Nick Diaz, a former undisputed titleholder under the banners of the now-defunct, Strikeforce, and WEC banners, has claimed that had he not have been “f*cked over” throughout his career, he likely would have landed one – if not two championships during his tenure with the UFC.

Diaz, the elder brother of former UFC lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz, challenged for both interim and undisputed welterweight gold during his tenure with the promotion, suffering a close decision loss to Carlos Condit first, before a judging defeat to Georges St-Pierre back in 2013.

Snapping a six-year Octagon hiatus in September 2021, Nick Diaz returned in a five round rematch with former welterweight champion, Robbie Lawler at UFC 266, suffering a third round TKO loss to the former titleholder.

Expected to make a return to the organization later this year, Diaz has called for a fight with former undisputed middleweight best, Israel Adesanya in his return, and has spent time recently training in Las Vegas, Nevada at the promotion’s Performance Institute.

Reacting to a post from the UFC, commemorating his 2011 Strikeforce win over Evangelista Santos, Diaz claimed that if he was not “f*cked over” during his career, he probably would have secured two championships in the UFC.

“These motherf*ckers are lucky,” Nick Diaz commented. “I got f*cked over my whole career. Otherwise, I have [sic] the UFC belt by now maybe both of them.” (Transcribed by MMA Mania)

Without a victory since 2011, Diaz most recently handed former undisputed lightweight and welterweight champion, B.J. Penn in a one-sided unanimous decision victory in his return to the UFC.

Nick Diaz landed three Strikeforce welterweight title defenses

Throughout his run as Strikeforce welterweight champion, Diaz landed consecutive defenses over K.J Noons, the aforenoted, Santos, as well as a memorable one round back-and-forth with London knockout artist, Paul Daley.

Dana White Power Slap League pay

UFC president, Dana White has dismissed concerns and criticizm regarding the disclosed fighter pay for the newly-introduced Power Slap League, after UFC alum, Eric Spicely confirmed he was approached to feature on the TBS network show, for a show and win purse of just $4,000.

White, the current president of the UFC, has continually defended the notorious issue of fighter pay and fair compensation in the last number of years, routinely encouraging critics and fans to create their own organization, and pay fighters what they feel they deserve if they have qualms about UFC fighter pay.

“Fighter pay has continually gone up every year since we owned the business,” Dana White said back in 2021. “Obviously, there’s been tons more opportunities with the outfitting policy, some o fhte sponsors that we’ve brought in that spent tons of money with the fighters too. There’s a lot of opportunity here for the fighters. And listen, there’s never gonna be a guy that’s coming out and saying, ‘Yeah, they’re paying me too much. They’re overpaying me.’ And all of these guys that are champions share in the pay-per-view revenue.”

“Listen, if you don’t like it, go start your own MMA league and pay ‘em whatever you want to pay ‘em,” Dana White explained. “This is mine and this is the way we’re doing it.”

Responding to critics who pointed out Spicely dismal offer of $2,000 to compete under the Power Slap League banner, and a further $2,000 if he emerged victoriously, White claimed fighters on the undercards of professional boxing make similar fight purses.

“How MMA started too,” Dana White posted in an Instagram comment section. “Boxing undercards make this kind of money still. Educate yourself before u open the YAP.”

Earlier this month, UFC leader, White hit the headlines after footage emerged of the promotional head honcho striking his wife in the face during a physical altercation on New Year’s Eve last during a vacation in Mexico.

Ahead of his sophomore Octagon walk, 18-year-old flyweight prospect, Raul Rosas Jr. has announced plans to not just become a single or duel-weight champion under the banner of the UFC, but plans to make history entirely – by becoming the first three-division champion in the promotion’s antiquity.

Rosas Jr., a product of Dana White’s Contender Series, made his long-awaited Octagon bow back in December of last year at UFC 282, submitting Jay Perrin with a dominant first round submission courtesy of a taut rear-naked choke.

Improving to 7-0 as a result of his first round submission win, Rosas Jr. has since been booked to make his second Octagon appearance on April 8. at UFC 287 against Christian Rodriguez – beneath a middleweight title rematch between Alex Pereira, and Israel Adesanya, and a welterweight grudge match between Jorge Masvidal, and Gilbert Burns.

Raul Rosas Jr. eyes three separate UFC title victories

Sharing his thoughts on a potential title coronation in the future amid his recent UFC debut, Mexico City native, Rosas Jr. claimed he would become a champion, then a duel-weight titleholder, before making history and becoming a three-division champion.

“I’m ready to go out there and show my skillset like I’ve always done,” Raul Rosas Jr. said during an in-cage interview at Fury FC 73. “I don’t care who I face. I’m here to show that there are levels. Tune in April 8th (UFC 287). I’m going to show my skillset and show that i deserve to fight for a title.”

“Just believe in yourself, no matter who doubts you,” Raul Rosas Jr. explained. “Right now, me saying I’m going to be champion, a lot people think I’m crazy that I’m going to become the youngest UFC champion, but I believe in myself and mark my words: I will be champion in one year or less. I’m just getting started, like this is nothing to me. I ain’t celebrating nothing until I have them three belts around my waist: 135, 145, 155, let’s go.” (Transcribed by MMA Mania)

Marlon Vera back tattoo UFC

Ahead of his upcoming UFC Vegas 69 main event clash with fellow bantamweight contender, surging division challenger, Marlon Vera has detailed a stunning new back piece tattoo – inked by the world-renowned artist, Mister Cartoon.

