One of MMA’s top heavyweight prospects is coming to World Series of Fighting.
Steve Mocco, a two-time NCAA Division I heavyweight champion and four-time All-American, signed a four-fight contract with the promotion, WSOF executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz informed MMAFighting.com.
Abdel-Aziz said Mocco’s WSOF debut will be “very soon” but stopped short at providing any other details.
The 32-year-old Mocco, a member of American Top Team, has gone 4-0 in his MMA career since debuting in Nov. 2012. He’s won three of his four fights via the submission.
Considered one of the most dominant collegiate heavyweight wrestlers of all time, Mocco was also a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic freestyle wrestling team. Prior to that, Mocco wrestled at the University of Iowa and Oklahoma State University.
Below is a video of Mocco’s most recent win over Alonzo Roane at Fight Time 17 in November.
