Paige VanZant shared that she only has one more fight on her Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship contract. She plans to possibly join Bellator where her husband also fights.

VanZant is coming off a 2nd loss in a row at BKFC where she lost to another former UFC fighter, Rachel Ostovich. She has since spoke out about how that fight against Ostovich has effected her mental health. The former UFC fighter and her husband (Austin Vanderford) both appeared on the ‘Punchin’ in’ podcast to talk about many things, including her future.

In the interview VanZant had this to say about her future in the fighting world, “That’s always on the back of my mind. I would love for us to fight for the same organization. I would love to fight for Bellator, they’ve treated him [Austin Vanderford] really well, especially now that he’s fought his way up to a title… I feel like it was good that we weren’t in the same organization because they couldn’t build him as a star by himself. He would be always kind of be in my shadow and I felt like now that I’m not with Bellator, he got to build himself up to a tile shot all by himself,” (H/T Sportskeeda)

Vanderford is currently next in line to fight for Gegard Mousasi’s Middleweight title. He has only had 5 fights in Bellator and his ascension has been relatively quick. He has gone from Mr.VanZant who got a shot on Dana White‘s Contender Series, to title challenger in no time.

VanZant has had her ups and downs throughout her career in the UFC and BKFC. Making the move to Bellator may be the best possible move for her. ’12 gauge’ also said in the interview that she expects to fight for 6 more years.

UFC Fight Night 124 takes place on Sunday Jan. 14 at the Scottrade Center. This event is a highly anticipated one and the fight card is looking tempting to say the least. While the men’s fights are creating a lot of noise, you can rest assured that the female fighters have a show to put up of their own. Paige Van Zant will take on Jessica Rose – Clark in what is set to be a highly competitive, ruthless bout.

Van Zant goes into this fight with a decent record of 7 wins and 3 losses. Nearly half of her victories have come courtesy of unanimous decisions. Her recent form has been confidence inspiring as she has won the 5 of her last 7 competitive fights in the UFC. However, her most recent fight did not quite go as well as she would have hoped and she was beaten by Michelle Waterson back in 2016. Therein lies her next issue – she has not fought since December of 2016. She was scheduled to come up against Jessica Eye, but that fight was cancelled due back injury and some other unexplained reasons. This is VanZant’s first competitive fight in the state of Missouri.

Her opponent on UFC fight night 124 is going to be Jessy Rose-Clark who currently has 8 wins and 4 losses to her name. Clark is an excellent athlete and very good at takedowns. Her 7 victories have included couple of knockouts and couple of submissions.

For our prediction, we cannot see VanZant being beaten here, she should get the victory by decision.

The word around the block is that Paige Van Zant’s fighting days maybe drawing to a close and the UFC are going to utilize the 23 – year old as a full – time spokes model instead. Van Zant has remained pretty much the same since making a name for herself in her debut. Technically, despite rigorous training in one of the best MMA gyms in the country, Van Zant really hasn’t shown any visible improvement.

Her opponent come UFC 216 is going to be Jessica Eye, who was once considered an elite level flyweight, but is only a shadow of her past self now. Her recent form has taken a substantial dip and she will be coming in to face Van Zant on the back of a four match losing streak.

Irrespective of the future career path that the UFC may have in mind for Van Zant or Eye, there is a lot up for grabs in this fight. It is highly likely that the winner here will get a change at a title shot in the first quarter of 2018.

Judging by recent form and confidence, Van Zant definitely has the upper hand here. It might not be the most eye catching fight as both women will mostly be looking to clinch, dirty box and hunt for take downs. So we aren’t expecting anything spectacular here at UFC 216.

For our prediction, we thing VanZant will take this one via unanimous decisions.

UFC strawweight Paige VanZant is coming fresh off of placing runner-up on ‘Dancing With The Stars’, and is carrying that momentum into her Hollywood debut on Jean Claude Van Damme’s “Kickboxer: Retaliation” film.

VanZant’s newfound superstardom has also earned the attention of officials at World Wrestling Entertaining (WWE), who have recently granted Brock Lesnar permission to compete in July’s UFC 200 event.

According to Corey Jacobs at WrestlingNews.cothe WWE is considering a ‘number of UFC women’ to be apart of their Summerslam pay-per-view (PPV) event in August.

While Lesnar’s crossover to the MMA world back at UFC 81 in 2008 brought over many WWE fans to the sport, the WWE would certainly like to receive the same treatment. Utilizing stars from the UFC would certainly bring over a fresh new crop of fans for the WWE to attempt to lower into their own product, and potentially turn them into regular viewers as well.

Former women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, a notably huge WWE fan, made an appearance at Wrestlemania 31 alongside Hollywood star and former WWE competitor The Rock.

Talk of having Rousey or UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor have been mentioned as other potential candidates to target for the WWE’s Summerslam event, however, it appears the company wants to get the women more involved.

VanZant’s manager has reportedly been contacted, but no further information has currently been made available.

According to FOX Sports VanZant could be back inside the Octagon by summer’s end. Who should the strawweight be matched up with upon returning after over six months away? And will that return possibly be slowed by making an appearance for WWE this summer?
