Jorge Masvidal “baptized” pro wrestling legend Chris Jericho during the Miamian’s own baptism into the world of professional wrestling.

American Top Team (ATT) owner Dan Lambert has been making frequent appearances in pro wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as of late, and he’s been bringing some of his star clients along with him. Jorge Masvidal is among the names that have accompanied Lambert in his AEW voyage, but an upcoming episode of AEW Rampage will be the first time that Masvidal will be seen participating in the choreographed violence.

SPOILER ALERT: On tomorrow’s episode of AEW Rampage, ATT members inserted their dominance over the promotion when they invaded the program nWo-style. At one point, UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal “laid out” former WWE and AEW champion Chris Jericho and seemed to take great pleasure in doing so. Peep it out in the clip below.

With execution and a crowd reaction like that, Masvidal might have a future in the wrestling business if the UFC doesn’t consistently address his fighter-pay concerns. When Masvidal does return to the Octagon, however, he hopes it’ll be in a fight that gets him as close as possible to another title shot. From the looks of things, he may be one or two KOs away from a shot at the AEW title as well, shout out and fair warning to Kenny Omega.

What do you think of Jorge Masvidal’s foray into the world of professional wrestling?

Leon Edwards: I Need That Dana White Privilege

Leon Edwards believes he is in need of some “Dana White privilege.”

Edwards is the number three-ranked UFC welterweight. He has gone 9-0, 1 NC in his last 10 outings. He hasn’t lost a bout since Dec. 2015. The loss came at the hands of current UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.

Despite his long string of success inside the Octagon, “Rocky” has yet to receive a title shot. During an appearance on MMAFighting’s The MMA Hour, Edwards told host Ariel Helwani the one thing he believes he may need to get over the hump.

“I can not answer that, Ariel, to be fair. Like you said, it’s been, what, six years since my last loss? Colby went and got beat by the champion, went and fought Woodley, the fight ended by injury, sat for over a year, and got a title shot? When I go out and get 10 fights in a row, ‘He needs one more. He needs one more.’ Every time, it’s one more. And I feel they’re trying to get me beat, but I cannot lose, and I will not lose. I truly believe that I will be the next world champion, and they’re trying to hold me back from it. But it’s coming. I truly believe it.

“I need that Dana White privilege…”

Edwards was last seen in action back in June. He competed in a five-round welterweight tilt with Nate Diaz at UFC 263. Leon Edwards won the fight via unanimous decision. It was mostly a one-sided fight until Edwards got rocked by a one-two combination near the end of the fight.

Edwards was passed over for a title shot in favor of Colby Covington. Covington will get a second crack at Usman’s 170-pound gold in the main event of UFC 268. The event will take place inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Former CEO of Golden Boy Promotions Richard Schaefer is the lead advisor for Jon Jones and has shared a timeline for the return of the former 205-pound king.

Richard Schaefer is a well-known boxing promoter and the executive now responsible for negotiating on behalf of Jones. The prominent businessman is said to have brokered hundreds of boxing deals. While an agreement has yet to be struck with the UFC superstar, Schaefer has stressed that moving up to heavyweight for Jones is a meticulously planned project.

Recently, Jones posted a video on Instagram showing him pound through a leg workout.

Fans have not witnessed “Bones” draped in black and gold since February of last year. Many are starting to wonder if Jones will ever make his highly anticipated move to the heavyweight division. Featured on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, Schaefer clarified the intentions of the former champion.

“He was very clear from the very beginning: He wants to fight for the heavyweight championship. And so I sat down with Dana, with Hunter. And first, they tried maybe to do a comeback fight, or an interim fight, or this or that,” Schaefer revealed.

Richard Schaefer Expands On Jon Jones Negotiations

When asked about the potential date we might see Jones back in the Octagon, Schaefer explained that the 34-year-old won’t be available for a 2021 return, despite initial hopes.

