Floyd Mayweather John Gotti III fight ends in massive brawl between both camps

Former undisputed boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather saw last night’s exhibition boxing match return against mixed martial artist, John Gotti III – the grandson of the late ex-crime boxx, John Gotti – erupt into chaos in the ring, as both camps stormed the squared circle, with a full-scale brawl breaking out.

Mayweather, a former undisputed world champion across a host of weight classes in professional boxing, toyed with mixed martial arts fighter, Gotti across the four-round limit of their fight, landing at will and mocking the former on occasion.

Ultimately, the bout was then called off by veteran referee, Kenny Bayliss, who accused Gotti of holding, leading to an angry response from the latter.

Floyd Mayweather continued to antagonize John Gotti III throughout the bout

Attempting to get by Bayliss in pursuit of Floyd Mayweather, who was still mocking him, Gotti forced the former world champion to the ropes as the bout was already over, with the duo trading punches as the ring began to fill up.

With members of both Mayweather’s camp and entourage now entering the ring, Gotti was held in his opposition corner as both camps began to trade punches and a full-blown brawl ensued.

Furthermore, footage has emerged showing a slew of arguments and brawls between the camps and security outside the ring and in the actual lobby of the reception itself with the scheduled exhibition fight descending into chaos.

Mayweather was making his return to the squared circle for the first time since he featured in a non-scored bout with former reality television feature, Aaron Chalmers at The O2 Arena in London, England earlier this year.

In his most recent professional boxing match, Floyd Mayweather improved to 50-0 as a professional, lodging an infamous tenth round standing TKO win over former undisputed UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor

Floyd Mayweather books boxing exhibiiton with crime lord son John Gotti III

It seems as if Floyd Mayweather‘s next boxing exhibition match will be an interesting one as the boxing legend has just announced that he will be facing the grandson of the notorious crime boss John Gotti in the ring.

John Gotti III is actually an MMA fighter and holds a record of 5-1 in the octagon. His last two fights have been boxing exhibition matches, and he’s gone 2-0.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is obviously a legendary boxer. 50-0 in the squared circle, ‘Money’ has faced the greatest boxers of this generation and came out the victor. While many criticize his heavily defensive style coupled with his seemingly-arrogant persona, Mayweather is actually a very beloved figure in the boxing scene.

While many would have loved to see the legend fully retire, ‘Money’ still does what he does best: box for absurd amounts of money. His last five boxing bouts have been exhibition matches against the likes of Logan Paul, Deji, and more.

While no exact date has been announced for the fight, it is rumored the event will take place in Florida. The fight is supposed to be in dedication to the memory of Marikit “Kitchie” Laurico, his longtime friend and assistant, who sadly passed away in April of 2023.

On Instagram, Mayweather shared his plans for 2023 and announced he would be participating in five exhibitions this year. The exhibitions will take place all over the world, including the USA, Australia, Japan and more.

“This is what my 2023 looks like so far…” Floyd Mayweather began. “5 exhibitions in 5 countries in 9 months, and if any of these exhibitions don’t happen, I still get paid. I’m the most active hustler in boxing. My money is guaranteed.”

The grandson of reputed mob boss John Gotti continued making a name for himself in the fight game, scoring a quick 32-second TKO in his second professional MMA fight on Friday night.

John Gotti III has eschewed the family business for cage fighting, and his performance at Classic Entertainment and Sports event in Westbury, NY suggests Gotti may have a future in punching people’s lights out for a living rather than ending people’s lives with bullets.

Gotti took on Eddie Haws in a welterweight contest and after a short feeling out period, found his mark in the form of a counter punch as Haws was charging in.

The 24-year-old Gotti (2-0) compiled a 5-1 record as an amateur and says his father, John Gotti Jr., was actually the one who got him into mixed martial arts, specifically citing the third fight in the Randy Couture vs. Chuck Liddell trilogy as a turning point in his burgeoning interest into the sport.

Gotti III told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani about how he got into MMA during this week’s edition of The MMA Hour:

“Just to bond with him, I wanted to watch the fights. So I tuned into the fights that night and ever since that night I became hooked.

“I’m happy that he supports me 100 percent. He’s behind me. He’s one of my biggest supporters. Without him, this would be a much harder journey.”

Gotti’s grandfather died in prison in 2002 after his conviction for murder, racketeering, conspiracy and a slew of other charges back in 1992. Gotti was the mob boss of the reputed Gambino family in New York.

But Gotti III is quickly making a name for himself on the East Coast MMA scene, and with a few more wins like this could truly find himself working towards a prominent spot in the sport.
