After a hard-fought victory at UFC Vegas 67, the undefeated Javid Basharat has declared the man he wants to face next inside the UFC octagon.

The undefeated ‘Snow Leopard’ has left a trail of bodies in his wake after beginning his pro career in 2016. He joined the UFC riding an eleven-fight win streak, but what was most impressive was each victory was via finish. Since joining the world’s most prestigious martial arts organization, the UFC, Basharat has so far been unable to finish an opponent. Regardless, he’s continued his winning ways and now stands at an illustrious 14-0, with three consecutive UFC victories.

A terror on his way up the totem pole, Javid Basharat may be the next star birthed by the UFC. Only time will tell, but so far, he’s kicked his 2023 off to a spectacular start.

Javid Basharat calls out Chris Gutierrez in a hilarious way

Very modest about his victory at UFC Vegas 67, Basharat gave much credit to his opponent during his post-fight interview. Praising him for his toughness and claiming he will have a bright UFC career ahead of him.

“I knew I had to stay patient,” Basharat said. “…I banked on him gassing out. To be fair, he got tired. But, he didn’t get that tired.”

Paul Felder was interviewing Basharat and prodded him about his next move inside the UFC. Asking who he’d like to fight next and where he plans on going from here. “The fans told me I might be getting ahead of myself.” Javid Basharat began. “Look, my debut was hard. My last fight with Tony Gravely: a hard fight… I’m taking these risky fights. These are all risky fights. Heavy hitters, wrestlers. If I’m not already in the top 15, I need a ranked guy next. But I feel like I should be in the top 15…

“Some of these names, I don’t wanna call out anybody in particular, but they haven’t fought anybody,” Basharat continued. “They’re fighting these old-school legends. But nobody of my caliber. I’m taking out all of the contenders.”

Paul Felder looked at this point as if he was going to leave it at that and end the interview. However, ‘The Snow Leopard’ visibly looked like he wanted to say more. In a stroke of brilliance, Felder doubled back, saying: “Hey, this is up to you. Do you have any names?”

“Fu*k it, let’s go. Chris Gutierrez, let’s do this,” Javid Basharat declared. The call-out made sense now, as Chris Gutierrez last fought against the “old-school legend” Frankie Edgar, who he defeated by knockout. The two men would surely make for an insane matchup, and only time will tell if Basharat will get his wish of a Chris Gutierrez fight.

Who would you like to see Javid Basharat fight next, and do you think he will end 2023 undefeated?

Javid Basharat’s new year’s plan is to be an active UFC bantamweight. The 27-year-old wants to compete three times inside the octagon in 2023.

Basharat spoke with Lowkick MMA’s Alex Behunin about his 2023 goals, UFC Vegas 67 opponent Mateus Mendonça and his brother Farid Basharat signing with the UFC.

The Xtreme Couture prospect made his UFC debut in 2022 and secured two wins over Trevin Jones and Tony Gravely. Now, Basharat is looking to make a bigger splash in the bantamweight division in the new year.

I still want to remain undefeated but more than that I want to make sure that I break into the top-10 at least, top-15 for sure. I’d be fuming if I’m not in the top-15, especially if I’ve been winning,” Basharat said. “And at least get three fights in this year. I’d say that’s my No.1 goal.”

Javid Basharat Will Start His Year Against Another Undefeated Fighter

His first challenge in 2023 will be against fellow undefeated fighter Mateus Mendonça on Jan. 14 at UFC Vegas 67. Mendonça will be making his UFC debut on the card. Basharat

“I’m not going to overlook this guy. He comes from a great fight camp. Chute box from Charles Oliviera’s team. He’s undefeated. There’s no blueprint to winning,” Basharat said. “Make no mistake about. His name isn’t that big but he’s undefeated. He got a big win off the Contender Series and why not. I want to be that guy. Let’s test him.”

Basharat’s brother Farid secured a UFC contract with a win in September on Dana White’s Contender Series. Basharat reacted to his brother’s recent UFC signing by assuring that the promotion is where the two brothers “belong”.

