Paulo Filho has added another loss to his MMA record.

Fighting for the middleweight title at Bitetti Combat 19 at the Tropical Hotel arena in Manaus, Brazil, on Thursday, the former WEC 185-pound champion and PRIDE veteran was defeated by Andre Muniz in the co-main event. With the unanimous decision loss, Filho’s record is now 1-4-2 since 2011.

In the main event, Joao Luiz “Andrezinho” Nogueira defended the lightweight title with a second-round guillotine choke over Erick Silva. Nogueira moves his MMA record to 17-6 with the finish.

The highlight of the night was Ronys Torres beating on Gilmar Dutra. With only 25 seconds into the fight, the UFC veteran dropped Dutra with punches and knees. Torres kept working on the ground and pound before the stoppage. Torres is now 14-2 with 10 finishes since leaving the UFC in 2010.

XFC International 1

Xtreme Fighting Championships’ first trip to Brazil was a success, pulling strong ratings on Saturday night – numbers close to the UFC 134 card on RedeTV.

XFC International 1 took place in Osasco, Sao Paulo, headlined by a featherweight clash between Thiago Meller and Clay French. Meller, a 19-5 veteran who fought the likes over Jose Aldo and Rafael dos Anjos over the years, needed one round to stop French (19-6) with punches.

Silvana Gomez Juarez and Mayerlin Rivas also scored important wins in Sao Paulo, advancing to the women’s flyweight tournament final. Juarez (3-0) submitted Bianca Daimoni with one second left in the third round, and Rivas (1-0) defeated Daiana Torquato via unanimous decision.
