Jake Paul says he has billionaire investors ready to back him and make the Conor McGregor fight a reality.

The YouTube star has been calling out McGregor since his second-round knockout of former NBA star Nate Robinson on November 28. It was the second win of his career, after stopping fellow internet celebrity AnEsonGib in the first round of his pro debut. Immediately after beating Robinson, Paul was quick to challenge a number of MMA stars to step in the boxing ring with him, including Jorge Masvidal, Dillon Danis, and McGregor. When asked about his offer by TMZ, Paul wanted to make sure everyone knows his offer is serious.

“It’s real as f—,” Paul said. “I’m backed by billionaires, commercial real estate billionaires. We’ve got proof.”

Paul then proceeded to pull out his phone and showed off an email he claims to be from New York Signature Bank.

The e-mail states the Paul’s investor “has liquid balances in excess of $50MM.” The name of the investor has been blacked out.

“This is real deal s—,” Paul continued. “He’s a p—-, he’s a little b—-. This is the biggest fight he’s ever been offered.”

When asked what his team had heard from McGregor’s camp, Paul said it’s been radio silence from the former two-division UFC champ, and he thinks he knows why.

“When we sent them the proof of funds, they put their tail between their ass and they’re like, ‘Oh s—, this little crazy kid ain’t playing’… He’s scared, bro. Scared to lose. And I think Dana White’s being like, ‘Well, what happens if Jake Paul lands that lucky punch, knocks Conor McGregor out, and now the whole UFC looks like a clown?”

Paul was also asked about the comments he made towards McGregor’s fiancé. He refused to apologize, and called out the hypocrisy of those who have been criticizing his words.

“(McGregor) spoke on Khabib (Nurmagomedov)’s wife. He said Khabib’s wife looks like a towel,” Paul answered. “Now he’s going to have a taste of his own medicine, and now all of the sudden people are butt-hurt. I’m going too far? F— off. This is the fight game. Why are people being b—— now all of the sudden? Same with Dillon Danis. They’vs said f—– up s— about religion, Khabib’s religion… F— those guys!”

We’ll have to wait and see if Paul really does have the financial support he claims to have and what McGregor’s response will be. Until then, both men are sure to be busy. McGregor has his rematch against Dustin Poirier coming up on January 23, and Paul is sure to be helping his brother Logan prepare for his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather. If the McGregor fight fails to come together, there’s another former UFC champion who would be more than happy to meet Paul in the boxing ring.

Do you think we will ever see Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor in a boxing match?

Former UFC lightweight title challenger, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone has successfully avenged his two career defeats to former titleholder, Rafael dos Anjos, albeit in a grappling match.

Featuring at former two-time UFC middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger, Chael Sonnen’s Submission Underground 19, Cerrone and dos Anjos shared the mat for a standard five-minute period, with neither competitor able to secure a submission in the allotted time. During the overtime period where Cerrone chose an armbar dominant position while the Brazilian chose to take Cerrone’s back — the former seemed to have scored a submission win.

Disputing the tap and the referee’s decision, dos Anjos claimed he never actually tapped, but rather pushed in a bid to escape, with the two agreeing to run back their grappling matchup, just moments later. Putting an end to any controversy, Cerrone once more started from the armbar position, this time gaining a verbal tap from his two-time UFC foe.

Clashing with Niterol native, dos Anjos twice during their UFC careers, the Brazilian managed to grab two wins over the BMF Ranch owner. In their first pairing, dos Anjos took home a unanimous decision win over the kickboxer back in August 2013 at UFC Fight Night Indianapolis.

Headlining UFC Fight Night Orlando in December 2015, dos Anjos, the then-undisputed UFC lightweight champion put his title on the line against Cerrone in a rematch — managing his lone successful title knockback via an opening-round blitz and subsequent ground-and-pound barrage.

Taking main event status in his return to his old 155-pound stomping grounds in August last, dos Anjos closed the show against short-notice replacement, Paul ‘The Irish Dragon’ Felder over five-rounds, utilising his grappling and wrestling to edge out the Roufusport mainstay

Featuring three-times under the UFC’s banner this year alone, Cerrone headlined UFC 246 against former two-weight world champion, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor in January — dropping a forty-second knockout.

