Sure, there’s no UFC event this weekend. There’s not even a UFC event next weekend, but as is usually the case, it’d be foolish to think there’s nothing going on in the world of MMA.
For starters, UFC 162 is already heating up. The trailer the UFC released hyping the event actually does a good job of selling the fight on the terms it needs to be sold. And as we begin to ponder the possibilities of what could happen, we begin to grasp the enormity of the occasion.
There are also fights tonight. Bellator returns with the launch of their Summer Series, which includes the likes of Muhammed Lawal, War Machine, Seth Petruzelli, Renato Sobral and others.
Last, but certainly not least, Bellator’s reality show kicks off tonight. I’ve seen the entire first episode. To say it’s different than The Ultimate Fighter would be an understatement.
Oh yeah, GLORY also holds an event in New York City this weekend.
