Donald Cerrone and Dan Blizerian Snap Back at Anthony Smith’s Allegations; ‘This Story is Complete Bullsh*t’

Recently, UFC light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith set the internet ablaze with a rather crazy story about fellow UFC fighter Donald Cerrone and social media influencer Dan Blizerian.

While appearing on Michael Bisping’s ‘Believe You Me’ podcast, Smith claimed that during his UFC 235 bout with Jon Jones, ‘Cowboy’ and Blizerian forced Smith’s wife and mother out of their seats while “sh*thouse drunk.” Blizerian was also accused of watching pornographic videos on his phone while sitting next to Smith’s mother.

It didn’t take long for the outspoken Blizerian to snap back at Smith’s story. In a since-deleted post by Cerrone, Blizerian reached out to Smith via Instagram.

“So I saw your nonsensical story where you’re using my name for clickbait,” Bilzerian reportedly said.

“You should at least try to have some semblance of truth in there,” he continued. “First off, Cowboy invited me to that fight and he had the tickets. I didn’t ask anyone to move and certainly not your mother. I also didn’t watch porn, if she was looking at my phone I’m sure what she saw was a random Snapchat from a girl that turned out to be naked when I opened it.”

“I don’t drink so I certainly wasn’t hammered,” he added. “Your depiction of this story is complete bullsh*t.”

Anthony Smith has not yet commented on Blizerian’s response, but considering how much attention this story has brought, a response from Smith would not be unexpected.

Donald Cerrone Responds to Anthony Smith; ‘You Are Way the F*ck Off Bro’

‘Cowboy’ had his own response to Smith’s story about the encounter once the news started making the rounds.

“Okay, Anthony Smith. You are way the f*ck off bro,” said Cerrone on his Instagram story. “I can’t believe you put a story out there three years after your fight saying me and Dan threw your mom and your grandma out of their seats.”

“First of all, I had tickets in Dana’s section, two seats. Nobody was in those. But your story doesn’t make any sense because you’re saying Dan was drunk, Dan doesn’t drink.”

“And then your are saying that your parents saw him looking at porn so he threw them out of their seat but then they were still sitting somewhere else. I don’t understand your story. And how were they even have got into that section? Because that’s not just a section that people can get tickets to.”

“So you got a lot of holes in your story. I don’t understand but; I have also seen you since the fight and you never once said anything to me. So, you just wanna go on.”

While Smith was fairly complimentary of Donald Cerrone‘s character and gave him a “pass” on the situation, it appears the dispute between the two is far from over.

What are your thoughts on the dispute between Donald Cerrone and Anthony Smith?

Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith set the MMA community on fire during an appearance on Michael Bisping’s ‘Belive You Me’ podcast.

During their conversation, Smith discussed an incident where a drunk Donald Cerrone and professional poker player Dan Blizerian forced Smith’s wife and mother out of their front row seats before Smith’s light heavyweight title fight with Jon Jones at UFC 235.

“Dan Bilzerian and Donald Cerrone, removed my mom and my wife from their seats, while I’m getting ready to fight Jon Jones,” Anthony Smith said while speaking with Michael Bisping. “I was f*cking furious. If I had seen Dan Bilzerian – cause I had found out about it right after I got to the back, and if I had seen him then, I would have f*cking torn his head off, I was so mad.”

After Smith’s story blew up the internet, he followed up with Jesse Merl on his ‘Jesse ON FIRE’ podcast to provide some additional details on the incident and why he waited so long to discuss it.

Merl first asked if Anthony Smith had any idea that this story would cause such an uproar within the MMA community.

“No, I had no idea,” said Smith. “I’m just on the podcast with this thing. We just rap about whatever pops in our head and I don’t know. He brought up Dan Blizerian and I just told the Dan Blizerian story that I had.”

When asked if he had seen Blizerian since the incident, Smith stated that he had not, but did confirm he has run into Cerrone multiple times though never addressed the incident with him directly.

“I’ve ran into Cowboy a handful of times since and never said anything, but I’ve always given Cowboy a pass because I know that deep down, Cowboy’s a good dude. Sometimes you know, you drink too much or whatever and you end up in a weird circle with rich guys and sh*t happens sometimes. But I think Cowboy’s character has shown through positively more times than it has negatively.

“I’ve always given him kind of a pass on that and just been like, he was kind of f*cked up and you know, by and large Cowboy’s a good dude and I think that if I ever brought it up, I think that he would have apologized so I’ve always kind of given him a pass.”