It’s great. It’s where we belong. We are one of the best fighters on the planet and the UFC is the best promotion on the planet so it’s where we belong.”

UFC bantamweight Tony Gravely is preparing for his fight against Javid Basharat at UFC Fight Night on Sept. 17. The taekwondo black belt is on a two-fight winning streak, coming off a first-round knockout win over Johnny Munoz Jr. in June.

Gravely (23-7) is a veteran in the fight game– with 30 professional fights. The Dana White Contender Series (DWCS) alumn is looking to climb the ranks of the bantamweight division.

Before stepping into the octagon for his sixth UFC fight, Gravely spoke with LowKick MMA about his official fight prediction, DWCS experience and time at American Top Team.

Gravely’s goal is to be ranked in the bantamweight division by next year. In the meantime, he is focused on his upcoming fight against Javid Basharat. Basharat (12-0) is also a DWCS alumni, who is undefeated in his MMA career. He’s coming off a successful UFC debut in March, where he earned a unanimous decision win.

When asked about his prediction, Gravely said he will finish the fight in the later rounds.

“I want to say it’s gonna be a second or third round. I’m not sure if I think it’s going to be a submission or a TKO but it’ll be one or the other. It’ll be a second or third-round finish.”

Gravely got an opportunity to impress UFC president Dana White on DCWS in 2019. He took advantage of the moment and scored a KO win to earn a spot in the UFC. Since then, Gravely has gone 4-2 in his UFC career with two finishes. He explained how he’s changed as a fighter from DWCS to now.

“The biggest difference is confidence in my skill set. Back then, I knew what areas I was really good at and certain areas I thought I was good at but I was hesitant and I never really opened up and expressed everything,” Gravely said. “I’ve been a professional since like 2015, so not too long of a career as far as years go. So just progressing and being confident with my abilities, not just my cardio but everything as well.”

Tony Gravely’s MMA Home

After spending years at Tech MMA and Fitness Academy, Gravely joined American Top Team (ATT), one of the premier gyms in mixed martial arts. Since making the move in 2020, Gravely has gained valuable knowledge from experienced training partners and coaches.

“It’s an unreal experience…getting to train with these guys and getting to pick their brains. If there’s something they do really well, you ask about it and they’ll do their best to help you with it and make you really good with it as well so it’s been phenomenal. It’s been a dream come true. I tell everybody [that] American Top Team is like a fighter’s heaven… from the top to the bottom, everything is 10 out of 10.”

Oron Kahlon Calls Afghan Opponent A ‘Terrorist’ At DWCS 45 Weigh-In

Things got heated between Israel’s Oron Kahlon and Afghanistan’s Javid Basharat during the weigh-ins for their Contender Series bout.

Kahlon and Basharat were originally scheduled to have a fight in the bantamweight division at Dana White‘s Contender Series 45 on Tuesday. However, Kahlon came in at 139-pounds Monday afternoon, missing the divisional limit by 3 pounds.

When the two were paired up for the ceremonial face-off, Basharat refused to shake Kahlon’s hand, seemingly annoyed at the weight miss. This led to some verbal sparring between the two, and Kahlon could be heard calling Basharat a ‘terrorist’ as they turned away from each other.

In a post on his Instagram account, Basharat shared a clip of the incident and confirmed what was said.

“This pussy wanted a way out of by missing weight by 3 pounds,” Basharat wrote in the caption of the video. “I told him I was still going to whoop his arse, he then called me a terrorist. Wanted a reaction again wanted a way out. Unlucky for him I ain’t going nowhere! I’m waiting to see him tomorrow.”

To say political tensions between Israel and Afghanistan are high is putting it mildly. Since Afghanistan was taken over by the Taliban in August, they have cut off all ties with Israel. The last member of Afghanistan’s Jewish community left the country earlier this month.

Kahlon and Basharat will will now meet at a catchweight, with Basharat receiving 20% of the Israeli fighter’s purse. Hopefully, the two men will be able to keep things much more civil when they meet in the cage on Tuesday.

Do you think Oron Kahlon went too far? Let us know!
