The feud between Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier appears to be over.

On the most episode of ‘DC & RC’, Cormier put McGregor at the top of his list of “must-see” UFC fighters.

Despite the animosity with McGregor, Cormier insisted that the Irishman is the biggest draw in MMA history and he says that fact is evidenced by the pay-per-view numbers.

“The person that draws in the most eyeballs is the most must-watch guy the sport has ever seen,” Cormier said. “McGregor has – I don’t know – four of the top five grossing pay-per-views of all time. So if got to take a number one pick and you’re building an organization for success, you gotta take Conor McGregor.” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda)

“Fair, although I would say I am 1 thru 5 before other comes in, but I understand,” McGregor wrote on social media in response to Cormier putting him at the top of his “must-see UFC fighters” list. “Respect Daniel, carry on, god bless. Nice one mate, get a bottle of 12 onto the set now. You were seen! @ProperWhiskey has landed The Big P 12 @laura_sanko @espn #tasty #forbesnumber1″

Jake Paul

Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal appeared to be pals ahead of the YouTuber’s fight with Ben Askren in April. ‘Gamebred’ and Paul even trained together ahead of the bout.

In the build-up to Paul’s next fight against Tyron Woodley, the mood has changed, with Masvidal backing ‘The Chosen One’ to spectacularly knockout the 24-year-old on August 29.

“So, it’s not to diss Jake…Woodley can throw them hands; Ben Askren never could,” Masvidal told Ariel Helwani. “Woodley could’ve made his money grappling, which he did. He’s good enough of an athlete, and he’s good enough of an athlete to make his money with his hands and knock people the f**k out. I know Jake’s never been in there with a guy like that – That’s explosive, is a good athlete, and has a ton of experience over. So, (if) Jake wins, f**king wild. My hat’s off to him. I was wrong. I don’t know sh** about fighting, right? But, chances are Woodley‘s gonna knock him the f**k out.”

During a recent interview with Combat Culture, Paul reacted to Masvidal’s prediction, he said.

“He’s going to eat those words very quickly. This is coming from a guy who just got knocked out cold in an embarrassing way. Maybe he doesn’t know that much about fighting.”

“I think Jorge has done a lot for this sport. I think he’s a good guy, but, unfortunately, my friend it’s a new era. Of course, he’s going to side with his boy. Maybe Jorge’s next.”

After getting wind of Paul’s comments Masvidal took to social media.

“I guess this means you’ll stop hitting me up now on social media to hang out and train,” Masvidal wrote on Twitter. “Don’t worry about me you got a handful of problems coming your way #supernecessary”

“You played yourself,” Paul wrote in response alongside a image of Masvidal taken from UFC 261. “It’s super necessary you get your boss Dana to give you permission to get in the ring with me since you supposed to be nice with your “hands””

If Jake Paul beats Tyron Woodley, do you want to see him fight Jorge Masvidal next?

Dustin Poirier Names Max Holloway Fight as His Toughest UFC Win

Dustin Poirier Max Holloway

Dustin Poirier has fought and beaten some of the biggest names in the history of the UFC. Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez, and Conor McGregor are just a few of the names that Poirier has added to his legendary fighting resume.

But when it comes to discussing the best wins of his career, Poirier puts former UFC featherweight champion and former interim lightweight title challenger Max Holloway at the top of the list.

Poirier earned the interim lightweight title at UFC 236, in a back-and-forth war in which he squeaked out the unanimous decision win in a fight that had its fair share of challenges. While Holloway lost his lightweight debut, he earned the respect of Poirier as an extremely skilled opponent.

During a recent question-and-answer session on ESPN+, Poirier explained why he thinks Holloway gave him his toughest challenge out of any of the fights he’s won.

“He matched the grit that I bring, which I don’t think is easy to do, and his durability was amazing,” Poirier said. “He took some heavy shots, I knew he was hurt multiple times, and every time the bell rang, he answered it.”

“He came out ready to scrap and I’m thankful for it because I learned a lot in that fight.”

After defeating Holloway, Poirier went on to lose the lightweight title unification bout against then-champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi. He would go on to beat Dan Hooker in a five-round war before earning back-to-back wins over McGregor.

Holloway is coming off arguably the best performance of his career against Calvin Kattar and before that losing back-to-back controversial decisions against UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. Many have advocated for a third fight between him and the champion in the future.

What are your thoughts on Dustin Poirier’s comments regarding Max Holloway?

Stipe Miocic Plans Meeting with UFC Brass in September, Wants Title

Stipe Miocic wants to get the heavyweight title back and is planning on meeting with UFC president Dana White to plan out a potential path to make that happen sooner rather than later.

Miocic has been relatively quiet since getting knocked out against Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 earlier this year. He was rumored to be in the running to fight Jon Jones, but contract negotiations never seriously materialized.

Miocic is highly regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights in combat sports history, and arguably the greatest in UFC history despite losing his belt to Ngannou. During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Miocic revealed that he plans to meet with White next month to figure out when he could eventually return to the UFC octagon.

“We’re going to have a sit down here in September with Dana,” Miocic said. “We’ll figure it out from there. We’ll hopefully figure that out in the next month. We’ll get there. Dana has been texting me and everything is in negotiations.”

