A pair of UFC veterans entered the cage at Circuito Talent de MMA 6 on Saturday night in Curitiba, Brazil, but failed to get back in the win column.
Marcos Vinicius (20-7-1), a member of TUF Brazil 1 who went 1-2 under the UFC banner, fought for the bantamweight championship against Anderson Berlingeri (10-1). Berlingeri, a 10-1 prospect from Sao Paulo, scored his seventh straight victory with a first-round TKO. Berlingeri rocked Vinicius with a right hand and forced the referee to stop the fight with a few more punches on the ground.
“I had to win this title,” Berlingeri said after the fight. “It’s my third fight here at Talent, and now I want to defend my title.”
TUF Brazil alum Wagner Campos (12-6), who lost to Marcos Vinicius in his only UFC bout in 2012, fought Mauricio Santos (10-8) in the main event, but suffered his second straight loss since leaving the UFC with Santos locking a guillotine to finish the contest in the third round.
“I said I would take ‘Galeto’s’ head off and I’m taking it to Minas Gerais,” Santos said after the win.
