Dana White: “I’ve Been Trying To Work With Vince McMahon For Years, It’s Very Difficult”

UFC President Dana White appeared as a guest on the latest episode of WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair’s podcast and spoke about his attempts to work with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon over the years.

“I’ve been working, or trying to work with Vince for years,” said White. “It was obviously very difficult, Vince is a maniac.”

White continued and as he has for years in a number of interviews, spoke highly of the guy who turned his father’s regional pro wrestling promotion into a worldwide conglomerate.

“He’s a f*cking competitor, man. That’s what he is. If you look at what Vince McMahon has accomplished in all of his years, and to still be on top, still doing it, the guy’s got enough money,” said White of NcMahon’s work ethic and success over the years. “He’s in it because he loves it. He’s in it because he’s passionate about it.”

White mentioned allowing Ronda Rousey to do the WrestleMania appearance was one example of him working with McMahon in the past. Another example given was obviously the shocking Octagon return of Brock Lesnar at last month’s UFC 200 pay-per-view.

White made it clear that if nothing else, McMahon has his respect.

“[Vince] is a f*cking maniac, he’s an animal,” said White. “He’s a competitor, he wants to win. That’s his nature and I respect it.”

Report: Brock Lesnar In Real Fight With Chris Jericho Backstage At WWE SummerSlam

As we reported late Sunday evening, Brock Lesnar made his WWE in-ring return at the SummerSlam pay-per-view on Sunday night and his match was stopped prematurely due to a massive elbow that opened up a bad cut on his opponent, Randy Orton. It was announced that Lesnar was the winner via TKO.

In an update, F4WOnline.com reporter Dave Meltzer noted during his show, Wrestling Observer Radio, that the elbows and opening a cut on Orton was actually part of WWE’s plans for the match, as crazy as it might seem.

The real story, however, was one particular wrestlers’ reaction to the end of the match.

Meltzer is also reporting that popular WWE Superstar Chris Jericho was unaware of WWE’s plans for the finish of the match, and as a result, got irate thinking he went off script and hurt a fellow performer to such a degree because of recklessness.

At this point, things escalated until the situation got physical. Lesnar and Jericho ended up in a real fight that had to be broken up by Vince McMahon, Triple H and others. For the full story with a lot of specific details on how exactly the fight started, who started it and how bad it got, read the following article at our pro wrestling affiliate site, 24Wrestling.com: Report: Brock Lesnar & Chris Jericho In Backstage Fight At SummerSlam

Brock Lesnar wrestled his first pro wrestling match for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) since his UFC 200 comeback fight at the company’s annual “SummerSlam” pay-per-view on Sunday night and well, it’s safe to say “The Beast Incarnate” lives up to the nickname regardless of where he is competing.

Lesnar wrestled veteran WWE Superstar Randy Orton at the show in a match billed as “15 Years in the Making.” The two closed out the show with a match that ended by TKO due to doctor stoppage when Lesnar blasted Orton with a vicious elbow from inside Orton’s guard.

No, seriously …that’s how it ended.

Yes, everyone knows that WWE performers follow scripts, but as they say, “this ain’t ballet” and guys get banged up and injured way more often than non-pro wrestling fans might think.

Featured above are video highlights of the match released by WWE late Sunday night, however the elbow and cut are not included.

Below are photos that documents what happened for those who didn’t watch the show, and as you’ll see, Lesnar’s elbow shot badly opened up Orton with what the pro wrestling community calls a “hard-way cut,” which essentially means real, or accidental. Due to WWE’s policy on blood and the fact that WWE coudn’t control the bleeding, the match was stopped and Lesnar was declared the TKO winner.

It would appear that Brock Lesnar is no fan of Conor McGregor…

When Conor McGregor fired shots at the entire World Wrestling Entertainment roster recently, his intentions were obvious. ‘The Notorious’ was using his powerful social media following and already huge name to get mixed up in more publicity. As they say, any publicity is good publicity, and for McGregor it appears to be all good. His threats to the WWE stars were met with a myriad of angry responses, as expected.

Pro wrestling legends Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, John Cena and Kurt Angle were included in the long list of offended WWE employees. The line of people wanted a piece of McGregor continued to grow, much to the delight of the polarizing Irish star. All this and we haven’t even addressed the madness of this UFC 202 fight week.

Brock Lesnar

While we are on the subject of pro wrestlers against fighters, one particular name has cropped up with a history in both fields. WWE superstar and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was asked about McGregor’s recent comments, and his response was explicit and direct.

Here’s the video:

“I take shits bigger than that kid. I know you guys all play fucking video games and you live in this false reality and shit. Listen, I’m 290 fucking pounds, this guy is 145 pounds. If he’s lucky and he’s getting up and eating his Weeties in the morning. He wants to challenge. If Conor McGregor wants to say some shit to me, come here Conor, face-to-face, and say some fucking shit.”

Wow, not your average pro wrestler interview by a long stretch.
Lesnar

BROCK SMASH!

Lesnar’s future in the UFC is pretty much over since he failed two UFC 200 drug tests. Perhaps he might want to concern himself more with the man who really wants to get in his face, Mark Hunt. As far as Conor McGregor in the WWE is concerned, at this point don’t count out any possibility. Money talks and all that.

On Thursday, UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor appeared as a guest on “The Herd” and reiterated the points he made last weekend about WWE Superstar John Cena during his Las Vegas Q&A event (watch a full video archive here).

While speaking with Nick Wright, who has been filling in for regular show host Colin Cowherd, “The Notorious” one again took aim at the WWE Superstar, using his popular “You Can’t See Me” catchphrase and bright-colored ring attire as ammunition.

“I spoke the truth,” McGregor said when asked if he thinks up his trash-talk ahead of time or simply says what’s on his mind. “He is wearing a luminous orange t-shirt, he is 40 years of age and he’s waving his hand in front of his face talking like nobody can see him, but you can see him right there. He’s a … I mean, I simply go in and speak the truth and that’s it.”

McGregor also spoke about showing up to the UFC 202 press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday before again addressing the crazy bottle-throwing incident that broke out after his opponent for this Saturday’s pay-per-view, Nate Diaz, walked out during the middle of the event.
