Khamzat Chimaev wants to face Conor McGregor in the main event when the UFC returns to London on March 19.

‘Borz’ is looking for a big-name opponent after picking up four UFC wins and cracking the welterweight top 10. The UFC has offered McGregor’s long-time rival, Nate Diaz, the chance to face Chimaev, but the MMA icon turned down the fight on the grounds that the undefeated Swede is a “rookie” who is not worthy of a fight against him.

Diaz later took to social media to suggest Chimaev should fight McGregor instead.

“Let him fight kamrat that be a great fight to make He needs a easy new guy to fight anyway he can taper back in and see if he can even still fight at all Great idea Nate Thanks,” Diaz wrote on Twitter.

“No problem, bitch,” McGregor replied before deleting the tweet.

Chimaev is clearly excited by the prospect of facing off against McGregor inside the Octagon and has now taken to social media to suggest a date for their potential match-up.

“March in London let’s do it bro King vs King @TheNotoriousMMA he ran away like his brother @NateDiaz209 209,” Chimaev wrote on Twitter this Monday.

Khamzat Chimaev vs. Conor McGregor Seems An Unlikley Match-Up

A fight between Chimaev and McGregor is far-fetched for quite a few reasons.

Firstly, ‘Notorious’ is currently healing up and will not be ready to compete until the summer months of 2022.

The Irishman also competes at lightweight and would be seriously undersized against Chimaev who switches between welterweight and middleweight.

Lastly, ‘Borz’ is not quite on McGregor’s level yet in terms of name value, however, that doesn’t mean that he won’t be someday soon. Chimaev has been the breakout star of the last two years and appears to be on the cusp of becoming a genuine superstar.

Khamzat Chimaev has revealed that he was invited to make an appearance on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin podcast and explained why he decided to turn it down.

‘The Wolf’ says that he respects what Tyson has achieved as a fighter but has been less than impressed by the heavyweight boxing legends’ behaviour outside of the ring.

“Ali said Mike Tyson also wants something, but I didn’t go. I didn’t have much desire to do that,” Chimaev said on The  Hustle MMA podcast. “As a fighter, an athlete, I really like him. But I don’t like what all happened with him – The violence, the pills, the marijuana, then Muslims, it’s strange. But I still respect him – Both as a fighter and as a person. He went through a lot of things and because of this, he broke down, did a lot of bad things. And no one knows what will happen to me. It can happen to anyone. A good, normal person, but something happens and you end up in a mental hospital. I don’t judge anyone, but I just didn’t want to go.” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda)

Khabib Nurmagomedov & Khamzat Chimaev Share Similar Views On Mike Tyson

In August, Khabib Nurmagomedov made an appearance on Tyson’s podcast. After sharing what appeared to be a nice chat with the boxing icon, Nurmagomedov spoke publicly about not particularly enjoying his appearance on the Hotboxin Podcast, comparing Tyson unfavourably to football star Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I didn’t like his look,” Nurmagomedov said. “I told him right away to get rid of all the things like smoke on the table. I didn’t like being there. I liked more the way Cristiano Ronaldo looked. He looks like an athlete.”

Dana White

Dana White has reacted to Nate Diaz refusing to fight Khamzat Chimaev on the grounds that the UFC’s newest star is a “rookie” who isn’t worthy of facing him.

“They’re coming at me with (Chimaev) and I’m like, ‘Hold on, don’t disrespect me like that, trying to offer me a fight with a rookie,’” Diaz said in an interview with TMZ Sports. “I’m cool. You got four fights in the UFC. Don’t even talk my name. There are levels to this and I don’t even want to hear his name.”

“I’m trying to fight somebody in the UFC, like ASAP, but nobody wants to fight,” Diaz continued. “I’ve been trying to get somebody for a minute. Anybody in the top 10 I’ve been trying to fight, in any weight division, whoever want it. But they all want to keep their mouths shut cause they are all scared.”

Dana White Doesn’t Blame Fighters For Avoiding Khamzat Chimaev

In his own interview with TMZ Sports, the UFC president responded to Diaz’s comments by heaping praise on ‘Borz’.

“Listen, man. Khamzat is a straight murderer,” White said. “He’s a killer. He’s an absolute savage. And I don’t blame anybody for not wanting to fight Khamzat Chimaev.”

White isn’t really buying Diaz’s excuse for not wanting a fight with Chimaev.

“What do you think? What do you think? [SMILE GROWS WIDER] Listen, everybody in this business, everybody in this company is here because they belong here. There are no real ‘rookies’ per se here,” White claimed. “There are guys with more experience and some guys with some less experience.

“Khamzat Chimaev is one of those guys that’s willing to fight anybody in multiple weight classes on short notice,” White added. “He’s doing wrestling matches. If it’s a fight, he’s in, and he wants to fight you. And that’s the reality. I mean, people can spin Khamzat however they want to and I don’t blame ’em.” (Transcribed by MMA News)

Dana White has reacted to Nate Diaz publicly rejecting a fight against undefeated rising star Khamzat Chimaev.

