The UFC is back to “business as usual” for another weekend of top-notch UFC action, only this time they’re bringing the MMA World an action-packed night of fights on free TV from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois in what is is the UFC’s real debut on FOX.

The Chicago-based event, taking place this Saturday night, will feature a Facebook-only fight between Chris Camozzi and Dustin Jacoby, as well as a six-fight card for people with Fox Deportes or Fuel TV (or both) as part of their cable package, before the start of the three-fight main card on FOX.

The main card opens with Demian Maia’s attempt to derail the momentum train of fast-rising Chris Weidman, and closes out with two title eliminators.

First, Chael Sonnen defends what he claims is the true Middleweight title against a man who feels he’s finally ready to take the physical belt and pound-for-pound prestige from Anderson “The Spider” Silva in two-time TUF coach and TUF 3 Light Heavyweight winner Michael Bisping, with the winner getting a no-questions-asked shot at Anderson Silva‘s UFC Middleweight title.

Finally, the likely headliner of UFC 145 will be decided as former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion “Suga” Rashad Evans presents himself as the toughest challenge to date for undefeated 9-0 Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis, with Rashad getting UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones if he blemishes Davis’ perfect record, and MMA legend Dan Henderson getting Jones in Atlanta if Davis improves to 10-0 against Evans.

From the opening bell until the dying seconds of the action, we’ve got it all on lock for UFC on FOX 2 at Bleacher Report MMA, and Yours Truly has the honor of dishing out every detail of the action!

UFC on FOX 2: Should Sonnen-Bisping Have Headlined over Evans-Davis?

From a marketing and business standpoint, Chael Sonnen vs. Michael Bisping was the right fight to make from the onset.

Sonnen and Bisping are two of the most polarizing Middleweights in the sport right now, two guys that, frankly, only a third of the MMA World can collectively respect simply because of the results they get in the cage. And both are two of the best active trash talkers in MMA right now.

In reality, the trash talk between Rashad Evans and Phil Davis seems a bit non-existent, outside of claims of Evans no longer having a chin and Davis still not having great wrestling-for-MMA skills. And while both have turned it up ever since the original press conference (back when Mark Munoz was scheduled to do business with Sonnen), many have looked to Sonnen vs. Bisping for all the hype and the verbal jabs needed to sell the event.

Still, was all of that trash talk and all those sound bites enough to take main-event status over the bout that decides whether Evans or Dan Henderson stands across the cage from Jon Jones in Atlanta this April?

Long story short, that depends on your bias.

Short story direct, it likely is enough for the bout to claim main-event status, even though Bisping is replacing Munoz to face Sonnen, but part of that is due to what Bisping can do that some just aren’t sure Davis can do.

Bisping can talk about how Sonnen won’t be able to out-strike him, won’t be able to outgun him, won’t be able to submit him, won’t be able to take or keep him down and, all in all, just will not be able to set up any sort of significant attack in order to prevent him from getting anywhere close to a victory and a likely June date against Anderson Silva in Brazil.

Davis is a humorous guy who has not shied away from the verbal bars against Evans, and many are starting to believe that maybe Davis deserves to be given a chance to win against him. However, outside of the possibility of Davis actually out-wrestling Evans and throwing more strikes than Evans, even if not quite out-landing him, few will be convinced that Davis actually has what it takes to beat Evans until they see the upset for themselves.

We know Bisping can sell us the possibility of him beating Sonnen, but when the cage door shuts tomorrow night, can he back it up against the toughest opponent he’s faced since Dan Henderson?

This Saturday we will see the UFC put on their second live event on Fox as Rashad Evans and Phil Davis square off in the five-round main event in what is essentially a No. 1 contender bout.

We will also be treated to a battle of the trash talkers when Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping face off in the No. 1 contender co-main event to determine who will face middleweight king Anderson Silva.

Fortunately for fight fans, these are just two of the three fights that will be available on the broadcast portion of the card, and we’ll be treated to six more on Fuel TV, with an additional fight available for the hardcore fans on Facebook.

With so much action available for free and packed into one night, let’s take some time to determine which bouts will deliver and which ones won’t.

Dan Henderson on Michael Bisping: "He Has No Chance Against Chael Sonnen"

You can add Dan Henderson‘s name to the long list of people expecting Michael Bisping to get steamrolled in his UFC on Fox 2 bout with Chael Sonnen.

In an interview with Tatame.com, the former Pride middleweight and Strikeforce light heavyweight champion gave a fairly straightforward prediction on the upcoming No. 1 contender’s bout.

“I don’t see Bisping even having a chance,” said Henderson.

Bisping was originally slated to face Demian Maia, but after an injury forced Mark Munoz to pull out of his bout with Sonnen, the Brit was bumped up as a late replacement. When it comes to styles, Sonnen and Maia are completely different animals.

Maia is easily one of the best submission artists in all of MMA, but he lacks the world-class wrestling abilities of Sonnen, who is known for persistent takedowns and suffocating top control.

It’s certainly going to be a tough bout for Bisping to prepare for.

At the prefight press conference, UFC President Dana White confirmed that the winner of this bout would move on to face Anderson Silva for the middleweight title at a later date.

Henderson feels Sonnen is next in line for a title shot, but he hopes to get another crack at Silva somewhere down the line. “The Spider” submitted Henderson nearly four years ago, and there remains no love lost between the two.

In a Twitter post, Henderson admitted he felt Silva was ducking him and Sonnen to maintain his position at the top of the division.

“I just think he just don’t want to fight us,” Henderson said. “Maybe it’s more of his managers didn’t want him to fight us, but he’s gonna end up doing the fight. Probably, Chael first.”

Depending on the outcome of the UFC on Fox 2 main event between Rashad Evans and Phil Davis, Henderson could be next in line to challenge light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

“They did offer me [Antonio Rogerio] Nogueira, but for me, it didn’t make much sense,” Henderson said.

“I didn’t think it was a good fight for me. For me to get ready that quick for a five-round fight, I would’ve been a little bit out of shape. I told them I’d do a three-round fight, but not a five-round. I would rather wait and maybe fight Jon Jones first.”

UFC on FOX 2 is already upon us, and, despite a last minute injury, the world’s premiere MMA organization has come through with a pretty solid main card.

First up, veteran Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace Demian Maia takes on rising prospect Chris Weidman, who was gutsy enough to take this bout on just 11 days notice.

Maia’s original opponent, Michael Bisping, will not be taking on Chael Sonnen in a middleweight title eliminator after Mark Munoz suffered a serious elbow injury less than two weeks before the event.

In the main event, “Mr. Wonderful” Phil Davis takes on perennial light heavyweight contender Rashad “Suga” Evans, to likely decide who is next for 205-pound champion Jon “Bones” Jones.

Bleacher Report MMA Featured Columnists Jordy McElroy, Dwight Wakabayashi, Jeffrey McKinney, Dale De Souza and myself, John Heinis, will be breaking the fights down this week.

Take a look inside for the in-depth predictions.
