequent physical altercations that Danis finds himself involved in. In attendance for UFC 295 in Madison Square Garden, Danis reportedly engaged in a scuffle with veteran MMA fighter Steven Peterson outside of the building.

“I didn’t know that [Dillon Danis at UFC 295] until after when he was out front fighting with everybody,” White said. “I saw it on Instagram.”

The Tactics Dillon Danis Uses to sell fights are what will ultimately keep him out of the UFC

Though White can’t deny that Danis has proven himself to be an attention-getter in combat sports, the continuous violence and mayhem that surrounds his every appearance is something the UFC simply can’t have, contrary to popular belief.

“A lot of people will see when guys get into it on stage or something starts to happen they’re like, ‘Oh they must love this!’ No, we don’t love it,” White said. “We don’t need that sh*t to sell fights. The athletic commission goes crazy, and people start getting fined and they come after us.

“It’s our job to keep that sh*t under control. That’s why where you see these other events with guys and everything breaks out like that, it’s a f*cking total unprofessional clown show” (h/t MMA Fighting).

With Dillon Danis’ Octagon dreams officially dashed, it now appears that the former Bellator standout will fade away into retirement. But fear not. ‘El Jefe’ has plenty of ammunition to keep things spicy on his social media channels.

Alex Pereira is Pulling for Dillon Danis to get a UFC contract: ‘He’s a Very Talented Kid’

Alex Pereira hopes to see Dillon Danis one day compete inside the Octagon.

On Saturday night, Alex Pereira will step into the UFC 295 main event for his third world title fight in less than a year. After claiming the middleweight championship with a stunning fifth-round knockout of Israel Adesanya last year, the ‘Brazilian Boogeyman’ will look to become a two-division titleholder as he challenges the returning Jiri Prochazka for the vacant light heavyweight strap.

Addressing members of the press during Wednesday’s UFC 295 media day, Alex Pereira was asked about his relationship with embattled BJJ specialist Dillon Danis. ‘Poatan’ had worked with Danis in the weeks leading up to the outspoken star’s grudge match with Logan Paul. Since then, Danis has expressed a strong interest in signing with the UFC, something Pereira fully supports.

We did two night sessions, one before the [Jan] Blachowicz fight which was MMA training, and another one for this fight he was having with Logan [Paul],” Pereira said when asked about his experience working with Danis.

“First, we did an MMA session and I could see that he’s a very talented kid. We had two night sessions. He’s a great guy and the fact that he’s actually in negotiations with the UFC, or trying to get in, I think is awesome and I’m rooting for him.”

Dana White Offers a Curious Answer When Asked About Signing Dillon Danis

It’s not the first time Alex Pereira has fielded questions regarding his work with Danis. Speaking with Ariel Helwani, the former UFC middleweight champ was very complimentary of Danis’ efforts.

It was great training, he said he enjoyed rounds with a specific type of sparring; it was very nice training. It was the second time because the first time we trained was a few months ago. Dillon was able to pick up a lot of stuff today, so it was very good,” Pereira said during an appearance on The MMA Hour.

During a Power Slap press conference last month, UFC CEO Dana White was asked about potentially signing Danis to the roster. “I don’t know, I haven’t even actually thought about that,” White said, before quickly turning his attention to the next question. The fact that White skirted around the question so fast only added to the speculation that the New Jersey native had already been in talks with the promotion.

Dillon Danis scored back-to-back first-round submissions under the Bellator MMA banner in 2019 but has been absent from mixed martial arts since then. His scrap with Logan Paul under the Misfits Boxing banner left a lot to be desired, but it proved without a shadow of a doubt that Danis can sell a fight, making him a potentially valuable asset for Dana White and Co.

Logan Paul reveals drug test results from Dillon Danis fight I wanna address the steroid allegations

Logan Paul posts his drug tests results after speculation that the American has been taking performance enhancing drugs.

Earlier this month, Logan Paul would defeat Dillon Danis after an extremely ugly and personal build-up. Neither man was particularly impressive and after all the talk of knockouts and pain the pair were underwhelming and produced little action.

Still though, the win will undoubtedly still fuel Paul’s ever-growing ego and belief in his at best, novice, boxing skills.

Logan Paul shares VADA testing results

One attack from Danis during their build up was Pauls’ alleged use of PEDs. Danis is not the only one to accuse the American, fans and experts alike to share the believed that Paul takes some sort of drug.

However, Paul has always refuted any PED accusation and recently release his VADA drug testing results.

“I got my results back from VADA today,” Paul said. “I wanna address the steroids allegations before you see any news. I wanna confess … I have been taking a lot of Prime Energy and putting it in my mouth and then swallowing it. That gives me a good boost for my workouts which makes me have a good physique. (H/T MMA Mania)

The results are negative, haters, you’re gonna have to keep trying. No performance-enhancing drugs, like I said. Good luck next time though, you (expletive) dorks!”

This information is extremely misleading, and Paul knows it. Without consistent and randomized drug testing, these tests can be passed easily – especially with someone who has the resources that Paul has.

Testing agencies often get back positive results on a level far less than can be expected when considering the amount of athletes that are on steroids. The exact amount is disputed, but on a safe estimate of 4% still does not cut it.

Dana White unsure on signing Dillon Danis to the UFC I haven't thought about it

UFC CEO Dana White responds to rumours regarding Dillon Danis possibly signing with the promotion.