At UFC 249 in May, Cerrone met with former lightweight titleholder, Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis in another re-run, dropping a close unanimous decision defeat to the Milwaukee favourite in a hugely-competitive showing.

Originally battling to a majority draw with Niko ‘The Hybrid’ Price, Cerrone seen his losing run come to an end as the bout was overturned to a ‘No Contest’ after Price tested positive for marijuana metabolites.

Despite another valiant effort, UFC president, Dana White claimed that he would be willing to have a conversation with Cerrone about possibly hanging up his gloves, however, the veteran has plans for one final run at 155-pounds.

Tito Ortiz won’t be wearing a mask or taking a vaccine anytime soon.

Ortiz is known for being a right-wing conservative as well as a believer in multiple conspiracy theories. Some of those include the COVID-19 virus as well as him being against masks.

That doesn’t particularly help when he is now a Huntington Beach City Council member as other members at City Hall have cited concerns over him not wearing a mask during meetings as per city protocol.

When contacted by the Orange County Register for comment, Ortiz responded by stating that masks were the real threat to public health.

“Wearing masks actually drops the oxygen levels required by the U.S. government, making (the) City of HB libel (sic) for dangerously low air intake levels!” Ortiz wrote in a text message.

As one would expect, Ortiz will also not be taking the newly-approved vaccines either.

“I ain’t taking that (coronavirus) vaccine – hell no!” Ortiz said during a rally last week. “Everybody talks about pro-choice and choice of our bodies. Those same people are saying you gotta take a vaccine. To hell with that! Ain’t happening!”

All in all, this is exactly what one would expect from the former UFC light heavyweight champion.

What do you make of Ortiz’s stance on masks and the vaccine?

It’s two consecutive victories for two-time UFC welterweight title challenger, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson. The road to the 170-pound top-five still goes through Simpsonville, South Carolina with fan-favourite Thompson displaying some of the most technical striking in recent memory to score a dominant judging win over Geoff ‘Handz of Steel’ Neal.

Utilzing his phenomenal footwork from the get-go, Thomspon fired from ranfe on cue, countering and evading the pace-pushing and pressuring from Neal. With just over a minute remaining in the round, Thompson and Neal unfortunately clashed heads during an exchange — opening a cut on both of their eyebrows. Round one in the books and a round for Wonderboy.

Closing the distance with a lot more urgency given the location of his cut, Neal clinched alongside the fence against Thompson, after eating a front-leg side-kick to the body. Picking each shot with aplomb, Thompson landed his shot of choice before changing direction and evading any incoming counters. Doing his best work before the buzzer, Neal clipped Wonderboy with a nice short left-hook. Another round under Wonderboy’s belt, however.

Again clinching after some more masterful striking from Thompson, Neal, who seemed somewhat dejected managed to control the Simpsonville native at the fence. Thompson again nabs a round with a more aggressive approach to the final exchanges of the third.

More of the same in the penultimate round for Thompson who landed his best shots in the center of the Octagon as Neal retreated as the former evaded. Worryingly for the karate practitioner, he noted a potentially injured right leg with some major swelling above the 38-year-old’s knee. Battling through the apparent injury, Thompson traded in the pocket with Neal, however, it was too little too late for the Fortis MMA mainstay as Wonderboy makes it two in two with a unanimous decision win.

Following the announcement of the official decision, Thompson called for an NMF vs. BMF rematch with recent welterweight title challenger, Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal.

Below, catch the highlights from Wonderboy’s second straight win as he dominates surging contender, Neal.

Scoring arguably the biggest win of his professional career, New England Cartel mainstay, Rob Font scores a massive first-round knockout win over one-time bantamweight title challenger, ‘Magic’ Marlon Moraes.

Surving a couple of early takedowns in the first-two minutes from the Nova Friburgo, Font defended well off his back, and despite partially eating a patented whipping switch kick, kept his composure to Stun the former WSOF champion on the feet.

Utilizing massive hooks and straights, the Massachusetts native stunned and dropped Moraes with referee, Marc Goddard keeping a close eye on the #3 ranked Moraes. Eventually sealing the deal and doing enough for Goddard to step in, Font landed a punshing elbow from guard before a couple more ground-and-pound strikes.

While speaking with former two-weight world champion and UFC colour-commentator, Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier afterwards, Font noted the impending return of former two-time division kingpin, T.J. Dillashaw.
