Ronda Rousey not interested in fighting Miesha Tate at UFC 300 plans to have another child

Amid continued rumors linking former undisputed bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey with a return to mixed martial arts as part of a massive UFC 300 card in April of next year, the inaugural division champion currently has no interest in a fighting comeback, and is instead planning to give birth to another child.

Rousey, a former undisputed Strikeforce and UFC bantamweight champion, has been sidelined since she headlined UFC 207 back in 2016, suffering a blistering opening round TKO loss to former two-weight champion, Amanda Nunes.

Departing the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) earlier this year before switching her focus to regional professional wrestling show appearances and organizations, Ronda Rousey has been ruled from a comeback to the sport of MMA by UFC CEO, Dana White, despite ongoing speculation.

And rumors of a return for Riverside veteran, Rousey were rife and only rumbled on over the course of last weekend, with UFC Austin hosting the return of former bantamweight champion and two-time foe of Rousey, Miesha Tate.

Ronda Rousey uninterested in return to Octagon at UFC 300

Locking up her first victory via stoppage since landing a fifth round rallying rear-naked choke win over common-foe, Holly Holm back in 2016, Washington native, Tate latched onto a third round rear-naked choke win over Julia Avila – and was immediately met with encouragement to pursue a trilogy fight with Rousey at UFC 300 next year.

However, as per a report from veteran journalist, Dave Meltzer, sources close to Rousey have confirmed the former mixed martial arts star currently has no interest in making a fighting return to the UFC, and furthermore, is considering having another child with her long-time partner, UFC heavyweight stalwart, Travis Browne.

Twice deating fellow former UFC bantamweight champion, Tate during their two-fight rivalry, Rousey landed a pair of consecutive armbar wins over the former in 2012 and 2013, under the Strikeforce and UFC banner.

Do you expect Ronda Rousey to ever make a comeback to the UFC?

Off the back of her dominant UFC Austin victory last night, former undisputed bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate has been pegged to rekindle her rivalry with two-time foe, inaugural divisional titleholder, Ronda Rousey at a return at UFC 300 next year – with fans claiming a third bout between the two would be ideal for the April card.

Tate, the current number twelve ranked bantamweight contender, returned to the Octagon in the featured preliminary slot of UFC Austin overnight in Texas, turning in a spectacular third round rear-naked choke win over Julia Avila to snap her two-fight losing skid.

With the stoppage win, Tate recorded her first victory via finish since winning the undisputed bantamweight crown from common-foe, Holly Holm in the co-main event of UFC 196 back in 2016, rallying to snatch the championship with a fifth round rear-naked choke.

Twice fighting during their professional career, Riverside native, Rousey landed a technical submission win over Tate to win the Strikeforce bantamweight title back in 2012, before turning in a third round armbar win over the former in the pair’s bantamweight championship re-run at UFC 168 the following year.

Turning in one of the most dominant performances of her entire mixed martial arts career, former bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate is back in the winner’s enclosure — snapping a two-fight losing skid tonight in her 135 pound comeback, taking home a one-sided third round rear-naked choke submission win over Julia Avila in the featured preliminary bout of UFC Austin.

Miesha Tate weighs up retirement after UFC Austin this chapter is going to close

Former undisputed bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate has revealed she is uncertain if this weekend’s Octaton appearance against Julia Avila at UFC Austin may be her final final, claiming her “chapter” in mixed martial arts is most definitely approaching it’s end, however.

Tate, the current number twelve ranked bantamweight contender, has been sidelined since suffering a unanimous decision loss to former flyweight title challenger, Lauren Murphy in the pair’s title eliminator at UFC on ABC 3 back in July of last year in the ex-champion’s first flyweight walk.

Miesha Tate weighs up impending retirement

Attempting to snap her two-fight losing run this weekend in a bantamweight return against Avila in Texas, Tate who approaches her fourth fight since making a stunning retirement-snapping return back in 2021, claimed she is closer than ever to finally slamming the door permanently closed on her professional career.

“At some point, this chapter is going to close, and I certainly think that I’m much closer to the end of it than I ever have been before,” Miesha Tate told assembled media during her availability ahead of UFC Austin. “It didn’t stop with my last fight. I don’t know if it’ll stop after this fight.”

“I really feel like any fight at any point could be my final fight,” Miesha Tate explained. “And I’m okay with that because I built an emperor-worthy life. Wins and losses don’t define me anymore.”

Boasting a 19-9 professional record, Tate managed to win the undisputed bantamweight championship at UFC 196 back in 2016, submitting fellow former champion, Holly Holm with a rallying fifth round rear-naked choke win over the Albuquerque native.

Back in 2011, Tate landed the Strikeforce bantamweight title with a third round arm-triangle submission win over Marloes Coenen to boot.

Over the course of her storied mixed martial arts career, Tate has landed other notable wins over the likes of Julie Kedzie, Liz Carmouche, Rin Nakai, Sara McMann, Jessica Eye, and in her most recent win, Marion Reneau.
