According to a report out of Brazil by Combate, former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao will test his skills at featherweight against Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night 88.
The event is scheduled for May 29, a few weeks after UFC 198 goes down in Brazil.
Barao (33-1) lost the bantamweight title to T.J. Dillashaw and was unsuccessful in a rematch. The 29-year-old Brazilian had won 32 of his first 34 bouts, including UFC wins over Urijah Faber, Eddie Wineland and Michael McDonald.
Stephens (24-12) is just 1-3 over his last four, but all three defeats have been via decision to Max Holloway, Charles Oliveira and Cub Swanson. In did win three straight from 2013-14, besting Estevan Payan, Rony Jason via knockout and Darren Elkins.
