Another TUF Brazil 2 contestant has signed with the UFC.
Undefeated welterweight Yan Cabral makes his UFC debut on Oct. 9 against David Mitchell. UFC Fight Night 29 takes place in Barueri, Brazil, and is headlined by the welterweight contest between Demian Maia and Jake Shields. Lance! first reported the bout.
Cabral, 10-0 in MMA with 10 submissions, makes his first Octagon appearance six years after his professional debut. The jiu-jitsu ace made the second season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil two years after submitting Kazushi Sakuraba in Japan. Cabral won two fights inside the show, but was eliminated because of a broken hand.
Coming off a knockout loss to Mike Pierce, Mitchell enters the Octagon looking to possibly save his job after three losses in four UFC bouts. His only win under the Zuffa banner happened last January when he defeated Simeon Thoresen via decision.
