It doesn’t look like Tyson Fury’s professional wrestling career is over just yet. Fury defeated Braun Strowman at the WWE’s big Saudi Arabia event last year, his first professional wrestling match.

However, according to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, an account who has broken several professional wrestling news stories over the years, Fury is actually being considered for a WrestleMania appearance in April. It all depends on the result of his upcoming rematch with Deontay Wilder in February.

Fury and Wilder will run things back for the WBC heavyweight title in Las Vegas on February 22. Per the report, Vince McMahon will only make Fury a WrestleMania offer if he wins the fight. He doesn’t see the logic in throwing millions of dollars at a guy for a WrestleMania spot coming off a loss.

“Lots of speculation regarding Tyson Fury & WrestleMania. Source said his fight at MGM Grand vs. Deontay Wilder on February 22 is crucial to him appearing in Tampa. If Wilder wins, Vince isn’t throwing $$ at a guy who just lost on PPV. So to a degree, the ball is in Fury’s court.”

In their first fight, Fury and Wilder fought to a controversial draw in December of 2018. Despite many believing Fury should’ve been given the nod, Wilder retained his title with the draw decision. After a pair of victories from both men since, they’ll run things back in, arguably, the biggest boxing bout of the year.

What do you think about Fury possibly competing at WrestleMania?

Former UFC champion Ronda Rousey is now officially a part of the WWE’s roster and was baptized in classic professional wrestling fashion after Stephanie McMahon slammed her through a table on Monday.

But that wasn’t even the worst part of her appearance on RAW, as McMahon did the unthinkable by bringing up Rousey’s devastating knockout losses that led her to retire from the sport altogether. Rousey is notoriously prickly when it comes to discussing those losses in interviews, but that didn’t stop Vince McMahon’s daughter from “going there” – and didn’t stop Rousey from letting her for money.

Watch the exchange for yourself:

McMahon insisted Rousey’s first loss in pro-wrestling would come in her very first match, poking fun at how the ‘world knows she handles losses’:

“Ronda, just remember that you chose this path. This is all on you. You are going to lose at WrestleMania. In the record books, your very first match in WWE is going to be a loss to me.

“And we all know — The world knows how you handle losses.”

Rousey will make her official WWE debut at Wrestlemania 34 on Sunday in a tag team match with partner and fellow Olympic medalist Kurt Angle against Stephanie McMahon and her real-life husband, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

With former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s current WWE deal set to expire following April 8’s WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, talk of yet another UFC run for the hulking fan favorite is reaching a fever pitch.

Those rumors were kicked into high gear earlier this year when Lesnar, who has been out of action in MMA since his decision win over Mark Hunt at 2016’s UFC 200, was spotted posing for a photo with UFC President Dana White while wearing a UFC t-shirt.

Lesnar was suspended by USADA for testing positive for a banned estrogen blocker, but that suspension has run its course and he’s now eligible to return to mixed martial arts. There’s little secret the UFC could use a proven pay-per-view draw like Lesnar during these uncertain times for the promotion, and apparently, Lesnar’s interest is also more than mutual.

During a recent spot with Newsweek, Lesnar’s longtime pro-wrestling ‘manager’ Paul Heyman put their proverbial cards on the table and revealed Lesnar’s desire to return to the octagon was not a secret, calling his perceived MMA return a ‘fact’:

“I don’t think it’s any secret that Brock is looking to get back into the octagon. He is obviously eyeballing another fight in UFC. There’s no secret. He’s posing for pictures with Dana White wearing a UFC shirt in the UFC offices in Las Vegas. That’s not a negotiating tactic, Brock Lesnar wants to compete inside of the octagon. There’s no leveraging that; it’s a fact.”

But Heyman didn’t stop short of insisting Lesnar could compete in both MMA and the WWE, pointing to the fact that he performed in the WWE just six weeks after his win over Hunt two years ago:

“We both have a number of projects we have been interested in pursuing that will start to kick off after WrestleMania. That doesn’t mean Brock Lesnar can’t retain the title and we do those other projects simultaneously in a continued run as Universal Champion. The proof I offer to you is Brock Lesnar fought Mark Hunt at UFC 200 and, six weeks later, main evented SummerSlam against Randy Orton.

