Mike Swick, a one-time WEC title challenger, and The Ultimate Fighter alum announced early last year that he was diagnosed with stage-four lymphoblastic lymphoma, an aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Facing what he described as his “toughest and most aggressive battle,” it now appears that Swick has emerged victorious, revealing on Instagram that he is now cancer free.

Mike Swick shared a lengthy post detailing his battle with the disease over the last year and revealed his astonishing body transformation.

“43 and Cancer Free! As you can see by the photo, I didn’t wait around for the test results… Very positive I was gonna win this battle somehow. It can come back and I can always get it later in life but I will be much more prepared and ready and can at least always say no matter what, I kicked it’s ass!” Swick wrote. “As you can see from my timeline the last year, it didn’t slow me down. It was tough but keeping a positive mindset and not allowing it to change my life anymore than it had to was important and kept my stress down and life moving forward.

“Stage 4 of the most aggressive and deadly form of Lymphoma Leukemia. (It) was not an easy thing to hear so young and healthy but I been a fighter since I was a kid and accepted the challenge and knew this post would come one day. Literally from the day I took that first selfie, I couldn’t wait to post this,” Swick added.

On February 16, Mike Swick announced his battle with cancer on Instagram.

Mike Swick first graced the MMA cage in 1998. His exceptional debut was won by a round 1 rear-naked choke. From there, Swick continued to be a phenomenal contender in the welterweight and middleweight divisions.

After taking a loss in his WEC debut, Swick showed up a few months later for redemption in his first UFC appearance. In only 20 seconds of the first round, he knocked out Alex Schoenauer.

Swick certainly lived up to the name. “Quick” finished eight fights inside of round 1, mostly by knockout. Out of his 15 wins, only four went to decision.

His last bout was in 2015 where he took his 6th professional loss in the octagon against Alex Garcia.

Two years later, Mike teased a matchup between him and UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes. The bout would have been both fighters’ return to the cage. A fight with Hughes was Swick’s dream during the prime of his career, but, unfortunately, the match never took off.

Now retired, Swick is the founder and owner of Boxing Boyz, a metaverse boxing platform. He also owns the MMA gym AKA Thailand. Additionally, he has served as the host and creator of the “Real Quick With Mike Swick Podcast.”

On Wednesday, Swick spoke on Instagram about his cancer diagnosis and recovery.

“Anyway, for those wondering where I have been the last 5 weeks, I been battling Cancer in the toughest and most aggressive battle I have ever had. Started with a 48 hour water fast, then the first Chemo session with an additional 24 hour water fast, then a day of solid plant based organic food, followed by another chemo and fast, then plant based again, keeping this routine until the week was over. From then I kept Chemo every other day for the next 3 weeks while eating only plant based organic cancer killing foods daily.”

“I will get a scan and update in just over a week but I decided not to hide this. I want everyone to watch as I beat this BS and recover myself back to 100% with a full recovery. So stay tuned…”

Swick ensures everyone he is staying strong through recovery and will continue to keep fans up-to-date. Many left hopeful and encouraging comments to send positive vibes to the MMA veteran.

Former UFC brawler Mike Swick is dealing with what he describes as the most strenuous battle he has ever had to face.

The 42-year-old, Swick – while not specifying what kind of cancer he is dealing with – announced in a lengthy social media post that he had cancer for seven months without knowing.

‘Quick’ further disclosed that his lymph nodes were swollen, however, managed to track the issue to a COVID-19 vaccine side effect.

It turned out to be something more serious than what Swick was expecting.

Mike Swick Releases Statement Following Cancer Diagnosis

Despite what many would see as ‘bad’ news, Swick seems to be in good spirits and ready to beat it.

“Sometimes life throws you lemons, and then sometimes the whole lemon tree falls on your head! ?????

“Anyway, for those wondering where I have been the last 5 weeks, I been battling Cancer in the toughest and most aggressive battle I have ever had. Started with a 48 hour water fast, then the first Chemo session with an additional 24 hour water fast, then a day of solid plant based organic food, followed by another chemo and fast, then plant based again, keeping this routine until the week was over. From then I kept Chemo every other day for the next 3 weeks while eating only plant based organic cancer killing foods daily.

“After 7 days all 15+ swollen lymph nodes in my neck were completely gone. Never had a single fever throughout, and vitals were always normal. Round 1 went to me for sure! ??

“Then I continued same chemo and plant based routine, without anymore fasting, until I checked out a couple days ago.

“Now recovering at home and actually feeling amazing mentally! Vitals all still good but still full of Chemo and a little weak and quite skinny. The lowest I got after the fasts and first week was 151lbs. ?

“I will get a scan and update in just over a week but I decided not to hide this. I want everyone to watch as I beat this BS and recover myself back to 100% with a full recovery. So stay tuned… ??

“P.S. I apparently had this for over 7 months without knowing. Even after passing an initial biopsy on my lymph node. Since all vitals were good and I passed all regular tests and blood work, we assumed it was the Johnson and Johnson Vaccine side effects, since the nodes swole up literally the day after I got it. So if you scroll back 7 months on my IG, you can see how much fun I was having with cancer and not even knowing it. Free-diving, skydiving, training… kinda crazy. Be safe everyone and never listen to the first diagnosis.

“P.S.S. Lastly and MOST important is all the appreciation in the world to my wonderful girlfriend Julia, who has supported me more than I ever thought a human could! We are about to have an amazing Chapter 2 my love! ?
