Combate Americas Kicks Off MMA In The Empire State With “Empire Rising” This Friday

This Friday, history will be made as Combate Americas will bring the first-ever night of professional mixed-martial-arts action to the Empire State with their “Empire Rising” event.

Airing on NBC UNIVERSO, Combate Americas “Empire Rising” event will feature the promotion’s first-ever world title fight, as John “Sexy Mexy” Castaneda (11-2) takes on Gustavo Lopez (6-1) in the main event with the World Bantamweight Championship on the line.

Also on the card is the return of former UFC fighter and veteran of The Ultimate Fighter reality show Matt Hamill (11-7), as the Superstar deaf athlete takes on Julian Marquez (3-1) in light heavyweight action.

– John “Sexy Mexy” Castaneda vs. Gustavo Lopez
– Matt Hamill vs. Julian Marquez
– Jonathan Martinez vs. Freddie Arteaga
– Irwin Rivera vs. Jose Ceja
– Paulina Grandos vs. Jenna Serio
– Victor Reyna vs. Marc Stevens
– James Rodriguez vs. Alex Henry

Tickets for “Combate Americas: Empire Rising” are on sale and can be purchased at the Turning Stone Box Office, by calling 877.833.SHOW, or online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are priced at $75, for cageside, $65, $50 and $35, and may be subject to additional fees. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, and the first preliminary bout will begin at 6 p.m.

Combate Americas “Empire Rising” goes down this Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, and will air live on UFC FIGHT PASS®.
