Tyson Fury remains adamant that he will square off against Francis Ngannou inside the Octagon and says he’s happy to wear 4oz gloves but will not partake in a traditional MMA bout.

‘The Gypsy King’ is currently preparing for a trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder. The heavyweight duo will square off for a third time on July 24 after an arbitrator ruled Fury owes ‘The Bronze Bomber’ a rematch.

That ruling scuppered plans for an all-English heavyweight undisputed fight with Anthony Joshua. ‘AJ’ currently holds three of the four major world titles and is expected to face the winner of Fury-Wilder III provided he gets by his WBO mandatory challenger, Oleksandr Usyk, in September.

Fury has frequently linked up with MMA fighters for training. Most recently, he was in the gym with Nick Diaz, who is expected to return to the sport later this year.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Fury revealed that Diaz gave him some information about the current UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou.

“Nick looks good,” Fury told TMZ Sports. “Nick is training hard and he is making his comeback. He did tell me that Ngannou can’t do any wrestling anyway, so we are just looking for a stand-up bang out.

Fury wants his future fight with Ngannou to take place with modified rules.

“Me and Ngannou in the small gloves, let’s make it happen, Fury added: “As soon as I am done with Wilder and Joshua, I will fight Ngannou in an octagon, in the four ounce gloves and just punching.” (Transcribed by TalkSPORT)

Ngannou’s UFC career is currently in limbo. The Cameroonian knockout artist picked up the heavyweight strap in March but is already facing the prospect of an interim champion. Ciryl Gane and Derrick Lewis are set to scrap for the secondary belt in August despite the fact Ngannou will be ready to return to the Octagon one month later.

Henry Cejudo thinks Conor McGregor has “lost his groove” and will get knocked out once against when he faces Dustin Poirier for a third time at UFC 264 on July 10.

Poirier and McGregor currently hold one win each heading into their trilogy bout. The pair first met in 2014, with ‘Notorious’ picking up a quick KO win during his sensational run to featherweight gold.

Earlier this year, ‘The Diamond’ avenged his most famous defeat and did so in style. Poirier wrestled early before utilizing leg kicks and elite-level boxing to become the first man to KO McGregor in MMA.

During an appearance on the Real Quick with Mike Swick podcast, Cejudo explained why Poirier will once again stop McGregor.

“It’s not going to go good for Conor in my eyes,” Cejudo said. “I think it’s going to go the same way. Poirier is going to stop him again because he lost his groove. His icebox got wet, like that Chris Brown song. That was a part of the swagger, when you lose that, you can come back to it, but it’s not the same for the other person.

“It may be the same to you, but it’s not going to be the same for the opponent. I think they’ll fight the third round, but Poirier is going to stop him again. I don’t know how. It might be the kicks again or might be hands.” (Transcribed by MiddleEasy)

Cejudo retired from MMA following his win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. ‘Triple C’ has been teasing a return to the Octagon ever since. The Olympic gold medallist has stayed in the limelight by calling out champions at several different weight classes and also enjoying some banter with social media star, Hasbulla Magomedov.

Do you agree with Henry Cejudo? Will Dustin Poirier KO Conor McGregor at UFC 264?

A fun featherweight fight is set as Edson Barboza is reportedly booked to face off against Giga Chikadze on August 28.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN took to social media to reveal the match-up is expected to headline next month, he wrote.

“Fun one here … Edson Barboza (@EdsonBarbozaJR) vs. Giga Chikadze (@giga_chikadze) will headline UFC Fight Night on Aug. 28, per sources. Glad to see these two get some main event shine. Well deserved. Not to mention, a banger of a fight.”

Barbosa looked sensational last time out as he sensationally stopped Shane Burgos at UFC 262 on May 15. The Brazilian currently holds two wins from three fights at featherweight and can count himself unlucky to have been on the wrong side of a split decision in his divisional debut which came against Dan Ige.

Chikadze is one of the brightest prospects in the 145lb division. In 2020, he picked up four victories inside the Octagon to set himself up for a bumper 2021. Earlier this year, Chikadze picked up the biggest win of his career when he quickly stopped Cub Swanson at UFC Vegas 25. Ever since the Georgian fighter has been calling out even bigger names and it appears he’s finally landed one.

Who do you think will win on August 28? Edson Barboza or Giga Chikadze?

UFC flyweight Mariya Agapova faced some tough moments that led up to her withdrawal from the infamous American Top Team, but her manager is denying accusations of drug use and hostile behavior that allegedly led to the split.

It all started when Agapova’s now-former teammate, Maryna Moroz gave her side of the story behind Agapova getting kicked from the gym. She accused Agapova of threatening violence against her fellow ATT colleagues and also arriving at practices under the influence.

In addition, Moroz accused Agapova of intentionally looking to inflict injury on her during multiple occasions in the gym. She also said that Agapova would routinely use money supposed to be used for food to acquire drugs such as mushrooms and other herbs.

“Mariya went through some difficult moments,” Davis said in a statement made to MMA Fighting. “She was all alone [in the United States], but now she’s been through therapy, she’s much better and she’s already training for a fight. It had nothing to do with drugs. Absolutely nothing.”

“This is Mariya’s private life that we’re not going to make an issue to make her private life public. She came to the states from Kazakhstan, she went through some difficult moments, she had some crises, she got therapy, she’s doing very, very well now. She’s already training for a fight. There are no drugs. It has nothing to do with it.”

Despite the accusations, USADA has tested Agapova twice during the calendar year and hasn’t tested positive for any prohibited substances. The former Dana White‘s Contender Series standout has split her first two UFC outings after a brief stint with Invicta FC.

Davis also went on to say that Agapova suffers from anxiety but denied any drug abuse to go along with it. It’s unclear as to whether or not the UFC or ATT will investigate the accusations made by Moroz further.

Jorge Masvidal Wants Colby Covington or Nick Diaz in Fall UFC Return

Jorge Masvidal is seeking vengeance on the UFC’s welterweight division after back-to-back losses to champion Kamaru Usman and has a couple of big names in mind when it comes to his targeted Fall return to fighting.

Masvidal has been a busy man as of late, beginning the opening shows of his Gamebred FC promotion in his first experience as a fight promoter. Just a few months after his devastating knockout loss at UFC 261 in Jacksonville, Masvidal is already starting to reportedly stir the spot and brainstorm on what’s next for his UFC career.

MMA reporter Ariel Helwani was the first to report that Masvidal wants to fight later this year, preferably against either top welterweight contender Colby Covington or the returning legend Nick Diaz.

“Spoke to Jorge Masvidal’s manager, Abraham Kawa, about what’s next for Masvidal,” Helwani tweeted. “He said Masvidal is targeting a return in October/November against either Nick Diaz or Colby Covington.”

UFC president Dana White has already stated on multiple occasions that Covington will be the next title challenger to Usman’s belt. Covington and Usman fought in arguably one of the greatest UFC welterweight title fights back at UFC 245 and fans and UFC officials have been clamoring for a rematch ever since. Covington has been inactive and hasn’t fought since his win over Tyron Woodley at UFC Vegas 11.

Diaz has long been rumored to be making a return to the UFC following long suspensions handed out by USADA and NSAC. Diaz hasn’t fought since his no-contest against Anderson Silva back at UFC 183 after Silva tested positive for PEDs.

Masvidal has exploded to stardom since his incredible run back in 2019, with wins over Darren Till, Ben Askren and Nate Diaz. He has quickly become one of the most popular fighters in MMA today due to his ferocious style in the octagon along with his street-savvy persona outside of the cage.

Who do you think Jorge Masvidal should fight next in his next UFC bout targeted for later this year?
