It’s a quiet couple of weeks in mixed martial arts, which is why everyone seems to be on vacation. There’s no UFC events, Bellator is off and the weekend’s only shows are regional events.
Still, UFC 162 isn’t that far away and Anderson Silva is making some bizarre statements about winning and losing not mattering anymore.
I also attended yesterday’s DC press stop for the tour promoting Mayweather vs. Canelo, which is, easily, the best press conference I’ve ever attended. If only MMA could produce something so fun, so enthusiastic.
And hey, there were some regional events last weekend as well as some good kickboxing as well. WAR MMA held their first not-so-bad event and GLORY held their first show in New York City.
There’s a lot going on, so join me today to discuss all of this and more. In terms of today’s chat, anything is up for discussion, but I will lead with this and it all kicks off at 1 p.m. ET.
