Miguel Torres will return to action later this month for the first time in almost a year.

The former WEC bantamweight champion will meet Pablo Alfonso in a featherweight bout at World Series of Fighting 6 on Oct. 26, Ali Abdel-Aziz, the promotion’s executive vice president, confirmed with MMAFighting.com. Abdel-Aziz noted that Torres will decide after the fight whether he will remain a featherweight or move back down to bantamweight.

The fight will take place on the undercard of WSOF 6, which will be streamed online.

The 32-year-old Torres (40-6) has lost his last two fights in a row. He last fought on Nov. 3, 2012 at WSOF 1, where he dropped a split decision to Marlon Moraes. That was his first and only fight since leaving the UFC in Aug. 2012.

Torres was arrested in August for marijuana possession, however, he has yet to publicly comment on the incident. Abdel-Aziz said the arrest will not stop Torres fighting on the card.

Alfonso (8-5) has won his last two fights. The former Strikeforce, Jungle Fight and CFA veteran has been fighting since 2000.

WSOF 6, headlined by Josh Burkman vs. Steve Carl for the promotion’s inaugural welterweight title, will take place at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla.
