If you need some advice on how to pick up women, Alex Pereira has got you covered.

UFC fans seem to have just as much fun dissecting Pereira’s love life as they do watching him demolish opponents inside the Octagon. After his longtime girlfriend, Merle Christine disappeared from his social media, MMA Twitter was determined to find out what went wrong between the two. According to Pereira during an interview with Full Send, Christine was actually married to another man — though she did later clarify that she was separated from her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Since then, it appears as though Alex Pereira has already moved on. Last month, fans noticed a handful of videos popping up featuring ‘Poatan’ and Brazilian beauty Polyana Viana, who posted a clip on Instagram of the two grappling in Pereira’s kitchen.

So how does Alex Pereira keep getting all ladies? Well, wonder no longer as the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion has shared his secret with the world, courtesy of a video clip originally shared on his YouTube channel.

“Pull up on them and be like, ‘Damn, your face reminds me of my first girlfriend.’ Then she’ll be like, ‘Damn, you’re comparing me?’ Then she’ll be like, ‘What do you mean?’ Then you say, ‘Well, I never dated before.’”

Smooth.

Alex Pereira puts his light heavyweight title on the line at UFC 300

When Pereira is not busy mixing the culinary arts with BJJ, the two-division titleholder is gearing up for a showdown with former 205-pound king Jamahal Hill in the UFC 300 headliner on April 13. It will be Pereira’s first defense of the belt since scoring a second-round knockout against Jiri Prochazka to claim the crown in November.

As for Viana, the 31-year-old fighter is a lackluster 4-6 inside the Octagon and is coming off of back-to-back second-round losses against Iasmin Lucindo and Gillian Robertson. Overall she is 13-7 in her mixed martial arts career, though we don’t suspect it’s her work inside the cage that is keeping her under contract with the UFC.

Gillian Robertson got back into the win column with an impressive performance against Polyana Viana at UFC 297 on Saturday night.

Stepping inside the Octagon in her home country of Canada, ‘The Savage’ scored a highlight-reel-worthy finish after coming up short against Tabatha Ricci in June. Robertson entered the bout determined to get back into the win column in emphatic fashion. She did exactly that with a pummeling of Viana.

Working her opponent down to the canvas, Robertson easily moved into mount and began blasting ‘Dama de Ferro’ with a series of strikes and elbows that left Viana with no other option, but to cover up and wait for the referee to step in and save her from the onslaught.

Official Result: Gillian Robertson def. Polyana Viana via TKO (ground and pound) at 3:12 of Round 2.

Robertson has now won three of her last four bouts while Viana is staring down the barrel of back-to-back losses inside the Octagon.

Polyana Viana reveals UFC rejected multiple requests to dress up in cosplay for Octagon walk

UFC strawweight, Polyana Viana revealed that she has tried to walk out in cosplay, but the UFC has denied her on multiple occasions.

The UFC is far from the times when fighters could wear custom shorts and walk-out gear, adding a flare to the sport. For an individual sport, it seems odd that the athletes in the world’s biggest MMA organisation have such a strict uniform policy – especially considering how little fighters are paid to wear the sponsor’s clothing.

The UFC even went as far to ban fighters carrying their country’s flags, so it wasn’t too much of a surprise that Viana was not allowed to sport any form as cosplay. Viana is a big anime fan and regularly posts photos to social media of her dressed up of characters from shows

“I’ve tried so many times and I’ve actually asked to come in with a bandana,” Viana said to the media. “They’ve never allowed it. I wanted a cape. I’ve tried with like a blank bandana – I can’t. Apparently, Naruto is a brand that does not allow it or something like that. I’ve tried so many times. I’ve asked. They never let me do it, but if I could, I definitely would.”

Viana will take on Iasmin Lucindo on the main card of UFC Vegas 78 tomorrow night and will look to build on her win over Jinh Yu Frey last November. After an 0-3 start to her time in the UFC, Viana has enjoyed a nice 3-1 run in her past four and a win on Saturday could see her get a crack at the top-15.

UFC strawweight Polyana Viana delivered a knockout blow to her UFC Vegas 64 opponent and to welterweight gatekeeper Colby Covington on the same night.

Polyana Viana blew up social media after she ran through opponent Jinh Yu Frey during a preliminary bout at The APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday night. ‘Dama De Ferro’ only needed 47-seconds to put Frey to sleep with a beautiful display of striking. However, Viana was far from done giving fans something to talk about.

MMA journalist Alex Behunin delivers fans a ‘Humanizing Athletes’ piece that focuses on a fighter’s favorite things outside of the Octagon. Behunin’s subject ahead of UFC Vegas 64 was Viana who responded to the post on Twitter, revealing details regarding a romantic tryst that she may or may not have had with outspoken welterweight star Colby Covington. Leaving little to the imagination, Viana revealed that ‘Chaos’ wanted to engage in an activity that Viana found to be quite uncomfortable. And no, not like in the back of a Volkswagon.

“Colby wanted me to finger him in the a**, but I did not want to. He got upset!”

Polyana Viana’s Comments Are a Direct Response to Covington’s Comments in 2021

Polyana Viana’s reveal appears to be a direct response to the former two-time title challenger’s comments he made about her during an interview with Submission Radio.

“Everybody’s going to have to use their imagination on that one. I am not claiming to be your boyfriend, but what’s up with titles these days? Why does there have to be a title? Why can’t two adults just have fun together? And that’s exactly what we did,” Covington claimed. “We spent a couple of days together and had a great time together. I got to work on my bedroom cardio, keeping world-class championship form. And that’s that. I have got nothing but respect for her. Polyana is a great girl, beautiful girl.”

Following Covington’s claim, she called the welterweight star “revolting” and denied that anything had happened between the two.