“First, we were thinking about maybe November or December, but he really then felt that he wants to train. He’s the ultimate professional. I mean, I honestly have only seen once an athlete which is so structured and so strategic in his training, and that’s Floyd Mayweather. And I think that’s why they both are the GOATs. Richard Schaefer said. One is the GOAT of boxing; the other one is the GOAT of MMA. They go about it in a very strategic manner.”

With an emphasis on bulking up in the correct manner, the boxing executive acknowledged that the accolades of Jones are not by happenstance. Schaefer also shared that Jones is already 260 pounds and has a goal of reaching 275 pounds before all is said and done.

“So he said, ‘Look, I’m not gonna be ready in November or December. I want to bulk up. I want to bulk up in a smart way, in a strategic way, not just gain weight and be a big heavyweight. I want to gain the right weight.

By the way, I talked to him yesterday. He’s 260 pounds now…260 muscle, strong, explosive. Schaefer continued. And his goal is to go to 275 and basically be the biggest and baddest heavyweight the UFC has ever seen.”

The world has been waiting patiently for the former champ’s Octagon return, especially since Francis Ngannou began his heavyweight title reign by defeating Stipe Miocic. After negotiations for the megafight stalled, the UFC moved on quickly by offering Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane an opportunity to fight for an interim title at UFC 265. With Gane now the interim titleholder, he is expected to face Ngannou in early 2022. And it sounds like a bigger, badder Jon Jones may be awaiting the winner.

Jake Paul has sent a final message to Tommy Fury to take the fight.

After Paul and Fury both won on the same Showtime boxing card in Cleveland, many thought that would be the next fight. Since then, however, it appears talks have stalled as Paul came out and said Fury turned him down twice and gave him a $1 million final offer.

To no surprise, Fury responded and made it clear $1 million was not enough money for this magnitude of a fight. Yet, Jake Paul says he is giving Fury the biggest purse of his career so he’s not sure why the Englishman isn’t making the fight.

“This is the last time I’m speaking about this guy if we don’t end up fighting because I’m starting to get pissed off,” Jake Paul said in a video he released on social media. “Tommy Fury’s about to fumble the biggest bag of his life. Tommy, I made you famous. I gave you the biggest payday of your life. You came to the US, got your US debut for your dream to come true. I gave you a chance to shine in front of the whole entire world, and now I’m offering to quadruple the biggest payday of your life that I gave you to fight.

“For everyone at home, this is what happens when you give someone clout and you give them an ego,” Paul continued. “They start to think they’re better than they actually are. I have dozens of other fighters calling me out every single week, Tommy. You’re replaceable. It’s the same thing that I told Dillon Danis in our DMs.”

Paul continued with his final message to Fury to accept the fight and showed him how Dillon Danis did the same thing asking for money and lost the chance to box the brash YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Although Fury is not the biggest boxing star, Paul says it’s the fight he wants and he hopes the Brit accepts the fight.

“I told Dillon there was definitely potential in negotiating up to $1 million. And if I have to some of my own purse to get this done, I will,” Paul said. “I told Dillon, ‘I personally want to fight you the most but A, If you don’t take it right now, the odds of us fighting in the future are very slim; and B, obviously, this is the biggest fight you will most likely ever see; and C, we have other offers out there, so you need to make an offer in less than 72 hours.’

“Dillon fumbled his bag. He didn’t want to fight. And guess what? I am never gonna fight Dillon Danis ever. He missed the biggest opportunity of his life. He thought I was joking around. And now, Dillon Danis is in jail. Tommy, do you want to end up in jail? Take the fight, Tommy,” Paul concluded.

Whether or not Fury will respond to Paul’s final message is uncertain. However, it does appear that time is running out to make the fight.

Do you think we will see Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury?

Dana White Feels Usman’s Status As #1 P4P Fighter Isn’t Up For Debate

Dana White believes there is one clear pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC, and his name is Kamaru Usman.

