Dana White agrees to pay 50k to Nelk Boys

Dana White will hand Nelk Boys handler Gabe Souza $50,000 if he can shed a few pounds over the next few months.

White’s relationship with the Nelk Boys has been a contentious one for MMA fans. Things seemed to reach a boiling point when the UFC CEO gifted one of the YouTube troupe’s founders Kyle Forgeard $250,000 for his birthday while the debate over fighter pay continued to rage on.

In a recent video clip shared by Jed I. Goodman on X, White was once again seen offering up a ridiculous sum of money to Souza, the executive assistant of Kyle Forgeard and the Nelk Boys. If he can drop his body weight down to 190 pounds by May 16, White agreed to hand him 50k in cold hard cash.

“May 16, if you come in at 190 pounds, I’m gonna give you $50,000,” White said in the video.

In the clip, it’s revealed that White has already gifted Souza $45,000 during his weight loss journey, meaning if he meets the agreed-upon goal, he will have banked almost 100k in less than a year.

Fight fans online had an understandable reaction to the video and White’s willingness to throw copious amounts of money at the Nelk Boys while many UFC fighters continue to go into debt to pay for their fight camps.

“Dana will pay a Nelk boy for making weight but won’t pay Wonderboy,” one commenter wrote.

“Crazy how Dana throws money at these corny, rich influencers but rostered UFC fighters are fighting for pennies,” another added.

Dana White Defends Not Paying ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson

In July, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thomspon was scheduled to fight Michel Pereira at UFC 291. Pereira stepped on the scale three pounds overweight prompting Thompson to bow out of the contest altogether.

“I made weight this morning as I have done every fight during my 11+ year UFC career,” Thompson wrote in a statement published to his Instagram on July 28. “My opponent did not. This isn’t the first time I’ve had an opponent miss weight and given how that played out previously, myself and my team felt that it’s ultimately not smart for us to move forward with this fight.

“This isn’t a videogame and both of us are putting our health and our careers on the line… Fighters who miss weight face far too few consequences and are often allowed to fight with a significant competitive advantage. This appears to be happening more and more these days. Hopefully, the decision to not move forward with the fight will discourage others from missing weight in the future. I also hope to encourage fighters that face this situation to follow suit and not allow this to happen to them. I’m healthy and I will look to get back in the Octagon [as soon as possible] but on a level playing field…”

Despite showing up for work and making the agreed-upon weight, ‘Wonderboy’ never received his fight purse which prompted backlash from fans.

“So how that works is, guys don’t just get paid to not fight,” White told reporters during a post-fight press conference. “It’s not how that works. Guys have been paid. We’ve taken care of guys. Hey, listen, if you come in, and you’re making short money, we take care of you.

“You come in and you don’t fight — first of all, you decided not to fight. The guy was three pounds overweight, whatever it was, you get a piece of his purse if you take the fight. But if you deter you decide you don’t want to take the fight. We also offered him another fight.”

Justin Gaethje

Justin Gaethje may be the baddest motherf*cker in the UFC, but that didn’t stop him from getting tapped by a member of the Nelk Boys’ security team during an impromptu nightclub tussle.

Gaethje, the man many believe should be next in line for a shot at current lightweight champ Islam Makhachev, was in Abu Dhabi to corner his friend and teammate Kamaru Usman who made his return to the Octagon in the UFC 294 co-main event. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out for the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ as he suffered a majority decision defeat at the hands of undefeated Chechen monster Khamzat Chimaev.

Still, Justin Gaethje and Kamaru Usman appeared to have some fun while they were in Abu Dhabi. During their time in the UAE, the pair reportedly hit up a nightclub alongside online influencers The Nelk Boys. While there, ‘The Highlight’ decided to do a little roughhousing with an unitendified security team member.

Initially, Gaethje appeared to have things well in hand, but after finding himself caught in a kimura, he quickly tapped.

Islam Makhachev is probably feeling pretty good about defending his title against Gaethje right about now.

