Mr. ‘Let me bang, bro’ has gotten banged. Ultimate Fighter alumni Julian Lane got knocked out in a professional boxing match against kickboxer Vlad Tuinov.

‘Grabaka_Hitman’ shared the end of this match on Twitter:

“Kickboxer turned bareknuckle boxer Vlad Tuinov destroys Julian Lane in the 2nd round. Left hook stopped him dead in his tracks.”

‘The Diamond’ Vlad Tuinov, of Russia, is an experienced kickboxer with a record of 45-5. In bare-knuckle boxing, the 24-year-old has gone 3-0-1 with all three wins coming by way of KO. On October 7, he met former UFC fighter, Julian Lane, in a boxing match fighting in Pravda Fight Championship. The Russian earned the knockout early in round two.

Tuinov is proud of the victory and even said before the match that this is the biggest challenge of his career. On Instagram, ahead of the fight, he said:

“I looked into the eyes of @julianlanemma What did I see there? Find out today, October 7th. This fight will be one of the biggest challenges of my career.”

‘Night Train’ Julian Lane’s career

The Ultimate Fighter Season 16 in 2012 hosted competitor Julian Lane. On the show he coined his most iconic moment when he got into a drunken brawl, began crying, and yelled “let me f****** bang, bro!” Regarding this incident, a decade later he would tell MMA Junkie in 2022 that he was quite embarrassed by the whole incident. He said:

“It was a bad dream, it was a nightmare for many years of my life and then it finally actually turned into my life. It was something that I couldn’t control. Once it happened, it happened. You can’t go back and erase the past. You just have to live in the present and make the best of it and that’s what I’m doing, baby.”

Lane has an official MMA record of 12-10-1 and has begun competing in bare-knuckle boxing. In BKFC, he has earned a record of 4-7-0. There he competed against fighters such as Leonard Garcia, Thiago Alves, plus had a bloody brawl against ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry at KnuckleMania 2.

Julian Lane

Julian Lane was still trash talking while being dominated on the ground by Austin Hubbard at XMMA 5.

This was Lane’s first MMA match since 2018, where he lost by rear naked choke. The former Ultimate Fighter contestant has been making his money fighting in the BKFC.

He has a record of 3-6 at BKFC and had a fantastic feud with former UFC prospect Mike Perry. In the lead to the fight, Lane was constantly talking about Perry and the things he would do to him inside the ring. He even threw a full water bottle at Perry while he was doing an interview to sell the fight. He lost in that grudge match and the two didn’t even bury the hatchet after the match.

Julian Lane is known as being a trash talker, and this was just another example

In the video you can hear Lane talking smack while being controlled.

“Stand up. Let’s go man, f**k you doing? Holding me down like a b***h. I don’t give a f**k. You want to bang? F**k is that? What you gonna’ do? You ain’t doin’ nothing b***h. You’re a hoe, that’s why they [UFC] cut you bro. You can’t get into the UFC like this.” Lane said while eating numerous elbows.

It’s ironic that Lane would speak on getting to the UFC and cut, when he never even made it into the promotion. Hubbard fought in the UFC 7 times in his career, most recently in August of 2021, when he lost to Vinc Pichel. Hubbard ended his UFC career with a 3-4 record, and although he had a losing record in the octagon, he at least made it to the biggest promotion in the world and even got a few wins.

Julian Lane, Mike Perry

Former UFC fighter Mike Perry and former The Ultimate Fighter participant Julian Lane faced off for one final time before their matchup at BKFC KnuckleMania 2.

Perry and Lane’s previous faceoff yesterday at the pre-fight press conference included Perry pulling out a toy bat. The two welterweights are looking to get back in the win column following recent losses.

Perry and Lane also brawled at a recent BKFC Fight Night event in Tampa, FL. This fueled the fire behind the promotion booking the matchup for just a few months later.

Watch Perry and Lane’s heated faceoff below.

Perry lost two of his last three fights in the UFC, including most recently against Daniel Rodriguez last April. He was released by the promotion and fought in a custom rules match against Michael Seals at Triller Triad Combat, earning a split decision victory.

Lane has traded wins and losses in BKFC since first joining the promotion back in 2019. He lost his most recent fight via a unanimous decision against David Rickels last October.

Also on the BKFC card will be the return of former UFC featherweight title challenger Chad Mendes, who will be making his bare-knuckle boxing debut against Joshuah Alvarez.

BKFC has signed several former UFC fighters over the past year. Perry, along with former female fighters Paige VanZant and Rachael Ostovich, has begun the new chapters of their fighting careers with BKFC.

Perry seems intent on making this new boxing venture into a long-term deal, and a win over Lane would be the first step to do just that. At 30 years old, he remains in the physical prime of his career and could be a potential star for the promotion.
