Coach makes comment Dwayne Herelle

The MMA coach of Dwayne Herelle Chris Beasley spoke with the local WKRN News 2. He said:

“It blows my mind because I never ever would expect anything like this from Dwayne. He was such a nice person. He would always go out of his way to help people … You got two different faces – you’ve got your face that you show everyone and you’ve got your face that you keep private. It’s amazing how people can look you in your eyes, be a nice person, and then turn around and be something else.”

He continued:

“The majority of the fighters that I’ve trained, they don’t have anger issues because you get to work out your aggression in the gym… it doesn’t usually equate to go out in the streets and get into fights, beat up women. That just doesn’t make sense.” [Transcript courtesy of MMA News]

Professionally, Dwayne Herelle was 0-2 as an MMA fighter having competed in 2017 and 2018.

Cain Velasquez AKA

Former UFC heavyweight world champion Cain Velasquez is back in the gym training at AKA. After nearly a year in prison, he is now out and free to train with his stablemates.

On Instagram, the AKA gym shared:

“WE ARE FAMILY at AKA.”

It is a photo of Velasquez training alongside MMA fighters such as Adam Antolin, Ant ‘The Antidote’ Do, Bobby Ngo, and Mark Climaco.

AKA was founded by former UFC champion Frank Shamrock and famed trainer Javier Mendez. Since then, it has trained notable MMA fighters such as former UFC champions Cain Velasquez, Luke Rockhold, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Daniel Cormier, and current UFC champion Islam Makhachev, among many others.

In his MMA career, Velasquez has defeated notable fighters such as Brock Lesnar, Junior Dos Santos, Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, and several others.

Is Cain Velasquez coming back to MMA?

With Cain Velasquez being back in the gym, the next question looms; is he coming back to MMA? Velasquez has spent some time in professional wrestling more recently than his last MMA bout. In an interview with MMA Junkie, AKA head coach Javier Mendez said:

“He’s got it if he wants it. He’s got it. But I don’t know now if he wants to come back. I don’t speak with him about those things. But it’s possible. If someone says, ‘Hey, here’s $2 million, let’s go fight,’ he might say, ‘Eh, give me $4 [million] and I’ll do it’ … I don’t know, but who knows — money talks most of the time,” Mendez said. “If the money is good and the UFC lets him, it’s possible that he may do it.” [Transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting]

Welcoming the opportunity to share the Octagon with former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor – particularly at the finale of a potential Ultimate Fighter 31 showdown, Michael Chandler promises a whirlwind first round against the Dubliner ahead of a potential showdown.

Earlier this Tuesday afternoon, reports emerged detailing how 34-year-old former undisputed lightweight and feartherweight champion, McGregor would be making a return to the UFC as part of a coaching role on The Ultimate Fighter 31 this year, however, an opposing coach has yet to be determined by the organization.

The recent news follows speculation that the Crumlin striker would be featuring on the reality television show for the second time during his UFC tenure, after he revealed on social media last week how the promotion had approached him with an offer to feature on the show.

Michael Chandler sells potential showdown with Conor McGregor

And off the back of McGregor’s confirmation that an offer was on the table, both lightweight contenders, Tony Ferguson, and the aforenoted, Chandler noted their interest in serving as coaches on the show against the Dubliner.

“Everybody knows I would be down,” Michael Chandler said during an appearance on Believe You Me. “Me [and] Conor (McGregor) on TUF – whether it be for six weeks, however, long we will be filming that thing, the tension, the rivalry, the competition, the trash talk – just the animosity that would be built up and then go into a training camp, and then you know, fight later on after the show.”

“I want the fight,” Michael Chandler explained. “Everybody knows that the fans want the fight, Dana (White) have gone public saing he wants that fight, so the UFC wants the fight. I’ve actually heard from numerous UFC people, that that’s the fight that a lot of people are talking about. Man [it’s a] huge fight.”

Offering to even compete at the welterweight level of 170lbs to land a fight with McGregor, Chandler claimed the opening round of their potential matchup would be truly “massive”.

Last featuring on the main card of UFC 281 back in November at Madison Square Garden, Chandler suffered a third round rear-naked choke submission loss to common-foe, Dustin Poirier last year.

Jake Paul Dana White UFC

Undefeated professional boxer, Jake Paul has reacted to recent footage that emerged which shows UFC president and polarizing leader, Dana White, slapping his wife, Anne White, during a physical altercation between the two on New Year’s Eve last during a vacation in Mexico.

Paul, who currently boasts an undefeated 6-0 professional record, is scheduled to return to the squared circle next month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – tackling the fellow undefeated puncher, Tommy Fury – the half-brother of WBC heavyweight best, Tyson Fury over the course of eight rounds.

Last time out, Ohio native, Paul headlined a Showtime Pay-Per-View card against former undisputed UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, scoring a unanimous decision victory after also dropping the Brazilian veteran in the eighth and final round.

Jake Paul comments on Dana White’s altercation with his wife

Ahead of his upcoming return against Fury on February 26. – Paul shared his thoughts on White’s physical altercation with his wife, and while he admitted that he did not want to punch down amid the scrutiny White has received, he openly criticized the latter’s character.

“I know he had his whole situation but I don’t really need to kick people when they’re down,” Jake Paul told assembled media, including Sun Sport, ahead of his clash with Tommy Fury. “What he did speaks for itself and I’ve always said I don’t think he’s a good person: look how he treats these fighters.”

“I don’t know about the fans, the feud between Dana (White) and I has been a lot of hype and it draws a lot of media,” Jake Paul explained. “And there’s been a bunch of sh*t talked back and forth, but my main thing is getting the fighters paid more. Raising the fighter minimum [pay] to $50,000 whereas it’s at $12,000 now, getting them long-term healthcare. That’s what it’s mainly about.” (Transcribed by MMA Mania)

Off the back of the incident, White has avoided any official, public punishment from the UFC, or it’s parent owners, Endeavor. And claims that he will receive punishment by the criticizm and scrunity he will receive for the rest of his life and professional career.
