One of the greatest to ever do it returns to the octagon this weekend, as Jon Jones faces off against Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285.

Join us below as we break down our top 3 bets from UFC 285!

Ciryl Gane ML

No doubt a controversial pick, but Ciryl Gane is a natural heavyweight who has competed 6 times since Jones last fought. Gane is a slick striker, with KO power in his hands. Jones’ last two performances, against Dominick Reyes and Thiago Santos, were decidedly flat and somewhat uninspiring. If he looks anything like he did in those fights, Gane should have a field day.

Of course, Jones may well come out looking on fire. The absence from the cage and the change in weight class makes it very hard to call. But we’re going to back Ciryl Gane. The Frenchman’s ML can be found on Betway at +133.

Jalin Turner ML

In our second bet for this card, we’re taking another underdog. Jalin Turner is set for his biggest test in the 155lb division to date, as he takes on Polish standout, Mateusz Gamrot.

Turner was initially scheduled to face Dan Hooker, but after ‘The Hangman’ broke his hand in training, the UFC were forced to go looking for another top-ranked lightweight. Up stepped Mateusz ‘Gamer’ Gamrot, looking to get back to winning ways after coming up short against Beneil Dariush in 2022.

Gamrot is the favorite, and it’s clear why. His wrestling and grappling is of a very high level. However, Turner is a huge 155er, and a natural finisher. Gamrot is also taking this fight on short notice. We are backing Turner to land some heavy shots, put Gamrot is tricky situations, and push for the finish later in the fight.

Jalin Turner’s ML is lined at +150 by Betway.

Shevchenko, Rakhmonov, Nickal, Garry Parlay.

A juiced up 4 leg parlay, what could go wrong?

Valentina Shevchenko takes on Alexa Grasso in the co-main event. Grasso is a talented fighter, but was dominated on the ground by Carla Esparza. Shevchenko is considerably bigger than Esparza, and has shown she can land devastating ground and pound, especially if she can get to that crucifix position.

Shavkat Rakhmonov is the next big thing at 170lbs. Geoff Neal will be a tough test, but we have Shavkat winning where ever the fight goes.

Bo Nickal is an elite wrestler with slick submissions, touted to be a future world champ. This is a fight that he really should be winning if these expectations are to be lived up to.

Ian Garry is another top prospect, and probably should have been given a step up in competition. Instead, he faces off against Kenan Song, in what will likely be a fun fight, but quite possibly a Garry shutout.

These 4 fighters’ ML’s parlayed together is currently sitting at around -141 on Betway.

Who are you taking at UFC 285!?

Jon Jones doubts Ciryl Gane ahead of UFC 285: ‘It’s crazy you consider him the most technical kickboxer I’ve faced’

Jon Jones UFC 285 Ciryl Gane Kickboxer

Ahead of his Octagon comeback this weekend in the main event of UFC 285, former two-time undisputed light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones has questioned fan opinion of former interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane, doubting the French striker is the most technically proficient kickboxer he has faced during his career.

Headlining this Saturday’s pay-per-view event in Las Vegas, Nevada, look-see-do veteran, Jones will snap a three-year hiatus from the sport in a vacant heavyweight title fight against Gane, marking his first Octagon walk since February 2020.

In his most recent outing, Jones, a former Jackson-Wink MMA staple headlined against Dominick Reyes in Houston, Texas – nabbing a close, debated unanimous decision victory to lodge his final light heavyweight championship defense.

Jon Jones appears confident he’s faced more superior strikers than Ciryl Gane

And ahead of his return against Gane this weekend, Jones, who also narrowly defeated recent PFL (Professional Fighters League) acquisition, Thiago Santos during his second title reign, claims the Brazilian is a far more skilled striker than his upcoming foe.

Man, I just finished watching my Thiago Santos fight again,” Jon Jones tweeted. “I think it’s crazy that you guys consider (Ciryl) Gane the most technical kickboxer I’ve ever faced. Everything Thiago did have bad intentions on it. Dude had lightening speed, power, explosiveness. (And) Crazy versatility.”

Whilst insisting ahead of UFC 285 how he is not looking past former interim titleholder, Gane, Jones admitted that he has one eye on a first attempt heavyweight title defense against former two-time division gold holder, Stipe Miocic

You know, Stipe Miocic would be a great challenge,” Jon Jones said. “Obviously, I’m not looking past Ciryl Gane – I’ve got a huge, huge order ahead of me. But Stipe Miocic is who I’ve got my eyes on. People consider him the greatest heavyweight of all time.

And the opportunity to compete against such a man, I’d be honored,” Jon Jones explained. “The opportunity to beat such a guy would be truly something special and that’s what I want to do. I want to solidify my legacy, and I know you have to fight the best guys out there. And as long as Stipe’s still in the game, that would be the next – that would be my next target.

Logan Paul Boxing UFC Nate Diaz

UFC welterweight alum and former lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz has taken aim at Logan Paul – the elder brother of professional boxer, Jake Paul following the latter’s Saudi Arabia outing against Tommy Fury – claiming the former needs to get his “ass beat”.

Diaz, a former lightweight title challenger under the banner of the UFC and a winner of The Ultimate Fighter – most recently competed professionally back in September of last year atop a UFC 279 pay-per-view card against former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson.

Snapping a run of two consecutive losses, Stockton fan-favorite, Nate Diaz turned in a fourth round submission victory over Ferguson – latching onto a guillotine choke.

Linked with a move to professional boxing off the back of his submission win over Ferguson and subsequent UFC departure, Diaz has welcomed a fight with the aforenoted, Jake Paul – who headlined an event in Riyadh against the above mentioned, Fury last night over the course of eight rounds – suffering the first loss of his professional career in a split decision blemish

Logan Paul has been criticized by UFC veteran, Nate Diaz

Sharing his thoughts on Logan Paul – whom suffered a decision loss to YouTuber and musician, KSI in his sole professional boxing match, Diaz criticized he Ohio native for voicing his opinion on the fight between his brother and Fury mid-fight.

This guy (Logan Paul) needs his ass beat,” Nate Diaz tweeted. “And who let the spoiled lil b*tch yell obnoxious sh*t during the fight?”

In the immediate aftermath of his loss against Fury, Paul, who boasts prior boxing wins over former mixed martial arts champions, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren, called for a rematch with the Manchester native.

We can run it back,” Jake Paul explained. “I think we deserve that rematch. All respect to Tommy (Fury), he won. Don’t judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses. I felt flat – I got sick really bad twice in this camp, injured my arm. This wasn’t my best performance, but that’s no excuse.”