After Khamzat Chimaev advanced his professional record to 10-0 at UFC 267 by manhandling Li Jingliang, White and Borz both set their sights on Nate Diaz as his next opponent. There’s just one problem, Diaz wanted nothing to do with it.

This, according to the Stockton bad boy himself, is due to the fact that Chimaev only has four fights in the UFC and is a “rookie.” Therefore, the suggestion that Diaz, an established veteran of the game, should fight him was considered “disrespectful” by the Californian.

TMZ caught up with Dana White this weekend and asked the UFC President to comment on Diaz’s remarks. Here’s what he had to say.

“Listen, man. Khamzat is a straight murderer. He’s a killer. He’s an absolute savage. And I don’t blame anybody for not wanting to fight Khamzat Chimaev,” White said.

White was then pressed to respond directly to Nate Diaz’s reasoning and if he thought Chimaev’s “rookie” status is the legitimate reason why Diaz is uninterested in the fight. White could not stifle the urge to smile throughout the entirety of the following response.

“What do you think? What do you think? [SMILE GROWS WIDER] Listen, everybody in this business, everybody in this company is here because they belong here. There are no real ‘rookies’ per se here. There are guys with more experience and some guys with some less experience.

Dana White has recently shared how difficult it has been to get Chimaev booked in a fight, stating that no one in the welterweight division wants to fight him. There have been reports of a potential pairing of Chimaev and Burns, and Burns himself said he’d be open to that fight, but there has been zero traction on that bout ever since the initial report.

Why do you think Nate Diaz does not want to fight Khamzat Chimaev? Because it’s “disrespectful” or because he simply wants no part of Borz?

Nate Diaz proposed that Conor McGregor should fight Khamzat Chimaev since he is “chomping at the bit” to get back in the octagon.

Diaz shot down the possibility of a fight with Chimaev earlier this week and since McGregor is so eager to get back in, he believes Dana White should feed ‘The Notorious’ to Chimaev. McGregor has always been the type to fight anyone at anytime and never shy away from a fight, no matter who the opponent. After Diaz proposed the matchup between the two on Twitter, McGregor said “No problem, b*tch”.

Nate Diaz’s response to McGregor.

Even Chimaev chimed into the action on Twitter.

As of now it looks like Chimaev may be fighting Leon Edwards soon. According to Dana White, he has something in the works for Edwards and it is not a fight for the title against Usman. The fight that makes the most sense, could be Chimaev taking on Edwards. This way Edwards isn’t sitting around waiting for Kamaru Usman and Chimaev gets a fight that could escalate his chances at a title shot in the near future.

Conor McGregor decided to take one last shot at Nate Diaz for his antics against Leon Edwards

Conor McGregor Looks to make his comeback in 2022 and he has been extremely excited to get back in the octagon. McGregor and Diaz have gone back and forth a few times on Twitter recently which has left fans with some faith that we may see the McGregor-Diaz trilogy fight.

McGregor also posted pictures to Twitter to show off the work he has been doing while sidelined. He claims to be 190 pounds at the moment and he is playing “no games when he gets back“.

McGregor Says He’ll Fight Khamzat Chimaev If “B*tch” Nate Diaz Won’t

Conor McGregor has implied that he’d have “no problem” fighting Khamzat Chimaev if Nate Diaz won’t.

Khamzat Chimaev has been on a call-out rampage ever since smeshing Li Jingliang at UFC 267 in October. The man has even called out Brock Lesnar and Georges St-Pierre for crying out loud. However, there is one call-out of a legendary fighter that was as realistic as it gets, Nate Diaz.

While that pairing was dismissed by some critics, the very fact that Dana White endorsed the idea shows that it was only one piece away from being complete. That piece, of course, was Nate Diaz himself, who emphatically rejected the fight this week.

Following Diaz’s rejection, Chimaev mocked both Nate and his older brother Nick, and now Nate Diaz has decided to help Borz out and play matchmaker for him as well as an old rival:

“Let him fight kamrat that be a great fight to make He needs a easy new guy to fight anyway he can taper back in and see if he can even still fight at all Great idea Nate Thanks.”

Plot Twist: McGregor Approves Nate Diaz’s Matchmaking Idea

Within the hour of Nate Diaz’s matchmaking proposal, Conor McGregor would respond, implying that he’d have no problem taking on Borz even though Diaz wouldn’t.

“No problem, bitch” McGregor posted in response to Diaz.

Diaz would then hit back immediately after McGregor’s snappy reply.

“Good job do what ur told BITCH”

McGregor would then respond referencing a line used against Diaz in an old exchange between the two, where McGregor requested Diaz go fetch him his coffee.

“Two sugars,” said McGregor.

It should come as no surprise that Conor McGregor was among the plethora of names that Borz has called out in recent weeks. To be precise, he proposed that they make a “big drama show.”

Should McGregor’s Twitter acceptance actually take fruit in a McGregor/Chimaev booking, then a drama show is what we would have indeed: on Twitter, in the press conference, and certainly in the climactic Octagon finale.