Vera, who currently boasts the #5 rank in the official bantamweight pile, is slated to headline UFC Vegas 69 on February 18. next – tackling fellow division contender, Cory Sandhagen in a potential title-eliminator at 135lbs.

In the midst of an impressive run of four-fight winning run, Chone native, Marlon Vera will make his first Octagon walk since he headlined UFC Fight Night San Diego back in August of last year – earning a Performance of the Night bonus off the back of a fourth round high kick KO win over former undisputed champion, Dominick Cruz.

Marlon Vera tackles Cory Sandhagen next month in ‘Sin City’

Matching with Colorado tactician, Sandhagen, Vera will be tasked with returning the Eliot Marshall mainstay to the losing enclosure, following a prior, dominant doctor’s stoppage win over Song Yadong back in September at the UFC Apex facility.

Getting some new ink ahead of his Octagon comeback against Sandhagen in February, Ecuadorian fan-favorite, Vera shared his experience with iconic tattoo artist, Mister Cartoon.

“He tattooed some pretty heavy names back in the day,” Marlon Vera said on The MMA Hour. “Not just big names, big names at their prime. Eminem, when he was blowing up in the whole entire world, Mr. Cartoon did his tattoos. Eminem would say in interviews, ‘I only get tattoo’d by Cartoon because you can’t afford it.’ He would say that in a video to the world and I’m like, ‘Holy sh*t, that guy did my whole entire back.’”

“It’s a big rooster in the middle that represents the fighting and me growing up going to rooster fights with my grandfather when I was a little kid, and my father,” Marlon Vera explained. “The crazy environment I got to live in. There’s a sign of the town I was born, which is Chone, it says, ‘Welcome to Chone.’ There’s orange trees because it’s called the ‘City of Orange’ where I was born because there’s orange trees everywhere, and there’s a road that goes around my lower back and then you start seeing buildings, a clown mask – which is Cartoon’s speciality – and a oman behind the clown.”

“The clown part is me doing all the crazy sh*t to be where I am,” Vera continued. “The woman in the back is the lady that pushed me to be man I am today. It’s little things like that, and there’s a sign up the street of the first house I bought.”

“Then he just put clouds and lights around the whole thing, that’s kind of what he’s famous for,” Vera said. “Those beautiful f*cking lights coming down, clouds and sh*t. I love it. Ten out of ten back piece.”

Colby Covington

Colby Covington is celebrating a special milestone today as it’s been announced by the UFC that he’s now passed 50 drug tests from the United States Anti-Doping Agency, formally known as USADA.

The intense ‘Chaos’ Covington has always had a way with words, and his performances in the cage might have left some suspicious of his abstinence from PEDs, but his actions have done the talking as far as his clean record with USADA goes.

With 52 clean tests to his name, it seems the sky is the limit for Colby Covington, and it’s apparent that he does not rely on any PEDs to enhance his skills and physicality in the cage.

Colby Covington praised by UFC for 50 clean tests

Starting in 2015, Colby Covington has aced every USADA test he’s ever taken. He passed one the first year of the UFC’s partnership with USADA, and followed that up with four in 2016. The years 2017, 2018, and 2019 would see him pass five, eight, and twelve respectively. While the years of 2020, 2021, and 2022 would see him pass six, seven, and nine.

The UFC would honor Colby Covington with a Twitter post to celebrate his surpassing of the 50 clean tests milestone. “Congratulations to @ColbyCovMMA for his 50th clean test under the USADA program,” the post read.

12-3 in the UFC, and 17-3 in his pro career, Colby Covington has been very dominant in his time with the world’s premier organization that is the UFC. He last saw UFC action in March of 2022 where he squared off with friend-turned-foe Jorge Masvidal. Covington would exit the cage the victor that night, executing what was a very concise game-plan to nab him the clear-cut decision victory.

Who do you want to see Colby Covington face when he returns to UFC action in 2023?

Stipe Miocic

After the UFC botched their biggest free-agent re-signing of the year, former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has come out with his own critique of the situation.

Per Dana White, Francis Ngannou was set to make the most money of any heavyweight in UFC history. However, he had a list of demands he wanted to be met. Among those, the demands included such things as health insurance for fighters on the roster, the ability to have his own independent sponsors not linked to the UFC, and the ability to make some forays into boxing while still being signed to the UFC brand.

Of those, the UFC would reportedly agree to none, and Francis Ngannou felt they wanted to give him a bunch of money so he would “shut up.

Stipe Miocic gives his take on the Francis Ngannou free agency situation

Here chimes in Stipe Miocic. Who would say on The MMA Hour: “… I get it. I mean, it’s going to be a long time before any of that happens — (Ngannou was) trying to move (the sport) in the right direction, which is great, but it’s going to be a long time before any of that happens.”

“I would’ve loved to have fought Francis again, but it’s not going to happen,” Miocic continued (H/T MMA Fighting). “Listen, it’s his decision. I wish he would’ve stayed because I wanted another crack at him. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way, but listen, he’s doing what’s best for him and his family. He thinks it’s the right way to go, and it’s his decision. I wish him nothing but the best, and I hope it works out.”

While a trilogy fight with Francis Ngannou was ideal for Stipe Miocic, his outlook on the future is simple. “(Ngannou) is gone,” Miocic said. “So whoever has that belt is the champ.”

One day, a boxing match between the two outside of the UFC may be ideal for Stipe Miocic. Who was very receptive to the idea of boxing Ngannou. “That’d be fantastic (to box Ngannou),” Miocic said. “Hell yeah, I love boxing.”

What’s your thoughts on a potential Miocic vs. Ngannou boxing match in the future?
