Mike Brown isn’t retiring just yet after all.

After flirting with the idea last year and undergoing his second neck surgery months later, a healthy Brown has decided to return to action against Akira Corassani at the UFC on FOX Sports 1 inaugural event on Aug. 17.

The promotion announced the fight on Friday.

The 37-year-old Brown (26-8), a former WEC featherweight champion, enters the bout riding a two-fight winning streak. He considered walking away from the sport last May when he defeated Daniel Pineda at UFC 146. An emotional Brown spoke to MMAFighting.com about his undecided future after the fight and said he was “getting near the end.”

Corassani (11-3-1) also enters the bout on a two-fight winning streak. He most recently defeated Robbie Peralta via unanimous decision in April at UFC on FUEL TV 9 in his native Sweden.

The event will take place at the TD Garden in Boston.
