Tonight (Sat. June 29, 2019) UFC Minneapolis goes down from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In the main event, heavyweights Francis Ngannou and Junior dos Santos will collide. The winner could very well be looking at a title shot next. Check out our LowKickMMA UFC Minneapolis staff predictions for the bout here:

Jon Fuentes (2019 Record: 3-2):

Both men come into this fight with impressive win streaks. However, the difference here is Ngannou possesses some freakish ability unlike any other the sport has ever seen. All it takes is one little connection, and “The Predator” is sending you to the shadow realm.

That’s what he recently did to Curtis Blaydes and Cain Velasquez. “JDS” will be no different. I expect Ngannou to connect hard and early, putting the Brazilian out cold.

(Prediction: Francis Ngannou)

Andrew Ravens (2019 Record: 3-2):

Both fighters enter this fight on a winning streak and those wins are extremely impressive. They seem to have found their groove once again, which makes for an entertaining fight.

Yes, both fighters have impressive knockout power and there’s a great chance that this fight ends in someone being woken up by the referee. I think this is a classic case of the reality not living up to the hype. I see JDS going out and wrestling with Ngannou, who has struggled in that department. JDS grabs the decision win.

(Prediction: Junior dos Santos)

Abhinav Kini (2019 Record: 3-2):

While my head tells me Francis Ngannou should get the knockout, I have a gut feeling Junior dos Santos will come away with the win. He has really impressed me with his recent three-fight winning streak and showed that he still has a lot of power with his win over Derrick Lewis.

It’s not on the same level as Ngannou of course, but Dos Santos has more tools in his shed, and as of late, seems to be better as the fight goes on. If he can survive the first round, I think JDS takes this and earns another title shot.

(Prediction: Junior dos Santos)

Tomorrow night (Sat. June 22, 2019) UFC Greenville takes place from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.

In the main event of the night, featherweights Renato Moicano and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung will go head-to-head. Check out our LowKickMMA UFC Greenville staff predictions for the bout here:

Jon Fuentes (2019 Record: 2-2):

Renato Moicano is one of the more promising prospects at 145 pounds. Although he hit a road bump against Jose Aldo in his last outing, he is still one of the more dangerous competitors in the division. “Korean Zombie” is also coming off a disappointing defeat after his last-second knockout loss to Yair Rodriguez.

Jung is a powerful striker and a seasoned veteran, and I have a funny feeling he’s going to connect on the Brazilian with a big shot for the knockout victory.

(Prediction: Chang Sung Jung)

Andrew Ravens (2019 Record: 3-1):

It still amazes me that this is a main event but granted, it is a fight night card, so I digress. Both fighters are coming off losses in their latest outings. Moicano has looked extremely impressive before his last fight which was a loss to Jose Aldo. I think that was just a speed bump in his way but ready to rebound in a big way with a win.

(Prediction: Renato Moicano)

Abhinav Kini (2019 Record: 2-2):

This is an extremely tough fight to call in my opinion. Moicano is more than capable of using his reach to his advantage and just striking and moving away from Jung to win a decision. The question is if he can do it for five rounds.

Another thing to consider is Moicano doesn’t have a lot of power, especially compared to Jung, and a reach advantage didn’t seem to phase The Korean Zombie against Yair Rodriguez, at least for 24:58 of their fight. I have a feeling Jung will be able to catch Moicano and get the win.

(Prediction: Chang Sung Jung)

Tomorrow (Sat. June 1, 2019) UFC Stockholm takes place from the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. In the main event of the night, former 205-pound title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith go head-to-head.

The LowKickMMA staff has offered their predictions on the headliner. Check them out below:

UFC Stockholm Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

Jon Jones’ two latest victims will be matched-up in what is a pivotal bout at 205 pounds. Gustafsson was finished by Jones in the third round after being taken down by “Bones,” while Smith managed to go the distance with the light heavyweight king, losing on the scorecards. However, Gustafsson claims his performance was hindered by an injury.

Barring Gustafsson isn’t injured early on in the fight similar to how he was against Jones, “The Mauler’s” striking pedigree and superb takedown defense is going to make the difference in this fight, and he might pour on too much for Smith to handle. I got Gustafsson via TKO.

Andrew Ravens:

I would assume that many fight fans will take Gustafsson beating Smith here, and rightfully so. A large reason for that is due to the lopsided loss that is stuck in the minds of fans that saw Jon Jones destroy Smith. It turns out that Gustafsson also lost to Jones in his latest fight.

Here’s the difference, Gustafsson is an elite fighter and Smith is a very good fighter, but not championship material. The loss that Smith took to Jones is still with him and that will have an impact on his performance. Also, the fact that Gustafsson is just a better fighter than him will lead him to victory.

Abhinav Kini:

I think this will be a five-round war with Gustafsson coming out on top. He might have underwhelmed in his rematch against Jones, but other than him and Daniel Cormier, Gustafsson is still the best light heavyweight out there. He’s simply better in all areas compared to Smith, and I expect him to have his hand raised. He’s more than capable of getting the knockout, but I think the durability of “Lionheart” will make this go the distance.
