Conor McGregor is back in trouble after allegedly punching a man in an Irish bar. Since then, many fighters, media, and fans alike have been giving their thoughts on the incident. Now, UFC commentator, Joe Rogan shared his thoughts on it where all he could do is laugh at it.

“I love Irish people man, I’m f*****g fascinated by the wildness of that culture,” Rogan said on his JRE podcast. When you see a guy like Conor McGregor, part of what is him is Irish. He’s like a pure, brilliant Irish. A boastful, bad motherf****r. (He) knows how to take a loss like a man, (but) still talks s**t.”

“He’s got like $100 million in the bank and he still wants to fight people. Still smacking people at bars.” Rogan laughed while speaking. “What’s he doing? Don’t do that. Who knows what the guy said to him.”

A common question fans have is, did the man say anything to Conor McGregor and if he did what did he say. Joe Rogan has the same questions. But, also knows this is the Irishman and what he does.

“He’s Conor Mcgregor. He’s living like you’re supposed to live if your Conor McGregor,” Rogan explained. “The dance is, don’t go to jail dude. Don’t get locked up.”

As of right now, Conor McGregor has not been punished by either the UFC or the law for the incident. For Joe Rogan, he knows it is a bad situation but can’t help but laugh at it.

What did you make of Conor McGregor’s incident between the old man at the bar?

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk smokes a blunt on Joe Rogan’s podcast – Tesla stock takes a hit as a result.

Longtime UFC color commentator Joe Rogan enjoys a wildly successful podcast in his downtime from his duties calling fights. He has created one of the top-rated podcasts on virtually any platform you can think of. However, one guest eluded him through his over eight-year run, Elon Musk.

Rogan was able to scratch that one off his bucket list of potential guests, as Musk made his first appearance on the JRE on Thursday (Sept. 6, 2018). He and Musk talked about the future of AI and Rogan even got Musk to smoke a blunt with him for what is believed to be a first for the Tesla founder.

Musk spend over two and a half hours talking with Rogan about everything from social media to flamethrowers. All the while enjoying a ********* cigarette. It didn’t take Twitter long to explode. Some UFC fighters even weighed in.

Angela Hill questioned whether or not Musk even inhaled. Perhaps taking one out of Bill Clinton’s playbook.

Then UFC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg’ Santos chimed in with a message for the Tesla head.

After taking a shot at MMA during her awards speech, Meryl Streep has caught a ton of flack…

Mixed martial arts is still not fully accepted. After years of battling to get the sport legalized in New York, the final state that refused to regulate MMA finally caved last year. Even so, drastic and outlandish statements about child labour and porn were used by opposing senators to condemn the sport. It seems narrow-minded politicians aren’t the only ones with a bee in their bonnet about MMA, Meryl Streep is also on that bandwagon.

During her Golden Globes award acceptance speech this past weekend, the Hollywood actress took a dig at MMA. Claiming it ‘wasn’t an art,’ Streep’s comments led to a stream of furious reactions from the combat sports world. UFC president Dana White blasted Streep as an ‘uppity 80-year old,’ whereas Scott Coker invited her to watch a Bellator show. Now it’s Joe Rogan’s turn.

Joe Rogan’s Response

Responding to Streep’s comments, Joe Rogan told Bas Rutten and Mauro Ranello about the artistic aspect of MMA:

“It was pompous. I was reading some of the responses to Meryl Streep, I was like ‘Jesus Christ!’ She went after mixed martial arts, because she used the word ‘arts’ and then she riffed it. What are arts? It’s not the art of pretending, it’s the art of executing under very difficult circumstances. Very difficult, you got somebody trying to smash bones in your face. It’s very difficult to do, and when its done properly its artistic.”

“You can’t tell me that when Anderson Silva landed that front kick on Vitor Belfort’s face and his legs give in, that’s not art. That’s art. (Ryo Chonan landing the flying scissor heel hook on Anderson Silva) that’s art, that was like a movie scene. A brutal piece of art was Quinton Rampage Jackson’s slam on Ricardo Arona. Oh my God, why did Arona hold on to that triangle? The impact was so brutal, Arona was essentially never the same again.”

UFC 202 went down in Las Vegas last Saturday August 20. The main event was the long awaited rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor, and did not disappoint. Following Diaz’s submission win over McGregor at UFC 196, the Irishman was out for revenge. MMA fans were treated to a five-round war at UFC 202, and vengeance was sweet for McGregor. Although its been debated in the time since, ‘The Notorious’ took home the majority decision win.

For Diaz its probable he’ll take some time off. After appeals for an immediate rematch were shot down, it was clear the promotion had other plans for McGregor. The Irish star is yet to defend the featherweight title, but that may not change anytime soon. UFC president Dana White revealed plans for a lightweight title clash featuring McGregor soon after UFC 202. Jose Aldo is probably not a big fan of this potential super fight.

