Headlining next month’s monumental UFC 300 card, former undisputed light heavyweight champion, Jamahal Hill has vowed to land a stoppage win over incumbent division titleholder, Alex Pereira – claiming the judges sat cageside can just go home before the headliner starts. 

Hill, a former light heavyweight champion and the first product of Dana White’s Contender Series to land Octagon spoils, has been sidelined since he landed gold back in January of last year, turning in a unanimous decision win over Pereira’s training partner and close friend, Glover Teixeira. 

Vacating the light heavyweight crown after he suffered a ruptured achilles back in the summer, Hill watched Octagon-side as the above-mentioned, Pereira turned in a second round TKO win over another former champion, Jiri Prochazka to land the vacant championship back in November at Madison Square Garden.

And casting doubt on Sao Paulo knockout artist, Pereira’s ability to turn in a dominant victory against opposition, Hill promises the judges won’t be involved in the outcome of his fight with the former duel-weight champion next month at UFC 300.

Himself eyeing a hasty victory in his return next month, GLORY Kickboxing Hall of Fame star, Pereira has plans to headline UFC 301 just 21 days later in his native Brazil in a stunning return to Rio de Janeiro, with reports claiming the fan favorite inked a deal with the organizaiton which would see him make a quickfire return if he dispatches Hill early. 

And in terms of opponents at the Jeunesse Arena card, speculation is rife that surging contender, Magomed Ankalaev – who is fresh from a knockout win over Johnny Walker earlier this year, would be prepared to take on Pereira once he concludes the religious period of Ramadan.

As part of negotiations to fight atop a monumental UFC 300 card next month in Las Vegas, undisputed light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira apparently came to an agreement with the organization that should he swiftly defeat Jamahal Hill at the event – he could make a stunning 21-day turnaround against fight atop a UFC 301 pay-per-view card in his native Brazil.

Pereira, a former undisputed middleweight champion and the current undisputed light heavyweight titleholder, is scheduled to make his first attempted defense of that latter belt next month at UFC 300, welcoming ex-champion, Hill back to the Octagon in a high-profile main event slot on the card.

Winning gold back in November against another former gold holder, Jiri Prochazka, Sao Paulo knockout ace, Pereira felled the Czech Republic native with a second round win – with the GLORY Kickboxing Hall of Fame star minting himself as a two-division champion.

Confirming plans to make a hasty return once he deals with Hill at UFC 300, Alex Pereira – according to former lightweight contender, Josh Thomson, has worked out a deal with the Dana White-led organization which would see him fight just 21-days later at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro.

“I also heard that if [Alex Pereira] gets out of the Jahamal [Hill fight] at 300, he wants to be on that card [UFC 301],” Thomson said during an episode of WEIGHING IN. “Apparently that was part of his contract negotiation. If he gets the win, and he comes out healthy, that he’s allowed to fight on that card. Yeah, that was part of I guess apparently his agreement to fighting on 300.” 

Confirming plans to make a quickfire comeback less than a month later – potentially against a grappling threat, with fans pointing to a potential clash with Magomed Ankalaev – Alex Pereira confirmed he would be available to fight on the card in a Brazilian homecoming.

“If everything works out, right?” Alex Pereira said on his YouTube channel. “First, I have to win this fight [with Jamahal Hill]. I work with the reality, I can lose, I can win, either can happen. But I’m doing everything I can to leave with a victory. If everything works out, I can do it. Currently, UFC 301 at the Jeunesse Arena features an undisputed flyweight title fight between Alexandre Pantoja, and the number ten ranked, Steve Erceg – while Hall of Fame star and former undisputed featherweight champion, Jose Aldo makes his stunning return after almost two years away from the sport. 

Less than a month out from a monumental UFC 300 card, event headliner, Alex Pereira still remains a distinct betting favorite to beat incoming foe, Jamahal Hill – and successfully retain his light heavyweight crown as part of one of the biggest event’s of Octagon history.

For Hill, the Illinois native has yet to make his comeback since he defeated Alex Pereira’s compatriot, close friend and teammate, Glover Teixeira last January on enemy territory in Brazil.

And despite headlining the promotion’s monumentla UFC 300 card next month, Hill couldn’t help but reveal the showdown against Pereira came in rather surprising and hasty fashion.

“I found out for sure, for sure that it was locked in since I’ve been in here,” Jamahal Hill said during an interview at UFC 298. “When I got to the venue, we talked about it, and I agreed to it yesterday [Friday].”

“Look, ‘Sweet Dreams’ is not gonna lie to the people, I ain’t lie to you guys,” Jamahal Hill explained. “I told you what I knew – partially. …Everybody wants to be on [UFC] 300, but realistically, it didn’t really come on my radar, it didn’t really happen until yesterday, I’m not evern going to lie, yesterday.”
