The Upcoming UFC Heavyweight Title fight scheduled for UFC 121 on October 23, 2010, beteween current Champ Brock lesnar and number one contender Cain Velasquez Fight Odds have been posted.

Brock Lesnar’s last five opponents:

  • Win against Shane Carwin via arm triangle at UFC 116
  • Win against Frank Mir via TKO at UFC 100
  • Win against Randy Couture via TKO at UFC 91
  • Win against Heath Herring via unanimous decision at UFC 87
  • Loss against Frank Mir via kneebar at UFC 81

Cain Velasquez’s last five opponenets:

  • Win against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via KO at UFC 110
  • Win against Ben Rothwell via TKO at UFC 104
  • Win against Cheick Kongo via unanimous decision at UFC 99
  • Win against Denis Stojnic via TKO at UFC Fight Night 17
  • Win against Jake O’Brien via TKO at UFC Fight Night 14

Here we have a show down between two great wrestlers.  Cain is 8-0 in his MMA career and 6-0 in the UFC via five T/KO’s and one unanimous decision over Cheick Kongo.  The Kongo fight showed us he can take a punch and recovered using his wrestling ability to get back into the fight.  Velasquez has improved in each fight he has taken.  He is a two-time All-American wrestler from Arizona State, BJJ purple belt under Dave Camarillo and has improved his striking tremendously.  Cain does not have the power of a Shane Carwin, but can hold his own.

Brock Lesnar is 5-1 in his MMA career and 4-1 in the UFC via two T/KO’s, two submissions, and one unanimous decision victory.  Lesnar has also shown the world he can take a punch or 60 according to the fight metrics report during round one of their UFC 116 battle. Lesnar weathered the storm of Carwin and in round two took a tired fighter down and submitted him.  He dominates his opponents with brute strength and his famous double leg take down.

I thought Lesnar would have started out a little higher.  At UFC 116  The odds started at -220 Lesnar / +180 Carwin, then ended up at -140 Lensar / +110 Carwin come fight night.
