UFC president Dana White isn’t about to go back to the drawing board on The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale card just yet.

Nate Diaz took to Twitter on Monday and proclaimed that he won’t be able to fight Gray Maynard on the Nov. 30 card in Las Vegas because he has to attend his high school reunion. The product of the Stockton school system tweeted “Cant make it november 30th I ive gotta high school reuinion to tend too …”

White, though, isn’t convinced that Diaz’s lightweight fight with Maynard in Las Vegas is off. Talking to reporters at Tuesday’s Chris Weidman-Anderson Silva 2 media day at the MGM Grand, White dismissed Diaz’s tweet.

“The Diaz brothers are doing something crazy? I’m shocked,” the UFC president said with a smile.

Pressed for more detail, White demurred. “I heard about it yesterday,” White said. “I haven’t talked to Joe [Silva] or anybody, so I don’t know if it’s true.”

So until someone provides White with proof otherwise, he’ll go on the assumption that Diaz vs. Maynard is still on.

“I don’t take Twitter for news, you know?” he said. “It’s not an official statement.”
