The UFC is quietly contemplating a change to move up the start times of its pay-per-view broadcasts one hour, MMA Fighting has learned.
No final decision has yet been made, though a source in the organization confirmed to MMA Fighting that they are “considering the move for all events.”
Two sources confirmed that at least one date will definitely be impacted. The change will be in play for the first time at April’s massive UFC 129 event in Toronto, which will take place on April 30. On that night, the pay-per-view telecast will begin at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, one hour ahead of its usual time.
Jon Olav Einemo is the newest member of the UFC heavyweight roster.
The organization has officially signed the Norwegian big man, a UFC official confirmed with MMA Fighting on Monday. No word just yet on the exact terms of the deal and when he will debut inside the Octagon.

They are two of the greatest fighters of all time, and they fight under the same promotional banner, yet we rarely hear the names of Dan Henderson and Fedor Emelianenko paired together for a potential superfight. Well, I’m here to start the push. Henderson vs. Emelianenko is a fight Strikeforce should seriously consider as the next one for the legends of the sport.
On Saturday night, Henderson won yet another piece of hardware to add to an already impressive collection. After knocking out Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante, the 40-year-old now boasts the promotion’s light-heavyweight championship. Aside from that, he’s held PRIDE 183- and 205-pound titles, the PRIDE 2005 welterweight Grand Prix crown, the RINGS King of Kings tournament championship back in 1999, the UFC middleweight tournament championship in 1998, and of course, he was a two-time U.S. wrestling Olympian.
He’s won both tournament and championship titles in three different decades, a testament to the longevity of one of the most decorated American fighters of all time, who has amazingly been considered among the pound-for-pound best in the sport for over a decade, ever since beating heavyweights Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Renato Sobral in one night to capture the RINGS tourney.

At the age of 40, Dan Henderson hopes to be the oldest man ever to capture a Strikeforce championship in his second shot at gold. Last April, Henderson lost a unanimous decision to Jake Shields in a middleweight title fight. After a move up to light-heavyweight and a December knockout, Henderson has the opportunity to face reigning champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante for his belt.
If Henderson loses, it will be four straight defeats in title matches, as he also lost in attempts at winning the UFC’s 185-pound and 205-pound belts before parting ways with the promotion.
In Cavalcante, he faces a powerful striker who also happens to be a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. Cavalcante won the belt last August, defeating Muhammad Lawal via third-round TKO.

Lyman Good is an “all-in” professional athlete. So consumed is he with reaching his maximum level of ability, the Bellator welterweight often surrenders his Upper East Side New York City apartment for months at a time, sleeping at his gym in lower Manhattan to fully commit himself to training.
Extreme? Perhaps a little, but that’s the type of effort he believes it takes to reach the levels he’s after.
“It allows me to focus, rid myself of any distractions or anything,” Good told MMA Fighting after a recent workout. “A lot of it has to do with sacrifices. I think in the end, a lot of it boils down to who’s the one willing to commit himself the most, sacrifice the most and dedicate themselves the most. So the fact that I sleep about three months before the fight in my actual training facility is a good addition to my arsenal. You’re either neck deep, or you’re not.”

Former UFC No. 1 middleweight contender Chael Sonnen has completed a six-month California state athletic commission suspension and paid a $2,500 fine for banned substance use, moving him one step closer to a possible return to the active UFC roster pending the resolution of an ongoing federal money laundering case.
CSAC executive officer George Dodd confirmed to MMA Fighting that Sonnen has fulfilled the terms of his penalty in the state effective Thursday. According to Dodd, Sonnen still has at least one step to take before his license is reinstated in the state, however.