“Brock Lesnar can do both and he has proven that time and time again. And I’ve been the co-founder and co-running my agency since I came back in 2012. I’ve been working on outside projects this entire time, so we can certainly walk that line when it comes to working in WWE and other projects. Mine is entertainment-based, Brock’s is beating the hell out of someone in the octagon.”

Lesnar may not be in prime UFC shape at 40, but he does have the fact that heavyweight seems to be a division much more conducive to older fighters staying around for a longer tenure on his side, evident by the many 35-plus fighters still competing at the top levels in the octagon.

That may not matter, however, because whenever Lesnar gets back into the octagon, people start buzzing and opening their wallets.

That’s a lot more than can be said for most of the pay-per-view events UFC owners Endeavor have put on in the past year and change, so don’t be at all surprised to see Lesnar back soon.

After months and months of speculation, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has made her official World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) debut.

Heading into the promotion’s annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view this evening (Sun., January 28, 2018), speculation was that Rousey, a longtime pro-wrestling fan, was not going to debut at the show because she was filming her movie Mile 22 despite several teasing appearances and endless rumors she was soon signing with the pro-wrestling giant.

Some bought it, some did not.

Well, in classic pro-wrestling style, the WWE surprised both MMA and wrestling fans when Rousey came out at the very end of the pay-per-view to confront three top female wrestlers and greet WWE executive Stephanie MacMahon, whom she once put in some sort of armlock at WrestleMania almost three years back before pointing at the sign for the upcoming WrestleMania 34 this year.

Check it out:

It was noted that Rousey showed up in a leather jacket and shirt similar to that of Roddy Piper, her late wrestling mentor and the man who handed her her ‘Rowdy’ namesake:

What’s more, Rousey stated in an interview with ESPN that she had signed with WWE to be a full-time performer, not a part-time wrestler making a quick appearance for a big one-time payday:

“This is my life now. First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt,” Rousey told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne of her decision to join WWE. “When I first met with Triple H, I told him, ‘There are other things I can do with my time that’ll make way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.’”

Rousey will now go on to instantly be one of the WWE’s biggest stars despite having little actual experience in pro-wrestling. Based on what she was able to accomplish in Judo and mixed martial arts, however, there’s little doubt Rousey will get the hang of it rather quickly.

It would also appear to officially close the door on her MMA career, where she was dominant and peerless up until the point she wasn’t in back-to-back losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes to close out her career, at least for now.

Will you pay attention to pro-wrestling just to see how Rousey’s new career plays out?

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has long been linked to the WWE, and the overall consensus backstage at the professional wrestling juggernaut is that ‘Rowdy’ would be a natural fit for the industry.

Rousey comes off of the first two back-to-back losses of her mixed martial arts (MMA) career, a second round knockout from Holly Holm and a 48-second knockout to current 135-pound champ Amanda Nunes, but that hasn’t diminished her value to the pro wrestling world.

Proverbial mouthpiece to Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, was recently a guest on the Fight Society podcast earlier this week and discussed the possibility of having Rousey in the WWE. Despite her recent downfall in the sport of MMA, however, Heyman still believes Rousey could have quite the run in the WWE (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“I think the WWE audience would embrace Ronda Rousey with open arms,” Heyman said. “Just her name recognition alone is huge. It doesn’t matter, her past two experiences in the UFC. All that matters is if she got involved in a story that people could relate to and sink their teeth into and get excited about.”

ronda rouseyHigh-ranking WWE officials such as Stephanie McMahon and Triple H have also expressed interest in bringing the former Olympic Judoka over to the world of professional wrestling, and got a small taste of it when Rousey teamed up with The Rock for a brief encounter with McMahon and ‘The Game’ at Wrestlemania 31.

Heyman went on to say that Rousey is a ‘natural fit’ for the WWE world and that he would like to take her under his wing, much like he did with former UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar, and oversee her pro wrestling career as a ‘Paul Heyman girl’:

“I think Ronda Rousey doing anything in WWE is a natural fit,” he added. “I’d love to see it and would be happy to discuss with her all the benefits that she could enure by being a Paul Heyman girl.”
