Justin Gaethje called out Al Iaquinta after his latest win inside of the Octagon under the UFC banner. There is some history between these two fighters.

Iaquinta and Gaethje were supposed to fight each other at the UFC Lincoln event on August 25, 2018 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. That fight never happened as it was scrapped once Iaquinta declined to take it despite the Las Vegas-based promotion announcing it.

The UFC ended up getting James Vick to fight the former WSOF Champion at the show. Gaethje was able to pick up the first-round KO win over Vick in the main event. At the time, he claimed it was due to him being unhappy with his UFC contract.

Iaquinta beat Kevin Lee by unanimous decision in the UFC on FOX 31 headliner. This event went down on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on big FOX.

The Callout

After this fight had concluded, Gatheje took to his official Twitter account where he called out Iaquinta. With Al being on better terms with the UFC, the ex-WSOF champ is looking to make this fight happen now.

He wrote, “Yeah I want that little raging bitch.”

James Vick Felt ‘Humiliated’ After Justin Gaethje Knockout

UFC lightweight competitor James Vick felt ‘humiliated’ after getting knocked out in devastating fashion by Justin Gaethje earlier this year.

Justin Gaethje pulled off a hellacious knockout over James Vick earlier this year.

The former World Series Of Fighting (WSOF) lightweight champion started off his career undefeated upon coming to the UFC. He won his promotional debut fight against Michael Johnson with a second-round knockout. After that, Gaethje suffered the first losses of his career, with back-to-back defeats to Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier.

He was able to snap that losing streak against Vick this past summer, but at the expense of the Texan’s four-fight win streak. The pair headlined UFC Lincoln in August from Nebraska. Just over a minute into the first round, however, Gaethje landed a hellacious shot that rendered Vick unconscious.

This came after relentless trash talk from Vick in the weeks leading up to the fight. Vick was hoping for a big win over Gaethje in order to make a case for a title opportunity. Speaking to “MMA Junkie Radio” recently, Vick explained how “humiliating” the defeat to Gaethje was (via MMA News):

“It still sucks and is depressing to lose like that,” Vick said. “It’s humiliating. But I’ve just got to get on another winning streak. I’m not delusional. Some of this stuff ain’t fair, but life ain’t fair.

“I may have to go back and win three or four fights, whereas someone like Gaethje only has to win one fight after losing a couple. That’s just the way (expletive) is. I blew my opportunity, and I’ve got to live with that.

“I got caught early, and I can’t blame anybody but myself, I got a big opportunity, and I frickin’ blew it, and it sucks. But I’m not any less confident in myself and my skillset.

“I just feel like it’s going to be a long road back to getting a big fight like that, because these guys already don’t want to fight me anyway.”
