Fedor Emelianenko hasn’t thought too highly of UFC President Dana White for well over a decade now.

The year was 2007. Fedor Emelianenko was the PRIDE FC world heavyweight champion for over four years strong and was days away from his 24th consecutive victory, with the then 1-0 Choi Hong-man pegged as the next victim.

It was during this December that Dana White was quoted as saying the following:

“I don’t think Fedor is a top-five heavyweight in the world, and I’m not saying that because I didn’t get Fedor. I’ve always felt that way about Fedor and I always felt Randy Couture would beat Fedor … Fedor is a farce.”

In a 2007 interview with MMA Weekly, Fedor was asked to respond to these comments, and the Russian legend was sure to include a daring proposal to Dana White in his retort.

“Dana talks a lot and uses words lightly. Let Randy Couture fight me. Allow this fight that everyone wants to take place. Me, Randy and MMA fans all over the world want it. The only obstacle is Dana.”

Fedor’s interest in fighting then-UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture was purely professional. Many people, Dana White included, have lamented the fact that the MMA world never bore witness to Fedor vs. Lesnar. However, a Russian icon in Fedor Emelianenko going against an American icon in Randy Couture in a champion vs. champion clash would have been pure money, and Fedor was convinced everyone wanted to see it.

“People want to see this fight and I want to meet him in the ring. I have the greatest respect for Randy and have always admired him. I am also thankful that he has such a high opinion of me.”

As recently as two months ago, Fedor was still letting his thoughts on Dana White be known. The legend stated that White was selfish and lacks respect for fighters. That said, even though Fedor is incredibly still fighting, and winning, at age 45, don’t expect his swan song to include any high notes in the UFC.

Who do you think would have won between Fedor Emelianenko and Randy Couture?

Dana White Thinks Fedor Loses Sleep Over Not Joining The UFC

Fedor, Dana White

Dana White thinks Fedor Emelianenko has rejector’s remorse.

One of the greatest what if’s in MMA history is: What if Fedor Emelianenko signed with the UFC? How would he have faired? Would he have been a champion? A top contender? Or would he have been average at best?

At one point, one of the select few people who had the power to get these answers for the public, Dana White, tried to make a deal. Unfortunately for fans who would’ve loved to see the former PRIDE FC heavyweight champion test his skills against the UFC’s best, the two sides weren’t able to come to terms.

Fedor would ultimately sign with Bellator MMA in 2017 where he has had mixed success. Most recently, Fedor knocked out former UFC vet Timothy Johnson at Bellator 269.

Prior to that fight, Fedor rebuked Dana White, stating that the UFC boss lacks respect for fighters and that “money is everything to him.” When asked about Fedor’s latest performance during the UFC 267 post-fight press conference, here is what White had to say.

“I don’t think one way or another about it,” White began. “I saw last week or a couple weeks ago where Fedor said, ‘This guy’s all about money’ or whatever. First of all, I don’t even know Fedor. Fedor doesn’t know me. We met one time. His statement was ‘all about money.’ He should’ve been more about money when we made you that offer in wherever the fuck we were, whatever island that was we were on, and you wouldn’t still be fighting at 45 years old.”

White was then asked if he’d be willing to try again to give Fedor one last fight in the UFC.

“You know, I offered him a deal that he still must lay in bed every night and bum out about,” White said. “We offered him a deal. We tried to do a deal with Fedor. Apparently, Fedor doesn’t like me, so I don’t see it happening.”

White did not add any specifics on when precisely this offer was made, but it may very well be in connection to the Brock Lesnar fight that he’s stated in the past he tried to make. Ironically, it was White who, as recently as last year, said that he regrets not being able to get that deal done.

What about you? Would YOU still like to see Fedor fight in the UFC at least once? Or is it too late?

Fedor has voiced his opinion regarding Khabib’s recent comments directed at MMA ring girls.

The recently retired Khabib Nurmagomedov has come under fire following the controversial comments he made targeting “unnecessary” ring girls in the sport of mixed martial arts. Here is some of what Khabib had to say:

“Look, I don’t want to offend anyone, ring girls are the most useless people in martial arts. What is their purpose? I have a question. You can show that it is the second round on the screen. I realize that is a history. History knows many mistakes. We read history to avoid mistakes of the past in the future. If we look in the history, it says they are useless. That is my personal opinion…”

Former and current fighters, pundits, and even ring girls themselves have all replied to Khabib’s opinions on this subject, and now, “The Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko has given his thoughts on the subject.

While speaking with Fighting Flashback, Fedor was asked to share his views on Khabib’s statements and whether he agreed with his fellow Russian or not.

“The girls are showing the number of the rounds… [Round shaped] plates. The only [thing] is to dress them more decent.” Emelianenko said.

When pressed to comment further on the issue, Fedor insisted that his focus remains solely on his team and family, and whatever Khabib said is none of his concern.

“You know I don’t have [anything to do with it],” Fedor stated. “I have enough problems and affairs of my team and my family to not fill my head with stupid things.”

You can check out the video for Fedor’s thoughts on the matter below.

Fedor Emelianenko will face off with Timothy Johnson when the two heavyweights lock horns at Bellator 269 on October 23, in a fight that is believed to be the 44-year-old’s last.