The career of Dillon Danis has been an odd one to say the least, a once promising MMA fighter turned to cannon fodder for influencer boxers. The 30-year-old came to prominence through his links with Conor McGregor, heling the Irishman out with his BJJ.

After being signed to Bellator, Danis would only compete twice for the promotion against low-level competition. Then came the in juries and out-of-competition troubles that has forced Danis to not enter the cage since 2019.

Then Danis would sign to fight YouTuber Logan Paul, absolutely thrashing Paul on social media in the build-up to the fight. However, his performance was awful, landing in the singly digits and displayed little boxing skill.

Dillon Danis wants in the UFC

His performance and lack of MMA activity has still not stopped Danis from claiming a UFC move should be next. ‘El jefe’ was recently let go from Bellator and has called for a move to the UFC.

“I think the UFC now will see my potential in selling fights and everything like that. Sign me,” Danis said. “Let’s do it, Give me the biggest fight, give me anybody you want. Just don’t send anybody you want back. I’ll beat them all.  I want to prove what I’m saying is true, because it pissed me off that people don’t believe in me, so I want to go out there and I’ll fight any one of them.”

When asked about the move , White would simply answer – “I don’t know, I haven’t even actually thought about that.”

to his credit, Danis has managed to consistently grab headlines throughout his absence from competition, and when he did finally fight, he was arguably the biggest talking point of the event.

Dillon Danis released from Bellator MMA contract enters free agency

Undefeated welterweight grappler, Dillon Danis has officially been released from his multi-fight contract with the Scott Coker-led, Bellator MMA this weekend – bringing an end to his two-fight stint with the organization.

Danis, a who boasts an unbeaten 2-0 professional mixed martial arts record, has yet to compete inside the cage since he locked up a first round armbar submission win over Max Humphrey at Bellator 222 in New York City.

Just last weekend, New Jersey native, Danis made his return to combat sports competition, fighting professional wrestling star and podcast host, Logan Paul in a tense, bad-blooded professional boxing match – suffering a disqualification loss in their Manchester showdown.

Prior and after the bout, Danis, a training partner of former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor, called for multiple debuts in the Octagon – welcoming fights with the likes of Nate Diaz, Khamzat Chimaev, and Kevin Holland to name a few.

And off the back of his boxing match with Paul, it seems Danis will be free to test the waters and markets, landing his release from Bellator MMA officially.

“Dillon Danis is a free agent,” Ariel Helwani posted on his official X account. “Bellator officially released Danis this weekend, sources say.”

A decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, Danis, who made his mixed martial arts debut back in 2018 with a first round toe hold submission win over Kyle Walker under the Bellator MMA banner, had been sidelined from combat sports competition amid a slew of knee injuries, undergoing multiple surgical procedures to address.

Dillon Danis calls for fight with Islam Makhachev after UFC 294

And off the back of his release from Bellator MMA, Danis has immediately took aim at last night’s UFC 294 headliner, Islam Makhachev, vowing to “play with” the lightweight champion, who stopped featherweight kingpin, Alexander Volkanovski with a thunderous first round high-kick KO in their title fight rematch.

“Unfinished Business,” Dillon Danis posted on his official X account. “Mark my words, I’ll play with this inbred.”

Logan Paul denies Dillon Danis a rematch in MMA: ‘He doesn’t deserve the platform’

Logan Paul

If you were hoping to see Logan Paul and Dillon Danis run it back inside a cage, we’ve got bad news for you.

On Saturday, October 14, the pair of social media stars strapped on the eight-ounce gloves for a clash inside Manchester’s AO Arena. After nearly six rounds of lackluster action that saw Danis land a total of 16 strikes, Paul emerged as the winner when Danis was disqualified for attempting a takedown in the waning seconds of the contest.

Looking back on the bout 72 hours later, Logan Paul squashed any hopes of seeing a rematch between the two in mixed martial arts, noting that he initially agreed to it only if Danis surrendered his entire fight purse to him. Of course, with a pending lawsuit and some potentially hefty legal fees looming, we can’t see Danis handing over his paycheck, and neither can Paul.

Logan Paul says Dillon Danis doesn’t deserve a rematch

Aside from that, Paul has no interest in giving Danis another platform to run his mouth and make money.

“I said I would if he gave me his whole purse, which is not going to happen, obviously,” Paul said during the latest episode of the IMPAULSIVE podcast. “He doesn’t deserve the platform. We saw the kind of person he is. I walked into the arena to boos. I left to cheers. No one likes that dirty fight sh*t, bro.

You came to box. Respect the sport. Respect me as an opponent. Back up your words. Are you a man? You can’t talk that much sh*t for three months, you can’t try to ruin someone’s life, and then come in there with that kind of performance” (h/t MMA Fighting).

In the months leading up to their critically panned showdown, Dillon Danis made things as dirty as possible, going after Logan Paul’s fiancee, swimsuit model Nina Agdal. The BJJ specialist posted a plethora of memes, comments, and NSFW images of the Dane online, incessantly trolling her and poking fun at past relationships.

Before long, Agdal decided to fight back, securing a restraining order that prevented Danis from posting any sexually explicit photos of her without permission. She also filed a lawsuit against Danis, claiming that he had violated state and federal ‘revenge porn’ laws during his online onslaught.

With an MMA rematch against Logan Paul no longer in the cards, Danis’ next fight will likely be in the courtroom.