Kamaru Usman Plays the ultimate sleepover prank on justin gaethje

That wasn’t the only debauchery Justin Gaethje found himself the victim of. In a video initially posted on TikTok, Usman snuck into the BMF titleholder’s room while he was sleeping and drew a penis on the former interim champion’s face.

Despite coming up on the losing end of his short-notice scrap with Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294, Kamaru Usman was clearly in good spirits and both fighters appeared to have a good time during their excursion to Abu Dhabi.

UFC President Dana White disparaged the National Hockey League’s powers that be for declining to work with the NELK Boys.

In recent years, White has worked alongside the prominent Canadian YouTubers best known for their prank videos and vlogs to boost its own social media presence. Recently, White invited the NELK Boys to UFC headquarters to announce the launch of its new UFC-themed clothing line. During their interaction with White, Kyle Forgeard, the channel’s founder and creator, revealed that the NHL had no interest in working with the social media group despite its millions of followers and an ever-growing presence in Canada, a country synonymous with hockey.

That revelation earned a scathing response from Dana White, who absolutely scorched the NHL and those in charge of its marketing during a profanity-laced rant.

“F*ck ’em,” Dana White said in response to the NHL declining to work with Forgeard. “They’re all old, dumb f*cking people that have no idea what’s going on [when it comes to social media]. They have no idea where this younger generation is, how you reach them, any of that sh*t.

During his tirade, White managed to work in some social media numbers from his much-maligned Power Slap League, suggesting that their numbers were far greater than that of the NHL during this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.

“Total video views for the NHL [in] the middle of their conference finals – they did 25 million video views,” Dana White said. “Power Slap did 90 million [views]. So, all these people that are talking sh*t out there, you know, it’s all old, dumb f*cking journalists. NHL don’t want the NELK Boys? No problem. I got ’em” (h/t BJPenn.com).

Dana White Can Dish Out Criticism, But He Cant’ Take It

Dana White’s Power Slap has been a thorn in the side of fight fans since its inception. Following a successful sanctioning by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, a decision the NSAC would ultimately come to regret, Power Slap has been heavily criticized by combat sports purists for its unbridled brutality, regularly describing it as nothing more than sanctioned brain trauma. Despite the backlash and a failed attempt to reign in viewers on cable television, Power Slap has continued to thrive thanks solely to social media and its partnership with NELK.

After a brief stint on TBS, Power Slap moved to the conservative-friendly streaming platform Rumble, airing two live events thus far. A third offering is scheduled to air on July 7 at The APEX in Las Vegas during the UFC’s International Fight Week.

“We spend the money to make sure we have two healthy people in there before the fight, but in slap, they take three to five slaps per event,” White said in defense of Power Slap during an interview with Nina-Marie Daniele. “Fighters in boxing take three to four hundred punches a fight. It’s un-education or pure hate.”

UFC President Dana White found himself in the middle of a spat between Nelk Boys founder Kyle Forgeard and collaborator Bob Menery.

The Nelk Boys are a Canadian-American-based YouTube group that specializes in pulling pranks and vlogging. The group has partnered with the UFC and developed a close relationship with White as of late, but it appears that the UFC boss is now caught up in a financial dispute between Foregard and Menery.

Previously working together on the Full Send podcast, Menery claims that he was ousted from the show once it started to take off and become financially successful. Recently, Menery shared a montage of guests that have appeared on the podcast, as well as Forgeard himself, giving praise to Menery. Dana White was included in the montage, which did not sit well with the UFC boss. Taking to Instagram, White told Menery to keep him out of his “crybaby bullsh*t” while also revealing that he gave Menery $50.000.

“@bobmenery Keep me out of your crybaby bullsh*t. You are an absolute puss and I told u that and u are delusional and blew the biggest opportunity of ur life now move on like a big boy. Yes u introduced me and @kyle then f*ckin cried about it forever so i gave u 50k. So u would STFU so now STFU. It’s embarrassing”

In Menery’s video detailing his side of the situation, he claimed that he was promised multiple things that never occurred and also says that his name was dragged through the mud as rumors were spread that he was responsible for setting up Jorge Masvidal’s attack on Colby Covington outside of a Miami steakhouse in March.

