UFC 252 is now official after all 22 fighters weighed-in ahead of the event. In the headline fight, Stipe Miocic faces off against Daniel Cormier for the third and final time with the heavyweight title once again up for grabs. Bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley has his toughest fight to date in the co-main event. He faces Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera who controversially snapped his five-fight winning run last time out.

IT’S TIME! The main event of the evening is finally upon us. Derrick Lewis looks to stretch his winning run to three against the dangerous submission specialist Aleksei Oleinik who enters off the back of a huge win over former champion Fabricio Werdum.

Round 1:  Derrick Lewis opens up with a huge head kick and follows up with some hooks. He pushes Aleksei Oleinik up against the fence. Lewis drags the fight to the mat and begins dropping nasty ground and pound. The fight comes to a standstill. Lewis is stuck in half guard. Oleinik works his way back up and immediately secures a takedown of his own. Lewis reverses position and drops a few big shots before the Russian gets back on top. He’s trying for a choke and Oleinik is putting his all in to getting it. Eventually he lets go and settles for side control. Oleinik tries for an arm lock as round one ends.

Round 2: Lewis tries a flying knee at the start of round two. He misses built lands with a hook which drops Oleinik. ‘The Black Beast’ swarms with ground and pound before Herb Dean steps in to wave off the Fight

In the co-main event #11 ranked middleweight contender, Omari Ahmedov looks to get the biggest win of his career against former 185lb king Chris Weidman. The All-American is desperate to get back in the win column after losing five of his last six UFC fights.

Round 1: Chris Weidman is trying for the takedown early. Omari Ahkmedov is doing well to defend. Weidman again shoots in for the single leg against the fence – Akhmedov defends again. The fight moves back into striking range and Ahkmedov lands a nice body shot in close before trying a combo up top. The Russian shoots in for a takedown of his own but Weidman defends and is now looking to take top position for himself. The fight moves back to feet but not for long as the ‘All American’ finally secures his first takedown of the fight. Ahkmedov works his way back to his feet but that’s exactly what it is – work. Weidman stays glued to him and quickly drags the fight back to the floor. The former champ seems content in the guard but eventually advances to half guard. A few short shots from Weidman just before the horn sounds to end round one.

Round 2: Weidman scores with a right hand over the top at the start of round two. Ahkmedov is putting pressure on Weidman who unwisely drops his hands. The Russian secures a takedown against the fence. Weidman gives his back to return to his feet – he eats a few shots on his way back up. The fight is in striking range now. Both men fail with takedown attempts. Weidman shoots in. He has his opponent up against the fence and is working hard to get the fight down – great defence from Ahkmedov who lands a nice punch on the break. Weidman fails badly with his latest shot. Ahkmedov lands big to the body to make him pay. The Russian shoots in and gets the takedown he’s on top.

Round 3: Weidman shoots in early for the takedown – he gets it. Ahkmedov won’t stay down though. The ‘All American’ is determined though and stays glued to his opponent. He eventually gets it down again and is able to keep it there. The former champ works his way into the mount position and it trying to lock up an arm-triangle choke – Ahkmedov escapes but he is mounted still. Weidman stays busy on top but maintaining top pressure which has his opponent in a really tough spot in round three.  Weidman is slowly locking up a arm-triangle. As the clock ticks down he begins to squeeze hard but Ahkmedov is tough and Weidman settles for mount. He fires off an elbow. Ahkemdov rolls and Weidman takes his back. He’s on top dominating this fight as the final bell sounds.

Round 1: Pitolo lands a knee to the belly as Stewart attempts a combo. Stewart is the one advancing and pressuring more early on. They exchange more. Pitolo shows good head movement and is momentarily clinched up by Stewart before they return to striking. Pitolo catches him with a right hook. He is mixing things up with leg kicks too. Pitolo misses a spinning backfist and Stewart controls his back. Pitolo reverses and takes him down but Stewart sinks in the guillotine to get the submission!

Next up on the UFC Vegas 6 main card is a women’s bantamweight bout between Yana Kunitskaya and Julija Stoliarenko.

Round 1: Stoliarenko slips and looks to land. They clinch up. Kunitskaya has Stoliarenko up against the fence but is reversed soon after. Kunitskaya reverses soon after and lands some knees. She starts to mix it up with some elbows too. Stoliarenko is attempting to pull guard but to no effect so far as her nose is bloodied up. Stoliarenko eventually falls down but manages to control Kunitskaya after a failed takedown attempt. Kunitskaya reverses again and has her clinched up once again. She continues to land knees as she did earlier in the round. They end the round swinging.

Round 2: Stoliarenko slowly attempts a spinning heel kick but it’s caught by Kunitskaya who drops her and lands a kick to the belly. They clinch up soon after and it’s a repeat of the first round with Kunitskaya landing knees again. She starts to land some lefts as well as Stoliarenko struggles to get out of the position. Stoliarenko gets to the ground but she is clinched up yet again after she stands up. Stoliarenko receives some big knees as she seems to be in great discomfort. The fight goes to the ground and it looks like Stoliarenko is attempting an armbar with just 30 seconds remaining in the round. However, she loses it as the round ends.

Round 3: The third round begins the same with Kunitskaya clinching Stoliarenko up. The fight goes to the ground with Kunitskaya in Stoliarenko’s guard. Not a lot of action takes place as the referee stands them up. Kunitskaya straight away goes for the clinch. The fight goes to the gorund momentarily but it again returns to the feet in the clinch position. They separate with over 30 seconds remaining. Stoliarenko looks for a hail mary shot but finds herself clinched up. She lands a body kick as the fight ends.

Round 1: Dariush lands a huge body kick after the pair swing early on. The fight is stopped after an accidental eyepoke on Dariush. The fight resumes. Dariush lands a jab and Holtzman returns with a leg kick. The fight is stopped again as Dariush receives another eyepoke. The fight resumes again as Dariush looks for the takedown but Holtzman defends well early on. Dariush isn’t giving up on it but Holtzman continues to remain on his feet. Holtzman escapes but receives a huge knee. Dariush is looking for the finish as he lands another knee. Dariush continues the onslaught as Holtzman looks for the takedown now. Dariush stuffs it and now has Holtzman’s back. Holtzman reverses and has Dariush up against the fence. They return to striking. Dariush lands a body kick and follows it up with a straight left. Dariush continues to land huge strikes but Holtzman displays a great chin. However, Dariush lands a spinning backfist that drops Holtzman as the fight is called off.

Official result: Beneil Dariush defeats Scott Holtzman via knockout (R1, 4:38).
