When a spinning kick so beautifully timed lands to the jaw of a fighter, eyeballs roll and fans go nuts. Welcome to the countdown…

While a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter is primarily focused on winning a fight in any way possible, he or she also has bosses as well as thousands and thousands of screaming fans to win over.

Fight fans don’t tune into a fight hoping for a 15 to 25 minute snooze fest, but rather for back and forth action and sensational finishes.

That being said, some of the most successful and adored fighters have been those who are willing to think outside of the box, try new things, and take risks. MMA is a show in its own right, and those capable of pulling off the flashiest of moves are those who are remembered forever.

One of the most revered and sought after moves in fighting is the spinning kick: a tremendously difficult, yet overly exciting strike.

The spinning kick must be timed perfectly, and landed right on the money, making it a move we don’t see every day. However, we have seen our fair share of devastating spinning kicks, some that have even ended the night for the victim.

Let’s take a look at the 6 best spinning kick knockouts in UFC history:

Knockout(s) of the Day: A Vicious Flying Knee From Brazil and a Spinning Hook Kick From Jersey

Thanks to CP reader Lutkus for passing along this incredible footage from Talent MMA Circuit 10, which went down Sao Paulo, Brazil last weekend. Taken from a flyweight tilt between Chute Box’s Felipe Efrain and Marcelo Bispo, this is one of the most on-point flying knee knockouts you’ll see all week within the next two hours. Guaranteed.

After the jump: The far-and-away nastiest spinning back kick knockout you’ll ever see in this article, complete with a Dropkick Murphys soundtrack.

Not only was Paul Felder’s brilliant spinning back kick knockout of Craig Johnson good enough to secure him his first lightweight title defense at CFFC 38 last weekend, it was apparently enough to score him a UFC contract. Now 8-0 in professional competition with six TKOs (including a second round smashup of TUF 12 alum Marc Stevens), Felder is definitely a fighter to keep an eye out for, and is currently scheduled to face Jason Saggo at The Halifax Card on October 4th.

Visual Evidence Confirms That Uriah Hall’s Spinning Back Kick Is as Deadly as Ever

(Video via fighthub.)

A note to all future training partners of Uriah Hall: Should you find yourself in a light sparring session with the TUF 17 finalist and pound-for-pound baddest mofo in TUF History (allegedly), SHY AWAY FROM THE HEAD KICK, MIRKO.

If you choose to pull such an insolent move, however, you will likely find yourself doubled over on a sweat-stained mat moments later, your vision tunneled, your bowels released, praying for sweet, sweet Death’s tender embrace. “Dear Lord,” you will whisper as the fluorescent lights above begin to pool beneath your eyelids, “I am ready. I am ready to be shed of these mortal bonds. Deliver me towards the soil, almighty one.” But Death will never come, and you will instead be forever known by your other training partners as “Shitkick” or “Hallsbitch” or “Ground-n-Brown.”

Poor Nick Ring must be similarly releasing his bowels right about now. As Ving Rhames once said, “Now I realize there are some things worse than death, and one of them is sitting here waiting to die.”
