Veteran professional wrestling promoter and manager, Paul Heyman has hit out at former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor – warning the Dubliner he may not live to see 57 years of age if he continues with his current lifestyle.

McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion, has been sidelined since July 2021, suffering a fractured left tibia and fibula en route to a doctor’s stoppage TKO defeat to Dustin Poirier.

Expected to make his Octagon return later this annum, McGregor has been earmarked to fight the current #5 ranked lightweight contender, Michael Chandler.

Earlier this year, the duo featured as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 31 – with filming for the reality television series wrapping up last month.

Taking aim at veteran manager, Heyman last week amid the confirmation of the acquisition of the WWE by UFC parent company, Endeavor, McGregor was issued a warning against taking on WWE champion, Roman Reigns.

In response, the 34-year-old Crumlin native claimed he would break Heyman’s jaw “in three places” if he continued his warning against him.

Taking time to address the former undisputed lightweight and featherweight UFC champion, Heyman issued a scathing warning, claiming the Dubliner would be irrelevant by the age of 50, and may wind up deceased by 57 if he continues with his lifestyle.

“If he’s (Conor McGregor) relevant by 50 – we’ll see if he even lives to be 57 with his lifestyle,” Paul Heyman told Ariel Helwani during an interview over WrestleMania weekend. “It’s not that he tweeted to me. I picked the fight with im. Let’s be honest about this. He, as a Roman Reigns wannabe, did the Paul Heyman-style title on each shoulder and gave a shoutout to himself. Of course, he did. You know, the ultimate self-promoter in Conor McGregor. You know, standing nine feet tall and weighing 155 pounds at 5-foot-4.”

“So, with that in mind, I said, look at Conor McGregor, a Roman Reigns wannabe, and of course, he goes, ‘Oh, be careful, grandpa. I’ll break your jaw in three places.’” Heyman continued. “My father, who was a pretty street-savvy guy from the Bronx, he used to say, ‘If you’re going to hit somebody, you don’t go and walk up to them and go, ‘I’m going to kick your ass, I’m gonna punch you in the face, I’m gonna beat you up, I’m gonna come get you.’ They walk up and they hit you. He’s talking a good game, but he ain’t coming after ‘The Wiseman.’”

Conor McGregor is already setting the stage for a career in sports entertainment once his UFC days are done.

On Sunday, just before the second night of WWE’s annual extravaganza WrestleMania was scheduled to get underway, reports emerged revealing that Endeavor Group Holdings, the parent company of the UFC, had negotiated a deal to acquire Vince McMahon’s professional wrestling empire, merging it with the Las Vegas-based fight promotion into a new publicly traded company valued at more than $21 billion.

Acknowledging the news, Conor McGregor posted a picture of himself holding both the UFC and WWE championships.

The image quickly prompted a response from former ECW owner turned WWE manager Paul Heyman who called the Irish superstar nothing more than a Roman Reigns “wannabe.” Conor McGregor didn’t take kindly to the comment and snapped back on Twitter. “Careful Grandpa. I’ll show up and break your jaw in 3 places,” McGregor responded.

Endeavor’s Merger of WWE and the UFC Could Open the Door for Mega-Stars Like Conor McGregor to Crossover

On Monday morning, reports of the purchase were confirmed with Endeavor CEO Ari Amanuel commenting on the merger.

“This is a rare opportunity to create a global live sports and entertainment pureplay built for where the industry is headed,” Emanuel said in a news release.

In 1982, Vince McMahon purchased the promotion from his father Vincent J. McMahon for $1 million. Just a few short years later, McMahon turned the WWE (then WWF) into a global juggernaut responsible for housing some of the biggest names in sports entertainment history over the last 40+ years including Hulk Hogan, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock, and John Cena.

“Together, we will be a $21+ billion live sports and entertainment powerhouse with a collective fanbase of more than a billion people and an exciting growth opportunity,” McMahon said. “The new company will be well-positioned to maximize the value of our combined media rights, enhance sponsorship monetization, develop new forms of content, and pursue other strategic mergers and acquisitions to further bolster our strong stable of brands. I, along with the current WWE management team, look forward to working closely with Ari and the Endeavor and UFC teams to take the businesses to the next level.”

On the business side of things, not much will change with Vince McMahon still acting as the executive chairman of the WWE while Dana White will continue to operate as the love-him-or-hate-him president of the UFC.

Paul Heyman believes WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns could be UFC heavyweight champion “in a heartbeat.”

Heyman was recently interviewed by The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he hyped up his on-screen WWE client’s athleticism. He doubled down by saying he believes Reigns could become UFC heavyweight champion “in a heartbeat” should he choose to.

“He has the agility and aptitude of a Division I athlete, and don’t ever lose sight that Roman Reigns could be the UFC heavyweight champion in a heartbeat.

“The aura of him being presented as The Tribal Chief at times betrays what an extremely — all pun intended — tough man and athlete who stands before you as your tribal chief.”

Reigns has admitted in the past that he’s a fan of mixed martial arts (MMA) but has never vocalized any desires to actually try his hand inside the cage. Other WWE stars who have competed in MMA in the past include CM Punk and Brock Lesnar, both having very different results inside the Octagon.

Lesnar actually won the UFC heavyweight championship, largely due to the NCAA Division I wrestling pedigree he brought to the table.

As for Punk, he’s 0-1(1) in his MMA career (1 NC) under the UFC banner but seems to be done competing for the time being, resuming wrestling for All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

In regards to Reigns, his athletic background before wrestling includes college football and a brief stint in the NFL. Now, he reigns as the Unified World Champion in WWE, defeating Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas earlier this year.

Paul Heyman Voices His Confidence In Lesnar vs. Cormier Happening

Brock Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, has given his take on the chances of this fight happening.

The post Paul Heyman Voices His Confidence In Lesnar vs. Cormier Happening appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

Paul Heyman voices confidence in the UFC making a fight happen between heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar.

It’s been established that Cormier would like to make his next title defense against Lesnar at the UFC 233 event. Whether that fight happens remains to be seen. This is the target date but that may have changed. The reason for that is due to Cormier just beating Derrick Lewis at the UFC 230 event earlier this month.

This feud kicked off when Lesnar was invited by Cormier into the cage after he was able to score a KO win over Stipe Miocic. He won the UFC heavyweight title in the main event of the UFC 226 pay-per-view event. This fight went down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This led to Lesnar accepting the invitation and shoving Cormier in the process. He then called out the heavyweight division. Lesnar told DC that he was coming for him. As a result, it was designed to start to the build for this upcoming fight.

Although Heyman is a manager for Lesnar on WWE television, he doesn’t have an actual managerial position. However, the two have been friends for decades. TMZ Sports recently caught up with Heyman where he talked about this potential fight. At the end of the day, Heyman thinks that as long as the money is right, this fight goes down.

“As long as Daniel Cormier has the balls to step into the Octagon and put his title up against Brock Lesnar, and UFC comes up with the money for Brock Lesnar, I don’t see anything that would keep Brock Lesnar from taking the fight,” Heyman said.