Miocic went on to reiterate his desire to compete for another shot at the UFC heavyweight title as soon as possible.

“That’s what I would love. I’m definitely aiming for that. I’m not crying about it or anything, but I just feel like I deserve it.”

Before his loss to Ngannou at UFC 260, Miocic was on a roll as the UFC heavyweight champion after winning his trilogy with former UFC double-champion Daniel Cormier. Before that, he had dominated Ngannou in their first matchup after winning his first three title defenses as the champion.

Miocic and the UFC heavyweight title picture is quite unusual at the moment, with the interim champion Ciryl Gane defeating Derrick Lewis in an interim title fight that many felt shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Whether or not his next fight will be for a title is unclear, but he’s sure to get a big-name opponent in his comeback.

Who do you think Stipe Miocic should fight next?

Michael Chandler Teases UFC 268 Clash With Justin Gaethje: ‘November 6. We Party’

Michael Chandler

Despite recent speculation that his UFC 268 potential lightweight title-eliminator against former interim gold holder Justin Gaethje may be in jeopardy, recent vacant title chaser, Michael Chandler appears to have signed his contract to meet with the Arizona favorite on November 6.

Chandler, who last featured at UFC 262 back in May, suffered a second round knockout loss against the surging, Charles Oliveira in a vacant lightweight title fight — dropping his first loss under the banner of the UFC following a January knockout win of his own against Dan Hooker on ‘Fight Island’.

The Sanford MMA mainstay was then linked with a showdown opposite former interim titleholder, Gaethje before the close of the year, with reports detailing how the promotion was targeting a pairing of the two to land on November 6. at UFC 268 — with Madison Square Garden in New York City tentatively earmarked as a potential venue for the pay-per-view event.

However, Chandler himself cast doubt on a pairing with the ONX Labs mainstay, suggesting that the recently introduced COVID-19 vaccination mandate in New York City would prevent him from entering or competing at UFC 268, given the fact he would not be inoculated against the novel coronavirus in time for the event.

The Missouri veteran remained coy about receiving a vaccination, stating that he would not consider vaccination until a vaccine had received full approval from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

When asked on Twitter earlier this week if he would receive the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine after it had received full FDA approval, Chandler insisted that he would not, “FDA approval or not” and how that was his choice to make.

I don’t want it,” Chandler tweeted in response. “FDA approval or not. Real enough for you? I have no problem with people getting it. We all have a choice… this is mine.

However, taking to his official Twitter account last night, Chandler claimed that he had signed his contract to meet with Gaethje and that they would “party” on November 6. at UFC 268.

Signed, sealed, delivered,” Michael Chandler tweeted. “November 6. we party!

The November pairing with Gaethje would mark the #4 ranked Chandler’s third Octagon appearance, while the #2 rated Gaethje would return for the first time since UFC 254 in October of last year, where the then-interim title holder failed to unify the crowns, suffering a rather one-sided second round triangle loss to the now-retired, Khabib Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

UFC 268 takes place on November 6. with a welterweight championship rematch between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington scheduled to headline the pay-per-view event.

Former One Direction member, Niall Horan donned a spot-on impression of Irish compatriot, former undisputed UFC lightweight and featherweight kingpin, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor during his opening monologue on a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! — even bili strutting as well as impersonating some of the Dubliner’s most iconic catchphrases.

The Mullingar-born singer-songwriter featured as a guest host on the talk show, where he began his opening monologue, detailing American people’s reaction when they find out he’s from Ireland — which usually includes claims that their distant relative is also Irish.

The 27-year-old then joked about the difference between St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland and the United States and how they are celebrated in each country, claiming that there’s a vast difference between the festivities.

On St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland, you just go to mass and light a candle with your granny,” Horan said. “Here in America, you just sing U2 songs all day and then puke green beer on your Uber driver.

Touching on the idea of the “Fightin’ Irish” Horan compared the Notre Dame mascot, that of a leprechaun to former United States president, Abraham Lincoln, and a garden gnome.

If you want real “Fightin’ Irish” according to Horan, then look no further than his compatriot, the aforenoted, McGregor, whom he claimed would “pull your heart right through your arse“.

Bili strutting in McGregor fashion as well as sporting his best Dublin accent, Horan sported an impression of the 33-year-old lightweight contender; “Who the f*ck is Abe Lincoln anyway, he’ll do absolutely nothing,” Horan said. “I’ll fight him any day.

Following former lightweight and featherweight champion, McGregor’s successful UFC 202 majority decision rematch victory over Stockton favorite, Nate Diaz back in August 2016 — Horan posted a picture of himself with the Dubliner, claiming that McGregor made Ireland proud again — as well as offering his respect to both competitors.

Never seen anything like that,” Niall Horan posted. “It was an absolute honor to be there tonight to watch two absolute warriors go toe to toe in battle. So much respect for both of them. Congratulations, Conor (McGregor) you’ve made our small country proud again, and Nate (Diaz) what a fighter and gladiator.

As for McGregor-himself, the Straight Blast Gym mainstay currently remains in Beverly Hills following recent surgery to repair a fractured tibia in his left leg — suffered in his first round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to three-time rival, Dustin Poirier last month at UFC 264.