“It’s actually really comical that he could even try to spin this in any way, shape, or form. Guys, I will resort to this okay? When Kyle and I went into a partnership, we made a commitment and a promise to each other regardless of how successful the show is. If the show’s successful it’s going to make a lot of money. I had a portion of that money, but I was also promised multiple multiple multiple things that just never came to fruition. Was danced around for months and months and months. At the same time, used my name, dragged through the mud. Telling people I set up Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal and all this sh*t. It was a bald-faced lie.”

Dana White and His Controversial Relationship With The Nelk Boys

Dana White’s public relationship with the Nelk Boys has been a sore subject amongst fans and fighters since its inception. Things seemed to hit a breaking point when White gifted founder Kyle Forgeard $250,000 cash for his birthday. Many fans and fighters were quick to call out White, reminding him that a quarter of a million dollars is more money than many of them see in a year. With the never-ending debate over fighter pay, it was a particularly bad look for Dana White.

As you may have guessed, Dana White simply did not care about the backlash. “All these people on the internet, go f*ck yourself,” White said in response to the criticism.

Luke Rockhold

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold was fired up at the official UFC weigh-in ahead of his highly anticipated return against Paulo Costa at UFC 278 on Saturday night.

Rockhold (16-5-0) has been chippy with the media all week leading up to his return after nearly three years on the shelf. Aside from the war of words with his UFC 278 opponent, Rockhold has taken aim at the UFC’s treatment of fighters, the Nelk Boys, and a media member for Full Send Entertainment. Nobody has been safe from Luke Rockhold‘s new tell-it-like-it-is persona including those at this morning’s official weigh-ins.

Rockhold successfully made weight by stepping onto the scale with his dog in tow and his watch still in his possession. Once his weight was announced, the former champion immediately stepped off until being prompted by a photographer to step back on the scale for a photo op. “What you want?!” Rockhold shouted back before obliging, stepping on the scale long enough to take his picture. Rockhold exited the state with the parting words, “f*cking let’s go!”

Nobody Has Been Safe From Luke Rockhold’s Wrath Ahead of UFC 278 Return

Ready to jump back into the thick of it against No. 6 ranked middleweight Paulo Costa, Luke Rockhold has been slinging truth bombs in the days leading up to his return. It all appeared to start during his appearance on ‘The MMA Hour‘ with Ariel Helwani. Discussing why he walked away from the UFC for so long, the former champion explained how the environment turned him “sour.”

“After losing the title, you get disrespected,” Rockhold said. “This is a mafia. You know how it is in the UFC. Dana ripped you (Ariel) from my seat that night and ripped you out of the UFC for doing your job. And there’s no rhyme or reason in this game and when you lose your leverage, these people try to step on you. And then you fight back. It’s a constant fight. It’s annoying. It’s f*cking sick. It’s disgusting and it needs to change.”

Luke Rockhold then turned his attention to Dana White and his association with the Nelk Boys, a YouTube group known for pranks and vlogs. They are also associated with Full Send Entertainment. Speaking to Shak Mahjouri on YouTube, Rockhold ripped Dana White for his association with the group and “popular culture.”

“Incorporating Full Send into the UFC is just the dumbest thing ever. I see these guys around here, I’m like, ‘Why the f*ck are these degenerate kids a part of our f*cking company? Why is Dana White… ‘cause he’s trying to buy into popular culture? Popular culture is going down the drain, it’s bringing the whole world down the drain, and people just need to wake up.”

Luke Rockhold’s wrath didn’t stop there when the returning middleweight took aim at a Full Send media member for giving a Mexican luchador mask to Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera who is Ecuadorian.

“I see all you guys around here right now, and I see this motherf*cker right here. You need to do your f*cking homework. This f*cking degenerate culture of Barstool Sports and Full Send, you gotta do your homework. You can’t approach ‘Chito’ and give him a f*cking Mexican mask and about his culture. His culture? He’s f*cking Ecuadorian motherf*cker. Do your homework,” Rockhold said.
