Nick Newell has a found a new home.

The lightweight prospect has signed an exclusive mutli-fight deal with World Series of Fighting, WSOF president Ray Sefo and executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz confirmed with MMAFighting.com.

No word just yet on when Newell will make his WSOF debut, however, Abdel-Aziz said it will most likely happen in August or September.

Newell, who initially gained popularity because he is a one-armed fighter, has quickly developed into one of the rising stars in MMA. He extended his MMA record to 9-0 in December when he defeated Eric Reynolds via first-round submission to win the XFC lightweight title.

However, Nwell was stripped of the title earlier this month when he refused to extend his contract with the promotion, thus making him a free agent. He received interest from most major promotions, except the UFC.

“At 27 years old, I want to get to the top as soon as I can,” he said on a recent episode of The MMA Hour. “No more playing around. I want to fight the guys who will get me where I want to be.”

For now, that place is World Series of Fighting.