Anthony Smith Believes It Was an Isolated Incident With Cerrone, but Is Not Willing to Give Blizerian the Same Benefit of the Doubt

When asked about his knowledge of Dan Blizerian, Smith said that he only knew about Blizerian from what he had seen social media and heard from others.

“I don’t even know Dan. I guess I just know of what I’ve seen on social media and then what I’ve heard about him from people that do know him. Other than this one thing, he’s never done anything to me. It’s just a, you know, this is a one-off and I’ve always just assumed that he was just a [hell of a] douchebag.

“Just because that was my mom, it’s a story, you know what I mean? And because of the situation that was going on when it happened, it’s a deal, but how many times has he done that to just regular folks, you know what I mean? That’s the thing people are probably latching on to.

“I’m not out here trying to attack Dan and definitely not Cowboy. If I had an issue with Cowboy, there’s been plenty of situations for me to deal with that issue. Whether that be bring it up to him or flip out or whatever. Maybe I’m a weirdo because I haven’t. Initially I was pretty pissed as well, but I think the more I thought about it like, when you stick me in a room with a bunch of millionaires or whatever, you get blacked out drunk, I can’t guarantee that I wouldn’t do something stupid.”

While Smith is willing to give Cerrone the benefit of the doubt, he was unwilling to do the same for Blizerian given his reputation. According to Smith, the two have not crossed paths since the incident but says he would have a conversation with Blizerian regarding the situation should they bump into one another.

“I think that was probably just an isolated situation [for Cowboy] and I don’t necessarily believe that it’s that isolated of a situation when it comes to Dan Blizerian. I could have gotten ahold of Dan if I wanted to. I always just figured I’d see him when I seen him and we would have a conversation about it.”

When asked what kind of conversation, Smith said, “I think that depends on him. I think he decides where that conversation goes.”

On This Day Three Years Ago…

[ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED MARCH 6, 2019, 9:22 AM]

Colby Covington wasn’t even competing at UFC 235 over the weekend but was still one of the event’s biggest stories. “Chaos” had confrontations with the likes of UFC President Dana White, Kamau Usman, NFL star Todd Gurley, and more. However, it sounds like he also had a brief run-in with UFC mega-star Nate Diaz.

Speaking to “The Ariel Helwani MMA Show”, Covington said the Stockton native flipped him the bird while passing by cageside (via MMA Mania):

“Our skill level is way apart from each other. He’s a bottom feeder,” said Covington. “It was funny because he walked by me and he said, ‘F*ck you Colby.’ And he flipped me off when I was sitting front row and he walked by cageside. It’s just funny. keep that energy Nate. If you’re so tough, let’s see it inside the cage, b*tch.”

Diaz hasn’t fought since his 2016 rematch with Conor McGregor at UFC 202. He was briefly scheduled to fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 230, but an injury to “The Diamond” forced that fight off. Now, Diaz’s return to the Octagon remains up in the air.

After Usman was crowned the new king of the UFC’s welterweight division, Covington is expected to get the next crack at the title. A key reason for Covington’s ruckus all weekend was his lobbying for a title opportunity. It looks like all the self-promotion finally paid off.

What do you think about Covington’s comments regarding his run-in with Diaz?

It remains to be seen what’s next for former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. “T-Wood” comes off of a unanimous decision loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 in March where he lost the 170-pound strap.

Usman dominated Woodley for all five rounds, winning the first UFC title of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career. Now, Woodley has taken to a recent live stream on social media to reflect on the loss. Woodley actually thanked Usman for humbling him with the defeat, seemingly rejuvenating the former champion’s training. (H/T BJPenn.com)

“Even in loss man, I thank Usman for that fight because I had to check myself,” Woodley said. “I had to humble myself, I had to put myself back on the grind. I had to put myself back to where I was at when I f*cking got to the top, very uncomfortable place. Sparring world champion boxers and getting beat up.

“Wrestling division I wrestlers on a day-to-day basis. Running, training, strength, and conditioning at weird hours and just really get my body to a point where f*cking it couldn’t stand me. It hated me for what I was doing to it and that’s what I did. I got back to that now.”

Usman actually took part in his own live stream, and was asked about rematching Woodley down the line. “The Nigerian Nightmare” said he’s absolutely down to fight Woodley again, or anyone for that matter, if the money is right.

“Absolutely, why not?” Usman said. “I’ll fight anybody again if the money’s right.”

Usman will make the first title defense of his career against Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 245 on pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 14.

Do you think Woodley will ever rematch Usman inside the Octagon?
