There is one problem standing in the way of Nate Diaz fighting again.

Nate Diaz has made it clear that he wants to return to the Octagon for another fight.

Diaz has not been seen in the Octagon since his rematch with Conoe McGregor back at UFC 202 when he suffered a majority decision loss which came five months after Diaz submitted McGregor in their first bout at UFC 196.

Diaz has been biding his time since a third bout has been off the table with McGregor.

The younger Diaz brother was in attendance for Saturday’s Bellator 199 event on the Paramount Network at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, which was headlined by Ryan Bader picking up a first round knockout victory over Muhammed Lawal in the quarterfinals of the Bellator heavyweight tournament.

After the event, Diaz spoke with MMAJunkie about his desire to once again compete inside of the Octagon under the UFC banner.

“I’ve been trying to get in there and get going,” Diaz told MMAjunkie. “I’ve been wanting to get in there and get going this year. I just got this lawsuit out of the way that I’ve been going through for the last two years, so I wasn’t even able to fight. So that’s all done and over, and I’m ready to get back to fighting if I’m going to be fighting anymore. I’m training until there’s something good to do here.”

Earlier this week, UFC President Dana White dropped some major news on the latest episode of UFC Unfiltered, which was the confirmation that they were planning Diaz versus Georges St-Pierre for the upcoming UFC 227 pay-per-view event.

Diaz stated in this interview that he is not accepting that fight.

“No, I’m not fighting that fight,” Diaz said. “Like I said (on Facebook), he cheated when he fought my brother (Nick Diaz at UFC 158 in 2013), so I just had to bring up old sh-t because they’re trying to brush it off like it’s nothing,” Diaz said. “I got other sh-t to do, and it was just weird because we never even really talked about it.”

“There was a fight I asked them for, and now that (bout) that fell through, we’re back to square one,” said Diaz, who declined to identify his opponent request.

“What people don’t understand is that any fight I fight is going to be a money fight,” Diaz said. “I’m not waiting for anybody. I’m just waiting for a motherf-cker to do something. Let’s get a real fight going. I’m not going to be involved in no weak sh-t.”

Diaz made it clear that no one interest in him right now in the promotion and that includes former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and former title contender Kevin Lee.

“Nobody interests me right now, but I’m interested in doing something,” Diaz said. “I don’t think the UFC wants any of those fights to happen because we haven’t been talking about none of them. So time will tell.”

With reports of his long-awaited UFC return running rampant, Nate Diaz made headlines of a different sort by getting into a physical incident with Clay Guida at an MMA event in California last night.

The altercation, which was chronicled by Guida’s teammate Team Alpha Male teammate Tyler Diamond (or at least his side of the story), took place at Friday night’s Combate Americas 20 in Sacramento, Calif.

The scene allegedly unfolded when someone from Diaz’ entourage pushed Guida in the back, followed by Diamond getting slapped by someone when he tried to simmer the melee.

Combate Americas is currently investigating the incident, but for now, you can watch a video of the chaos including the hilarious event of a large shirtless man plummeting over a security rail courtesy of Fancy combat on YouTube:

Nate Diaz has been in the news for his rumored bout with Georges St-Pierre this week, and it sounds like the fan favorite is preparing for the fight with some extracurricular activity.

A report from MMAFighting.com this morning stated that Diaz was involved in a confrontation with longtime UFC veteran Clay Guida at last night’s Combate Americas 20: Mexico vs. USA from Sacramento, California, with “The Carpenter” supposedly ended up bloodied.

According to tweets posted by former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) contestant and current Guida teammate Tyler Diamond, Diaz pushed Guida from behind and then slapped him when he got in the middle of the melee:

Diamond further explained the logistics of the situation, claiming that he was simply talking with Guida when he got shoved and was then hit by a member of Diaz’ entourage when he tried to calm things down:

Finally, Diamond issued some trash talk by telling Diaz he “slaps like a bitch” complete with the Stockton superstar’s normal choice of hand gesture:

Diaz was in attendance at the Combate show to support teammate Chris Avila, his longtime training partner who faced Artem Lobov in the UFC at one point.

Guida and Diamond were there to support a different Avila, meanwhile, as their Team Alpha Male compatriot Anthony Avila also competed on the card.

The promotion has reportedly launched an investigation into the situation.

Nate Diaz Claims GSP ‘Cheated’ By Using Steroids For Nick Diaz Fight

Looks like we could truly see Georges St-Pierre vs. Nate Diaz soon…

This week, the mixed martial arts (MMA) world was awash with the out-of-the-blue rumor that legendary former UFC champion Georges St-Pierre would meet longtime lightweight Nate Diaz at August 4’s UFC 227 from Los Angeles.

The rumor came from UFC president Dana White himself, as he insisted the fight would be contested at 155 pounds – a division Diaz hadn’t fought in since 2015 and one St-Pierre has never fought in despite discussing it for years.

There was little in the way of confirmation, however, as both sides stayed exceptionally quiet on the matter.

Some of St-Pierre’s teammates told UFC Tonight analyst Kenny Florian that they hadn’t even heard St-Pierre was entertaining a fight with the younger Diaz, and indeed there were several reasons why it just doesn’t make much sense. For example, the whole concept sounded a bit off given that “Rush” had handled Nate’s older and bigger brother Nick at March 2013’s UFC 158.

This evening, however, could signal that there’s truly some fire burning behind all the smoke, as Nate took to Facebook to post an inflammatory post towards St-Pierre, suggesting he was a cheater by fighting his brother on steroids, coming in overweight, and having ‘his boy’ give Nick a bad i.v.

Now, he continued, the UFC was selling fans “wolf tickets” in reference to Nick’s famous pre-fight tirade before he fought St-Pierre, so the longtime MMA legend could fight himself if he didn’t clear up his so-called issues:

A genius bit of trash talk that will certainly get the loyal-to-the-death legions of Diaz fans talking about Nate’s hopeful return, it would seem he’s moved on from the prospect of fighting Conor McGregor in their oft-discussed trilogy bout – at least for now – as St-Pierre has finally fit the bill of the big names he’ll only return to the octagon for.

This video suggests the younger Diaz is trying to lay the groundwork for what would be a massive if not somewhat confusing showdown in L.A. this summer.

If he is, well, he did a fine job accomplishing that goal.

Are you excited to watch St-Pierre vs. Nate Diaz?
