A bout once scheduled for Strikeforce has found a home in the UFC.

Veteran Julie Kedzie will meet former kickboxing star Germaine de Randamie at UFC on FOX 8 on July 27 at Seattle’s Key Arena. The UFC announced the bantamweight bout on Tuesday.

Kedzie, who trains at Jackson’s MMA, was once slated to meet the American Kickboxing Academy’s de Randamie on a Strikeforce Challengers show in Sept. 2011, but Kedzie had to pull out of the fight with an injury.

Kedzie brings a 16-11 career record into the bout. She has a well-earned reputation for exciting fights. Kedzie lost a decision to Gina Carano after a solid battle in Elite XC on Feb. 10, 2007, in what at the time was considered a controversial decision to place a women’s fight on Showtime. In her last bout on August 18 in San Diego, Kedzie lost to Miesha Tate via third-round submission in what many consider the best women’s fight of 2012.

De Randamie is 3-2 in her career. Her last two fights were contested at featherweight, with her most recent bout being a decision win over Hiroko Yamanaka on the same card as Kedzie-Tate.
