The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board wasted no time releasing its list of medical suspensions for Saturday night’s UFC 159.

And given the weird array of injuries which occurred over the course of the evening at Newark’s Prudential Center, it should be no surprise the list is lengthy.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones leads the list, thanks to the gruesome toe injury in his left foot. He’s suspended indefinitely, pending an orthopedist’s clearance.

Middleweight Alan Belcher, who was on the wrong end of a horrific right eye poke in his loss to Michael Bisping, is also suspended indefinitely, pending the clearance of an eye doctor. Likewise for Gian Villante, whose bout with Ovince St. Preux was also stopped due to an eye poke.

Yancy Medeiros, who suffered a freak right thumb injury in his bout with Ruslam Khabilov, is out indefinitely as well, pending doctor’s clearance.

Jim Miller, who was finished by Healy via choke when Miller went unconscious rather than tap, is indefinitely pending a CT scan of his head, with a minimum of 60 days.

Fighters suffering lacerations who will have to sit out: Chael Sonnen (45 days), Pat Healy (45 days), Johnny Bedford (60 days).

KO/TKO suspensions, 30 days each: Cheick Kongo, Sheila Gaff.