At UFC 268, Kamaru Usman will headline Madison Square Garden in a rematch for the ages when he battles nemesis Colby Covington. This fight will feature two of the best fighters in the world today meeting once again in the primes of their careers. In fact, if you ask UFC President Dana White, the bout will feature the single best fighter on the planet today in Usman. Speaking with The Daily Telegraph recently, White gave a detailed explanation as to why that is.

“Kamaru Usman, in my opinion, is the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world right now,” White began. “If you look at what this guy has done, he’s got four successful title defenses, 14-0, undefeated in the UFC, longest win streak in UFC welterweight history, how about this: His takedown defense is the highest in UFC history. It’s 100 percent! And he fought Colby Covington. The guy has spent 0 time on his back. It’s never happened. He’s never been put on his back.

“Then, you start looking at the people that he’s beat: He beat Masvidal twice, Gilbert Burns, Colby Covington, Tyron Woodley, Rafael dos Anjos, Demian Maia, Leon Edwards, and after this next fight if he can beat Colby Covington, he’ll have beat Colby Covington twice. So imagine the type of pressure that goes along with this type of a record. Every time you go in, the expectations are set higher…

“And now, I’m saying—and I’m right; I’m not wrong—he’s the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world.”

As firm as White is in his stance about Usman, the official UFC rankings panel apparently believes there is still plenty to debate. As of yesterday’s latest ranking update, Usman remains ranked #2 on the pound-for-pound list behind Jon Jones despite the fact that Jones has not competed in over a year and a half.

Usman himself believes Jones should be #1 if it were about career achievements. However, in terms of present-day performances and activity, Usman agrees with the UFC boss that he’s the clear choice for #1. When you listen to White break down his reasons why, it becomes difficult to argue against it.

Do you agree with Dana White? Is Kamaru Usman the clear-cut #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world right now?

Conor McGregor is not ashamed of his notoriously awful baseball pitch.

Fans of the Chicago Cubs are well aware of “The Curse of the Billy Goat” that is said to have plagued the baseball team for over 70 years until finally winning another World Series in 2016. Unfortunately for loyal Cubs fans, they may have another curse on their hands that began September 21, 2021: The Curse of the Irish Gorilla.

After all, the first pitch thrown out by McGregor prior to the Cubs’ home game Tuesday was so bad that it may have been linked to some form of black magic or the occult. Like a wizard flicking his wrist, McGregor may have cursed the beloved Cubbies for another couple of generations just for the heck of it as he recovers from leg surgery.

Without considering or being privy to the accuracy of this possibility, the public has deemed the pitch to be fully intentional and unspeakably bad. This resulted in MMA Twitter having a field day with the Irishman for his flagrant first pitch, which you can view below if you are yet to witness it.

However, in spite of the jeers from afar and the post-pitch roast sessions running in full effect, McGregor has no shame about what unfolded on that baseball mound. In fact, as much as this may beggar belief, he actually sounds proud of the pitch.

“The most devastating first pitch ever seen in the iconic Wrigley Field!” McGregor beamed with pride during an interview after the pitch

The interviewer then gently nudged McGregor to elaborate on this assessment, and the Irishman happily obliged.

“Well, the venom is there. The power is there. It’s a little off accurate-wise, but I’m on the one leg. You can see me based fully on the left leg that was just recently injured,” McGregor explained. “I’m happy with that! I’ll take that on board!”

When commenting further on the aforementioned “venom” behind the pitch, McGregor feels that his throw was fully comparable to the aces in the big leagues when it comes strictly to power.

“And if you could mention the power, I don’t think there’s much power difference between mine and them out there,” McGregor argued. “Just the accuracy is a little off. I’m happy with it. It was either lob it friendly or aim to take him off his feet. And if that was on target, he would’ve had a problem, I’d say.”

Though the Notorious One appeared to be in good spirits after his viral throw, some fans volunteered to offer their hero some emotional support just in case.

What do you think of Conor McGregor’s review of his first pitch?