The McGregor Show

After a brief detour, the Conor McGregor show is back on the road again. With the score evened against Nate Diaz, its back down the weight classes with a possible stop in the lightweight championship bout with Alvarez. UFC color commentator Joe Rogan made an interesting comment on social media the other day, claiming he’d love to see McGregor face Nick Diaz next.

Furthering that post during his recent podcast, Rogan said he literally wants to see that fight more than anything else in the world right now.
“This is what I want to see; I want to see Nick Diaz vs. Conor McGregor. I want to see that more than I want to see anything in life. More than I want to see the Aroura Borealis, more than I want to revisit the Milky Way–I want to see NICK DIAZ vs. CONOR McGREGOR.”

Thankfully it wasn’t only Rogan’s fantasies we heard about during this episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. The UFC commentator also gave a breakdown and recap of the UFC 202 main event. For casual fans that may be wondering why McGregor didn’t follow Diaz to the ground when he scored knockdowns, here’s Rogan’s analysis.

Not Going Down

“He was awesome. He’s a bad motherf*cker dude. Nobody gets a first round knockout against Nate Diaz, it’s going to be a war. He knew it, he had to be conservative. It was insane, like nothing ever. He doesn’t need to go down to the ground with (Nate). If you do that with a guy like Nate Diaz, he might not be hurt at all. Conor f*cked up Nate’s right leg with kicks.”

“He’s just getting chewed up with this left leg kick. It makes it super difficult to move. Conor just fought a smooth and smart game plan. He didn’t unload himself, in the first fight he did that and his gas tank emptied. He ran away, you can say that, but it’s OK.”

Running?

Nate Diaz and many of his fans reacted angrily to Conor McGregor ‘running away’ from exchanges during their fight. You could view this tactic two ways–As Diaz says ‘he was scared,’ or McGregor was simply avoiding Diaz’s biggest strength. Why trade with a guy against the fence when this is his best option in the striking exchanges?

UFC Fight Night 88 went down in Las Vegas, Nevada last night (Sunday May 29, 2016) with a highly underrated line up of promising prospects. The headline bout featured two fighters that represent the future of the 135-pound division, as Thomas Almeida looked to keep his 21-fight unbeaten streak going against 8-0 Cody Garbrandt. Turns out it was ‘No Love’ who would keep his unblemished record, and he did it in very brutal fashion.

The fight itself didn’t even make it out of the first round, as Garbrandt just proved to be way too much for Almeida. As many of us had thought, it was more about the footwork and defense, or lack thereof in the case of ‘Terminator’ that would prove crucial in this scrap.

The destructive force of Almeida’s striking was met with superior defensive skills, and much better footwork and timing from the Team Alpha Male prospect Garbrandt. In case you didn’t catch it last night, here’s the savage finish from the UFC on FOX Facebook page:

So it was a swift and dominant performance from Garbrandt, who improves to 9-0, but what was missing from the event? Yep, you guessed it, commentary from Joe Rogan.

Fortunately Rogan was watching live with Brendan Schaub and Bryan Callen and their reaction’s were caught on a live stream broadcast.

Can of worms, meet Joe Rogan…

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan is one of the most knowledgeable and well versed characters in all combat sports. His time calling fights for the promotion has seen Rogan go from a fresh faced stand up comic who worked for the UFC, to a more recognizable face than many fighters. During his podcasts aptly titled ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ we get to not only here some very interesting opinions on UFC and mixed martial arts, but also current events.

One thing that makes Rogan’s take on the fight game so unique is that he has so much more access than anyone else in the media. He’s been there for some truly crazy moments in MMA history, and often tells some seriously entertaining tales about his experiences. Many subjects were on the table for Rogan’s mst recent podcast, including Stipe Miocic’s KO win over Fabricio Werdum, the time Randy Couture beat up Brendan Schaub, and then the slightly more controversial issues of TRT, Fallon Fox, the transgender MMA fighter, and more. We’ve got the transcripts for you, followed by the full podcast episode, enjoy!

After the madness of UFC 198 this past weekend, Joe Rogan firstly discusses why he thinks Fabricio Werdum got knocked out by Stipe Miocic:

“He didn’t fight smart, he got tagged. If you watch the stoppage he got tagged right before he rushed in. He got tagged,he moved forward making his advances, he got tagged with the right hand, then he ran in and he was already on queer street and he got knocked the f*ck out. The way Stipe did it was a work of art, it was like Anderson Silva against Forrest Griffin. It was better, he got cracked, that’s how Aldo got knocked out against McGregor, it makes the punch harder when the guy charges in. Stipe has big power, but he fights technically and economically. He does things very correctly.”

It certainly was a masterful performance by Miocic, but the subject then turned to transgender fighter Fallon Fox, a topic that was hotly debated when it first arose years back. Rogan makes some very interesting statements, bringing known PED user Gabi Garcia in to the discussion.
